This place has really good ice cream and they put extra whipped cream on my ice cream cone so that was pretty awesome. They even let me bring my dog in and the whole problem with that was the dog ate a lot of my whipped cream that I obviously wanted. then the girl working there said she wanted to pet my dog but she couldnt get her hands dirty and she said she would totally come out later and pet the dog but she never did. Thats what hurt my dogs feelings: 1. it is not a very dirty dog and would probably not get her hands that dirty. 2. she kind of left her high and dry as far as petting was concerned. So yeah. My dog enjoyed the whipped cream but probably has hurt feelings. Wouldnt you?

Quite possibly the best sandwich shop in the entire bay. I love this place. Its iconicly entertaining decor, incredible sandwiches, fantastic desserts, and the friendliest staff ever really come together to make this place a staple of any Marinites week. Their chicken jack melt is inspiring, their turkey gouda is sensational. Just try it all because its all worth trying a million times

Snippy workers. Cluttered outdated menu and desserts. No prices on menu. Sloppy looking ice cream. Always the same flavors. Brownie ice cream tasted rancid. WAY TOO SMALL SCOOPS. Too many steps when paying with credit card. Dirty bathroom. Too small of cups for scoops. Its good ice cream. Too bad its so poorly run. Improve please. As per review below, they let dogs in. Gross!

One of my favorite places for lunch in Downtown San Rafael! Way more than just ice cream! My favorites are 1/2 tuna salad sandwich and fruit salad! Their grilled chicken salad is awesome. Best, most personable staff. Lots of regulars. Long lines for ice cream on hot summer evenings. I also appreciate their late evening hours!! Wi-fi.

The ice cream is great, and usually I dont make a big deal about ice cream, but this place rocks. It also feels like a diner, so a nice spot to chill. For whatever reason the chocolate ice cream was better than Ive had almost anywhere else, and I typically do not like chocolate ice cream.

Better ice cream than youd think and no pretentiousness like Silbermanns. Lotta writers hang out here and because its fourth street you get an occasional homeless crazy but hey, a little atmosphere doesnt hurt.
