On Sunday, 12/4/16, at or about 1530, for my first time at this corporate owned so-called family-style Italian restaurant, I ordered a small pepperoni pizza and small lasagna for take-out. The bill was around $47. They did not have change for a $100 bill. The place was not busy at all. Restaurant workers, mostly male teenagers wearing big fat red ties and reading their smartphone screens, stood around. Meanwhile, I waited and waited for my food. I looked at the pictures on the wall of old 50s family-style pictures-black/white, etc. I asked the I host if all those were pictures of the owners. He said no that they were just random pictures. I asked if Buca di Beppo was family owned. He said no, it was a corporation. I knew I was in trouble and knew I was scammed. When the food arrived and I walked out, I tried a piece of pizza and it was undercooked and not even seasoned right. I ate a few more slices and knew it was garbage. I was too far away to go back to complain and would chock up the $20 as a loss. I gave the rest of the pizza to a homeless guy walking to the light rail station. He said the pizza did not taste good either, confirming my opinion. I felt sort of good. Then I tried the lasagna. Same problem: cold, bland, undercooked, not spiced right. The cook was a kid, like the rest of the staff. They did not know what they were doing just all big smiles. After three bites, I said I will have to give this away as well. When I got off the train, I saw a familiar neighborhood homeless guy and offered him the lasagna and the bread which was hard/stale. Im glad I did not get sick from the food. I hope this review helps someone. Dont waste your time and especially your money at Buca di Beppo. I will stick with the two places that I know and like for Italian food, both family owned and been in business for over 30 years: House of Pizza in San Jose and Luigis Pizza in Campbell.

The service here was horrible!! We were seated quickly, granted it was 8:20 pm. We had to flag someone down after waiting over 20 minutes to be asked if we would like something to drink. We were hungry and thirsty, placed our food and drink order. The server said hed be back with some bread and butter, we waited another 15 minutes for the bread, all the while the two tables near us were empty but still had all the platters and dishes on the tables!! During our entire stay of 2 hours the tables had not been cleared, except for 5 glasses!! We received the bread but no plates!! Really!!?? After being seated for nearly an hour the food arrived. The chicken Parmesan was mildly warm, the chicken and sausage ziti was hot but bland. Needed to add salt, and chili pepper for seasoning. Also, the waiter brought uncut bread on a piece of paper. We came here to celebrate my daughters birthday, the waiter asked if we wanted dessert, we thanked him and said no, weve been here a long while and not willing to wait another 30 minutes, just bring us the check. Definitely would not return to this location, worth the drive to Campbell.

I had my 13 yr old son grab the to go food since its faster and it was already paid for on line. What I was surprised and didnt expect was the person who handled the to go order actually asked my son for a tip. To me its unusual, because normally they dont ask me when I come in myself. He was given a tip which is a lot more than this person probably deserved because he asked a child who didnt know any better. I am very disappointed with the service because of this. If I were the one who came in this person would have never asked because I am an adult. I hope he or she felt good taking advantage of a situation. And I do give tips to people who handle to go but Ive heard from many that its not necessary because they did not serve you inside the restaurant. But as a courtesy I do it! I just spoke to my husband about the incident and he agrees 100% that normally you would give not even 10% of the total when its a to go order. If I could give a negative , I would!!

I ordered a half-pan lasagna with the thought in mind that I am bringing an authentic mouth watering dish, but to my dismay, the food turned out to be mushy, lots of water in it, really yukkkky! I dont remember cutting any firm part of it and all I can see is just tomato and tomato everywhere. For those who are after for quality food, you know what I mean. That this thing is going to ruin your day. Where is the cheese and pasta by the way? I grew tired looking for it underneath the layers of tomatoes. It was very embarrassing to the host of the party and for all the people who ate it. Not worth the money. I learned a lesson that it doesnt mean when thing is expensive means it has quality, nope! doesnt apply here. I wish there is zero rating.

Story 1 Went to Oakridge Buca on a busy Saturday nite and my take out order was taking longer than usual. Bartender gives me two free drinks because I had to wait. Ordered the small Frita Tutti Mare which was very tasty and I had it fro two meals! Story 2 Went on another Saturday nite and this time the place was not as busy. I ordered a shot of Bushmills which they were out of so the bartender, different one than in story 1, apologizes and pours a huge double shot of whiskey but only charges me for a single shot.Had the eggplant parmigiana, really good ,and the pizza with spicy sausage and two types of cheese WOW so tasty. Again so much food Ill have it for three days.

I have never had this happen to me in life before. So today Mothers Day!, my Mother requested take-out from Buca, and when I called I was told by staff & manger that no take out order could be taken, and that Buca was to busy because of the Holiday. I ended up heading over to Olive Garden, and the food was horrible, but they did provide take out service to its customers. So I will not be supporting any Bucas that turn away customers appose to offering a coupon or something to say thank you for choosing Buca as the eatery for my family again. Oakridge Mall deserves to have a eatery that provides service to customers, and is serious about service.

We went to celebrate my sons birthday here. The service was excellent, with an attentive waiter. The food tasted fine. My son and husband both fell sick, and the doctor said it was a case of food poisoning. When I went to give the feedback to the restaurant (much later), I found the manager and chef defensive. I was told that I should have come earlier with the doctors note. I would have liked a sincere apology. Instead I was told that there must have been another cause for my familys getting sick. Frankly, this disappointed me. I will not be going back to this restaurant any time soon. :(

This place is GREAT!! Our server Yolanda was Wonderful. She was very attentive, personable & just a pure joy. We had the Brushetta, Caesar salad and the Stuffed Shells with some Moscato. Let me tell you, it was all Amazing, sooo Yummy. It was our first time ordering the Stuffed Shells and boy o boy it was the best decision. Mmmm good!!! Just be forwarned, you definitely have to share the entrees. So much food. My wife and I had leftovers to enjoy for the next day. Cant wait to go back for more!!! Great Dining Experience
