My family just moved around the corner from Black Point Cafe. My dad frequents this local coffee destination and I pop in for food and a dirty chai (so good) several times whenever I visit. The food is great if you are looking for a quick flavorful bite to eat with a nice view and a slightly edgy hipster vibe, BUT you will notice I did not give it 5 stars. The fact of the matter is that I have never had a friendly encounter with any of the staff here. Aside from taking your order, no small talk will be had - and I am one of the friendliest chattiest people in the world, always looking to connect. This isnt a deal breaker for me - I will still go there whenever I am in town - but this place has so much potential and its a shame that the staff doesnt try to smile and connect more with their customers.

Good coffee, nice enough staff, but advertised free Wi-Fi was atrocious (wouldnt connect, didnt stay connected, no internet access when it was connected, etc.), and even though the posted hours online said 5pm, they started putting the chairs up on the tables, blasting a different type of music, and kicking us out at 4pm and said they had changed their hours. Which is fine, they have every right to do that, but some warning/communication would have been nice. I might come back and give it another shot another time because the coffee was good and the food looked great, just didnt have a super positive experience the first time.

Drink: 4/5 Food: 3/5 Location, atmosphere, music, staff: all 5/5 Lavender latte was unique! Not a particularly harmonious blend of the flavors, a bit muddiera mix than I would have liked. But Im not a barista and it was still worth having! The chicken pesto sandwich was decent with a great atmosphere. Plus, the location cant be beat! Wish breakfast were open past noon because cafe breakfast food is usually better than cafe lunch food. Gave it four stars for food quality, but definitely a place Ill come back to!

My friend and I wanted to go to a place for brunch and came across this place right next to the ghirardelli square. Nice and chill ambiance inside. We enjoyed our food I got the French toast and my friend got the grilled chicken sandwich. She wanted to replace the chips with hashbrown but had to pay extra. Service was alright, the lady at the front was a little rude. The chicken sandwich was dry but highly recommend the French toast.

Im very impressed with Black Point Cafes service and food/beverages. After an early morning workout, the Black Point Cafe is a great solution. The cafe itself is clean and has a couple of screens usually showing morning news/weather/sports information. Theres plenty of seating if youd rather stay for a bit, though, a grab-and-go experience is what Ive seen during the early hours Ive been to Black Point.

BEYOND rude employees , specifically Harold and manager Elaine. Neither was willing to accept responsibility for the way I was so poorly treated. Employee Liz was very nice and did apologize on their behalf. Food and coffee are meh....was going because local but will not spend one more penny there. No actual owners to express grievance to so now wiring on Yelp so they can be held accountable.

This cafe would be awesome except their internet does not work and no one does anything about it. I tried several times last week and also this week with my phone and laptop. Seems like a really lame problem for a cafe to be unable to solve. We are in SF for goodness sake! They are loosing so much money by people going to other cafes to work, if i owned this place Id do something about it.

If you have some time to spare, this cafe is worth the wait! The barista is also the cashier, so it can get backed up if its busy. I had the breakfast muffin w bacon, egg, cheese and avocado - delicious, but the highlight was the Lavender Latte! Ive never tasted anything quite like it and the presentation was beautiful. I would definitely stop here again if I was ever in town.

Coming from Texas im not used to a $14 breakfast, However... not tourist food, great menu (my bagel breakfast sandwich had a huge portion/egg), quality coffee with latte art, and slightly hidden so its not over flowing with people and decent sized inside seating. Great service too. Worth the price if you do not want a tourist quality of breakfast if you know what i mean

I absolutely love this cafe. It is such a gem in the otherwise touristy Fishermans Wharf. I had the pleasure of trying the lavender latte, tropic of cocoa (coconut mocha), White Mac Dre (macadamia nut), and the croissant breakfast sandwich. I highly suggest stopping in here for breakfast, a coffee, or just to get some work done. Ill absolutely be back!

Food was decent, actually quite tasty but took 40 minutes to make a salad and sandwich. Not a problem except others were being served well before us who came in well after us. Things happen, I get it, but the staff reaction to my innocent question made me feel like I did something wrong. Not a very nice staff nor friendly service. Bathroom was gross.

Quiet - possibly the only cafe I found in my visit to San Francisco where I could hear myself think. Coffee pretty good - I need to acclimatise my palate to the heavier roast that SF natives seem to like. Pastries to die for - the Chocolate & Almond croissant was an entire meal in its own right - very flaky & crisp - gentle flavour.

My latte was very tasty, but the service was a bit slow, and I was very surprised by the music playing in the cafe. The were many, many audible swear words (and racial slurs) in the songs playing over the loud speakers, which certainly detracts from the coffee-shop atmosphere that the rest of the cafe seemed to be going for.

Quiet, and spacious, and right across the street from Ghirardelli Square. I stop in for a Macchiato a few times a month, and each time they ask me if Im sure I know what a proper macchiato is. I guess I come back for the lemon bars, which are amazing. Free WiFi, and plenty of space to spread out and work.

Good food and coffee, nice location. Some of the staff are apparently unaware that theyre in a customer service position though. Ive had people be more rude to me but none of them are still in business. Get your staff in gear guys. I want you to succeed. Your product is good. Your service is not.

Not completely overrun with tourists despite being across the street from Ghirardelli Square. Good selection of food; only disappointment was that sandwiches are very small for the price. Nice interior with a few outlets and wifi. Deducted a star due to charging for tap water.

The food was decent for counter serve but the customer service was disappointing on our visit. Had to repeat our coffee orders and they still got hers wrong. Also not sure why our drinks only came out as we were almost finished with our bagel sandwiches but that was annoying.

Lovely café, with a nice maple flavoured latte, and a great view of the bay. It is close to a touristy area, but somehow seems to be mostly preserved from the effects. I say "mostly", but in a good way, you just dont get any attitude from the baristas. :-)
