Theres a lot of bakeries in Chinatown here in San Francisco but Fancy caught our eyes because honestly it was one of the cleanest there. As you expect from an asian bakery, its was packed with cheap sweet and savory pastries. All looking delicious, I grabbed a tray and started filling it up! Got the pineapple and black bean bun, that was too bean-y and not so much pineapple-y. I didnt mind it though but I wish the black bean was crushed into a paste not left as beans. The second bun was the Japanese honey, it was warm and absolutely delicious! The lemon jelly roll was good but a little gooey . As for the highlight it was definitely the chocolate mousse! Oh my ! absolutely heavenly. Three layers of chocolate mouse topped with chocolate pieces, dark sweet and white! so, so good!

This bakery is a little gem in the Portola district. They make typical Chinese sweet buns like pineapple buns, but they also have a nice variety of other sweet pastries. Youll find traditional savory buns too, like the hot dog bun and the pork roll. They also make bread, from raisin bread to sweet breads to just normal bread. In their refrigerated section, there are cakes (my favorite being the mango mousse), pastries (definitely try the cheese bun), and single-serving desserts like tiramisu. Theyre cash only, and they also charge for pastry boxes (they didnt before). Overall, a good stop for cheap Asian baked goods. When youre done, I recommend going over to the Four Barrel Coffee a street over. :)

Location is not the best but it is one of the better Chinese bakeries in the neighborhood. The store is pretty tiny but they offer a good amount of buns and cakes. +5 stars for the green tea mousse cake! great for birthdays or any other occassions: the cake is light and the green tea mousse is not overbearing. ive ordered it for many different birthdays and special events and everyone loved it as well! they even give you this packet of paper plates, cake server, and candles (its not the best quality but love that they offer it to you without even asking) they also do Happy Birthday writing on the cake. call ahead to place the cake on hold since they run out quickly!

Their pastries are always very good and numerous selection. I especially liked their pineapple bun. Once a while, they will make new kind of buns. They sell birthday cakes also, very nice birthday cakes, not very sweet and the cake is moist. Theres also a taro pastry which I liked very much as well. You have to be there very early, or usually a crowd in the morning.

I try to come here every morning. Everything here is delicious and its one of my favorite Chinese bakeries ever. BBQ pork buns and egg tarts are my favorites. The mousse treats are yummy as well. Definitely pick up a milk tea to go along with your bakery treats if they havent sold out yet!

I usually love the baked goods from Fancy Wheat Field, especially their cake, yum yum. They have moved to the new location, just a few storefronts from their old location. I have include pictures of the new location. Same yummy baked goods in a newly remodeled location.

Delicious food, amazing prices (I never thiught I could get this much great food for 3 dolars!) and wonderful location. It was a bit crowded, but that was handled well, and the employees arent the nicest, but they work fast and are efficient.

Love this place this is the place to go for baked Asian cakes in the bay area. They have three locations. Mixed fruit cake and black forest cake is amazing. Please try it if you have not had Asian cakes before.

Many different types of bread. Not really traditional Chinese bakery but good nonetheless. Prices also tend to be a bit high compared to other places. There are better places nearby.
