The wife had been to the Koja food truck back in the day at an Off The Grid event. I guess the owner has gotten popular enough to be able to open a brick and mortar location. This place is just down the street from my work. So when I told her about it she got excited and wanted to stop by as she had liked her experience with the truck. She recommended the Short Rib Koja for me. So thats what we both ordered along with a chicken taco and an order of their Kamikaze fries to share. I asked the cashier if their chicken was breast meat. She went to the kitchen and asked one of the cooks if it was breast and he said "yes". Our order was ready in about 5 minutes. I went up to the counter to pick up the food, looked at the chicken taco and sure enough it looked like thigh meat. I asked the cook if it was breast and he again said, "yes". I figured that maybe the marinade made the meat look weird. So I took it to the table and looked at it a bit harder and was convinced that it was thigh. I start to get up to bring the taco back and I see a manager looking guy peering in my direction. The cook must have talked to him about it because as soon as I walked up to him he apologized and said that the chicken was indeed thigh meat. So I got a beef taco instead. I dont know the managers name but he was a cool looking Filipino guy with a septum piercing. I meant to thank him for helping us out with the food when we left but he wasnt around at that time. As for the food, everything was very good. The short rib Koja was sweet and tasty. The rice "buns" were a bit strange. They are crispy and work well with the meat but they kinda have the texture of the burnt rice at the bottom of the rice cooker. The taco and fries were also good. About the only bad thing I can say about the place is the prices. I think the prices are a bit high for what you get.

I remember Koja Kitchen was serving rice burgers in food truck before in various events and now finally opened their own restaurant. The place replaced the previous whisper cafe which specializes in crepe. Their rice burgers are pretty good. The outside rice is crispy and tasted like torched before serving. Inside filling is sweet and pretty full. However, the price is not cheap though... Most burgers are still at around $8 and fries is another $4 to $5. Their fries house special sauce is pretty good as well. The sauce is sweet and spicy. Most of the food here is a little hot. There was a line when I went for dinner but line moves pretty fast. You can expect line moving speed and order serving speed on par with most fast food places. Pork and chicken wings were sold out when I visited and ahi tuna needs to wait 15 mins. I hope its just they are too busy during grand opening period and will improve later. I took one star off due to its price but still like this place as their signature rice burger is unique in south bay.

Ive had their foodtruck once when they came to my office, and I really liked it. I was super hyped to hear that they opened a branch here, and definitely had to try it out. First off, its SUPER busy near any meal (as in, wait for 45 minutes to place your order). This may have changed recently, but just keep that in mind. I went on a Friday at 2:30pm and ordered in minutes, and got my food in another 5 minutes - very fast service. It was still quite busy (90% of the tables were full), which is a testament to the quality of the food for it being such a weird time. I had the shortrib Koja and the kamikaze fries. I really liked the koja (the rice-bread was crispy on the outside and soft/sticky on the inside, awesome!), but the shortrib wasnt great. The flavor of the meat and marinade was good, but the texture didnt really fit inside of a sandwich. Ill try the bulgogi one next time. I enjoyed the kamikaze fries; I definitely recommend it. I will be going back, but only during off-hours.

Sushi Rice makes amazing buns! Their Koja sandwiches involve different Korean influenced proteins on Sushi Rice buns that have been crisped on the flat top grill. The flavors are intense, running from sweet (beef kalbi) to the tart of kimchi or the creamy of Japanese Mayo. Drizzle some red sauce (hot!) over the whole thing and youve got a party in your mouth. The Kamikaze Fries are all of those ingredients on top of criss-cut waffle fries. I also tried their Strawberry Mango Lemonade, very refreshing and not overly sweet. This would probably be a 5 star except for the Short Rib on the Koja was just a little bit too chewy. Little more time in the marinade maybe. Ill definitely go back so well see.

I absolutely love KoJa!!!! I love the fusion of different foods. The Strawberry mango mint lemonade is the bomb!!! And I have loved everything I have tried. The prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. I highly recommend sharing fries. Getting a burger and fries is a lot of food. I wasnt able to finish it all myself and still was in a food coma! Also be prepared-theyre super busy so be orepared to wait. And the parking can get crazy even though the parking lot is decent sized. Theres just lots of traffic.

This place is great! I feel in love with their rice burgers. Instead of usual bread they use rice patties. They are freshly made and nicely crunchy. Get the pulled pork or ribs meat and youll fall in love. The best is that they dont make things too salty but go light on the seasoning. Their food is also not oily and therefore you have a nice light feeling in your stomach after eating. Service is friendly, theres outdoor seating and they are quick with getting your order ready. Also make sure to try their wings.

First off you better be okay with hunting down a parking spot and waiting in a long (Maybe around 20 minutes) line. The food is pretty decent. Its definitely prepared and plated well and looks pretty. However, the pricing is ridiculous. Its priced as if it were still in a food truck. Two entrees and fries ran me $36 which definitely didnt feel good. The sauce for the fries was definitely the highlight of the entire meal.

The food is good. The owner is nice. I didnt like the tuna in my poki salad so the owner replaced it because I thought it too mushy. And he didnt give me a hard time. The koja fries are yummy. The taco was just ok. I regret not trying dessert because I heard that is what theyre known for. I added a star because The staff is nice and didnt go as our time for coming in 10 minutes before they closed :).

Always nice to see a food truck open up its own brick and mortar store. The Ahi Poke Bowl was delicious and for the price, a decent size. This place fills up pretty quickly on a Sunday, send someone out to find a table while you wait in line. Their burgers, with a rice bun, are extremely oily and the rice just fills you up. The one thing that will bring me back are their fries.
