5/25/15 We were most recently at La Tapatia for a PaintNite event, which was a night of painting led by an experience instructor. Here it was in a private room outside of the restaurants main dining area. Id previously attended a private surprise birthday party held in this same room, but have also eaten in the restaurant once. PaintNite is super fun and the instructed painting sessions take place at a variety of restaurants. I cant wait to attend another one! La Tapatia provided servers to take drink and food orders for our room of amateur painters. Most people were only ordering drinks, but a few people wanted food and/or chips and salsa. I only wanted chips and salsa, but thought I had to order food to get some, so I settled on a side order of French Fries. We ordered a couple of drinks which came out pretty quickly (the bar was on-point all night), but the fries still hadnt arrived by our class first break, so I asked one of the servers to check on my order. Shortly after, a plate of cold fries were delivered. Okay, so not "cold", but not warmer than room temperature, and not hot! Soft, soggy, room temperature fries ($4). Chips and salsa were tasty though - and the event was a lot of fun - wed definitely return if they back to this location. (We found a great deal for PaintNite on Groupon!!)

I truly wanted to put my hard earned money into establishment that I truly support. My first day going to La Tapatia although I have been knowing of the establishment for 5 years. Long story short the Customer Service was terrible. There was no direction, as well as my chicken tacos to go to were super soggy as well as the chicken was dry. I truly wish I had a better experience because I was truly hoping that things were going to be positive. I spent way to much for the quality that I got. Not a great experience.

Just leaving after my wife was excited to have some ceviche. After waiting for service, then silverware, then to order, then for refills, the ceviche came. The waiter was questioned as to the bad smell, and if it was cooked today. We were told that it was cooked yesterday. We gave it back and left. It is 5pm, the next day.......how long does seafood qualify as fresh if it is over 24 hours old? DISAPPOINTED as we just moved up from Mexicali, mexico.

This is the TARDIS of Mexican restaurants; from the street it looks like a hole in the wall but is HUGE on the inside. First, no issue with service animals. Next, WOW the beans they bring with the chips are fantastic! Food tasted very good. There is a good selection of beer on tap, and two of us shared a combination meal and two drinks with plenty to eat. Service was great and the bathrooms were clean.

How disappointing after reading the reviews here. A very nicely decorated restaurant and very good service (thanks, Luis!), but boy, oh, boy was the food bland and warmed over. The beans and rice tasted weeks old and the entree was flavorless. However, my son really liked the burger and fries, but Ive had better tasting Mexican food from the freezer section of the grocery store.

The food is amazing. The complementary beans, salasa and chips are delicious!! I always seem to get the shrimp cocktail...grrat portion and exactly what you would expect. They have a full bar...or so i think...I always get a margarita or michelada. The staff is very friendly and know how to treat the customer right. I would recommend this place. Great manager.

Hands down best Mexican restaurant in Concord. It actually has won that title multiple years in a row. Free bean dip chips and salsa and great service. I love their famoso burritos and shrimp diablo burrito. A great mix of authentic Mexican food and Tex Mex options. A really fun place to celebrate a birthday!

I went to LaTapatia specifically because they listed tamales with mole on their menu. I ordered it and received tamales with standard enchilada sauce. Not even close. They were OK - not very spicy and with lots (probably too much) masa. The margarita on the rocks was good - not from a mix, Id wager.

Both my wife and I ordered a beef dish and the meat was overcooked and dry. We both felt sick later on that night. The waiter was unfriendly and it took him about 10 min to bring us silverware and napkins. How so many people can give this place 4 or 5 stars is beyond us.

Love this place! We will be celebrating my husbands birthday here for the 2nd year in a row. His choice was La Tapatia. The fun part is that all our friends now love it too! Love the food, the service, the margaritas, everything. You will too!

One of my favorite Mexican food places around in concord and the east bay. Great food, reasonable prices, and everyone who works there smiles when you walk in and are very friendly. I cant get enough of their tacos and enchiladas!!

They have the best chips/salsa combo in the area in my opinion. The Green Hot Salsa is off the hook. I could eat it for days! The other items I have had there have always been good as well. I like the Chimichanga personally.

I ordered to-go, and my order was ready really fast. I got a steak chimichanga and it was amazing! I love that they have cheap margaritas and are close to my home....girls night is so much funner without a DUI.

Service was amazing. Our waiter was totally awesome. Unfortunately the food was lackluster at best. I wasnt surprised by any means. But between the service and the endless bean dip, I think 4 stars is in order.

Is a good place and great food. the prices online are inaccurate. I thought I was going to spend 20 bucks and end up spending 28. which is kind of pricey for enchilada dinner and a salad but what the hell.

Great outdoor patio to hang out with friends. Great food and service. This place has been around for decades and has a great menu. We had the Shrimp Enchiladas and Sizzling Combo Fajitas. It was awsome.

Dinner starts with the ubiquitous cops and salsa, but they also give you bean dip, which is nice. The food is well seasoned with a good quantity. They also have a good selection of tequilas.
