*** In Short *** Small shop serving up scoops and pints of soft, creamy ice cream. *** In Depth *** Ive admittedly never been a huge fan of Three Twins, especially when compared to other shops in the city like Humphry and Mr & Mrs, partly because of the flavors, and partly because of the texture of their ice cream. To that first point: Id only had their ice cream in "typical" flavors previously, and only in the little individual serving cup sizes (thanks Uber), all of which were, well, really average. Actually going into the shop this time allowed me access to a larger variety of samples, of which I found their butterscotch pecan and maple walnut flavors to be rather tasty! To the second point: if you like harder and denser ice cream like I do, youll find Three Twins to be a little less than substantial, as their ice cream is of the fluffy, soft, and creamy variety. If you think of mousse or cottage cheese, you wont be too far off in imagining the actual texture. Now, I certainly wouldnt go out of my way to go to one of their shops, like I would with other ice cream shops, but now that I know they have some tasty flavors, Id certainly consider them for post-dinner dessert if I were in the area! Also, bear in mind that this shop is pretty small, and has no seating whatsoever. Definitely a grab and go kind of place. ***Accessibility Info*** Venue - Besides being located on a slight grade, this shop is TINY, AND the door opens inwards. That said, if there isnt anyone inside, it should be just large enough to not pose any issues for maneuverability. The ice cream case is your standard height case, which means if you want samples, youll need to either reach up for the tasting spoons, or ask the staff to hand them to you by the lower cash register counters. Bathroom - Pretty sure this shop doesnt have any public ones.

Honestly, Im a girl who loves classic ice cream flavors and while Three Twins has an amazing lemon cookie flavor, give me Mint Confetti or Cookies and Cream any day. Its my drug of choice, with self control I will still finish a pint of their ice cream in about 4-5 days. For my tastebuds its the right amount of creaminess, flavor and each bite has cookies or mint chips. My only complaint is that their version of chocolate chip cookie dough doesnt have enough dough bits, BUT the entire ice cream somehow manages to taste like it - still I like my dough bits. :) It is definitely one of my favorite ice cream brands EVER. Stop reading this right now, go and get a pint and youll be much happier, trust me (unless you dont like ice cream or are incredibly lactose intolerant).

I went here and I was disappointed with the service and quality control. It wasnt warm out, but the ice cream that was served to us started to melt the second after it was put in the cup. I dont think the freezer was cold enough. Another thing that somewhat appalled me was that the lady scooping the ice cream forgot that they ran out of milk to make milk shakes. She had already scooped the ice cream out and then she put it back in the serving area. I found that unappealing, even though the milkshake container may be clean. The only reason I give this place a 3 instead of a 2 is because the flavors that I got were good. I got two scoops in a cup, and I got the milk coffee flavor and the cookies and cream flavor.

Its dangerous to have Three Twins as your neighbor. Delicious homemade and organic ice cream. They only offer a few flavors at time, so you never know what will be waiting for you (unless you have them in your phone...). Its a little pricey and only takes cash. Must have- Lemon Cookie and and Basic Chocolate Chip has never left me disappointed! hot off the flipping press....they now serve ice cream sandwiches with miette cookies. sorry i just fainted.

One of my favorite flavors to get is the Sea Salted Caramel. They have new flavors all the time, so I typically try a new flavor topped over a scoop of the Caramel. The texture of the ice cream is very creamy and smooth, which I enjoy. Thats saying a lot too since I typically prefer gelato or frozen yogurt over ice cream. I definitely recommend this place and basically everything is organic!

Terrible costumer service! The girl that was working there made me feel like she was doing me a favor (maybe because when I got there when she was making - and eating the waffle cones. She got an attitude when I ask her for a bigger cup so my ice cream wouldnt make a mess in my car. Ice cream was runny/melting already when she handed it to me.

Customer service definitely needs assistance-or a nap and then some coffee. Ice cream is yummy and creamy but I could hardly taste the flavor with as small of a sample as she scooped. It was literally pea size-had to ask for another scoop. Id much rather make the walk to Smitten for awesome customer service and Great ice cream.

Its organic and its icecream. Super creamy and no surprises here. Its great if youre looking for an old fashioned no bones about it ice cream (think vanilla). There was a coffee flavour but, as the kids say "meh". Love that its open late, a nice option to have after eating some delicious ramen across the street.

Love the sweet cream! Excellent Ice Cream. Yummy ice cream, Mexican Vanilla is my favourite. Rich, delicate, smooth ice cream. Their selection is tremendous! I think ice cream fairies made this dessert. The staff are very personable and make you feel like you are family.

Very good ice cream and no lines for us! The girl helping us was not in the best of moods, but that didnt stop us for tasting some of the options. We had the vanilla bean, cookies & cream and chocolate & cookie dough... all of them were delicious!

Highly recommend their grilled peach and lemon cookie flavors. Grilled peach has little flecks of real peach in it, and lemon cookie is lemon-flavored with lemon cookie dough. The kids size ("teeny") is more than enough, for $2.50.

Very good ice cream. The store is very little and dont always have all the flavors they sell, we went there trying to get their famous mint cookies flavor, but they only had it in pints. The service was good and the price was ok

My fave creamery in SF by far. Their mocha difference ice cream is delish and their shakes authentic and tailored to your taste (more or less milk on demand). they also sell cakes and other goodies.

Probably the lightest tasting of the bunch (3 twins, bi-rite, humphrey)... but has some OUTSTANDING flavors. Lemon Cookie, Horchata, and their limited Pliny the Elder flavors come to mind.
