You can always tell when a sushi place is going to be good when you look around and people are speaking in Japanese and the ambiance feels very authentic and not overdone. I enjoyed my experience at Sato. I ordered the Sashimi lunch and the fish was very fresh. The salmon was absolutely delicious. I do wish they had mentioned that the sashimi platter had octopus on it (not my favorite) since I did ask what fish came with it and that was not mentioned, but aside from that, the experience was good.

This is my favorite Japanese Restaurant in Pleasanton. I come here often with my family. I love the S ukiyaki! The sushi is always fresh and melts in your mouth. This is one of the few Japanese owned restaurants. Most Japanese restaurants are either Korean or Chinese. I just wish they would expand their menu to have more items.

I have been going to Satos for over 20 years and it has been my families favorite. But tonight was not up to the Satos standard. The service was very slow, the rolls were smaller and and did not have the same level of quality. We went home and ate leftovers.

My go-to place for Japanese lunch and dinner in the east bay. Authentic Japanese food owned and run by Japanese. Satos has the best beef sukiyaki Ive had in the Bay Area. Service is always friendly and reasonably quick. I usually order to pickup though.

This is the real deal if you want great Sashimi by a Japanese chef that takes pride in everything he does. Even the Natto is organic. Hands down the best Sushi in the Tri-Valley area.

This is a gem. The first clue when we walked in the door was that most of the patrons were Japanese and Mamasan was conversing with them in Japanese. Everything we had was delicious!

Traditional Japanese, if you want fast and fancy and fish that all tastes the same Sato is not the place for you. The go to Sozo. I love tradition and quality and Sato is both.

This place is by far the best sushi place in the Bay area. I have been going here for years and Mako and crew serve the finest cuisine and a family, caring atmosphere.

You have tp be Japanese to get reasonable service. Otherwise, they serve you when they have to. I refuse to go there.
