Great spot a block from Ocean Beach. Their single origin pour-over coffees are delicious, and the food is a step above an order-at-the-register joint. I love their choice of waffles and their sandwiches. The breakfast sandwich is delicious as is the fried chicken sandwich. Expect to pay around $9-11 for a meal and more for coffee (prices depend on the kind of beans you choose. The pastries here are also delicious--huge cookies, cheesecake, and savory bacon cheddar scones are some of my faves. One time I came by when they had a pie cooling in the window and was tickled by the quaintness of it all. There are large tables inside and smaller tables outside that wrap around the length of the building as well for those who want to check out this Outer Sunset street scene.

see pics. Ive been trying to locate this place since the first time I saw them cooling pies in the window. Great beachside cafe a block up from Java Cafe. Menu is deep enough to be an all day brunch nook, and with a solid pastry/baked good window - like, want to eat it all good. The sandwiches are all worthy of consideration; Ethiopian slow drip is the most popular (did you know native Ethiopians have their coffee with butter?). and the biggest plus? TAKING YOUR LUNCH TO THE BEACH. Right across the Great Hwy are all these little bluffs with those squishy vines to sit on as you gaze over beautiful Ocean Beach, soak in wind and sun, and enjoy a respite from the chaos of life. You may not want to share the Whooping Pie. Be prepared for the Crash.

Who ever thought to put eggs + chicken and waffles together made my dreams come true. Ive been to Beachside twice with my boyfriend and we have enjoyed both meals throughly. We did wait in line both times, about fifteen to twenty minutes, but it was worth the wait. The service is pleasant, the food is tasty, and the decor inside is very beachy and enjoyable. The seating outside is PERFECT for dog watching, so naturally we love to sit at the outside tables. So far Ive had their breakfast burrito, Col. Dailys Benedict, hot chocolate, and salted caramel coffee. All four I recommend, but most highly recommend the Col. Dailys Benedict because it is eggs + chicken and waffles! I will certainly try out their burger menu next time.

Extremely! Hot! Strong! Shunned for not tipping. Coffee is way to hot to drink in the first half hour of buying! (Will curdle soymilk) Good strong coffee. $5 min. For card use. After I did not tip the girl glared at me like I "should" tip for buying coffee I pour myself. I usually DO tip but today I am low on money big time and just wont afford it over coffee again tomorrow. Anyone who is rude without a tip loses a customer. You get paid to do your job... not to make customers feel like scum for not being well off as it is. Put me in a very sad mood...a why does the world HATE so much and push so much pain onto others? Now scalding coffee is cold....I missed the window. :/

Coming back from the beach one evening, I saw a cafe right on La Playa and another a block down. For what ever reason I walked a block and found myself in Beachside Cafe. I am glad I did, this place is sweet. I had a meal, folowed by coffee and dessert. The burger was a little over-cooked but tasty. I liked that the cook slightly toasted this bun, nice touch. Coffee was the gourmet kind roasted individually so it is $3+ but worth it. I tasted a full-bodied and flavorful roast, a perfect compliment to the slice of cheesecake. All in all a rich satisfying meal, hit the spot! Friendly staff, quality food, and gourmet coffee. I recommend.

I disliked this restaurant because of the food quality for price. I will say the sandwiches looked good, but I didnt order that. We ordered the fettuccine and they said they were out of noodles. We compromised on fish and chips and soup. I found the food to be undercooked, bland, oily and the soup was like warm to cool when served. We wondered if it was meant to be a cold soup. I was refunded half my meals value which was okay but I would have rather spoken to a manager and gotten my entire refund. The fries they make there are very good. We left wishing we hadnt ever entered. It was a waste of $12 and one hour of my life.

This cafe is fantastic! They have a set up in which you wait in line and order before you grab a table. This can be stressful your first time here but dont worry, tables do open up. The food is absolutely delicious--their breakfast sandwich on a biscuit is one of their best items. The pricing is super reasonable (everything is between 8-13 dollars). Additionally, they have cold pressed coffee and hot homemade biscuits with jam. Lastly, the environment is great. It is located right on the beach and has a surfer/beach hut vibe. It is really a great brunch spot, one of the best in the Sunset.

Wow, now this is a smokin good place for food. I came here at noon for breakfast and had the daily Benedict. Today daily Benedict was a chicken n waffle benedict, omg right! Mimosa to top off the meal, there are so many yummy options im just gonna have to return. If you ever find yourself in the area of the Outer sunset district or not its worth the drive. Altho small, it is quant enough to please most but is especially inviting to the true foodies out there like myself. Trust me on this one its worthy of the 5 stars I give it, go n see for yourself.

Neat little brunch spot by the beach with urban chic décor. This place has a relaxing ambiance where you can eat some yummy food and drink a delicious latte. Every time I go here I have their salted caramel latte, a nice balance of flavor with a nice caffeine kick! The first time we came here, my partner ordered the chicken and waffles, which were delicious with saracha. I had the breakfast burrito, which had a nice balance of flavors. I have always had great, friendly service. This is a place you want to be a regular

If you planned on going to Outerlands and placed your name down only to be told itll be another hour, and then walked to trouble only to see another long line, then youll find your way here. Grab a seat outside the moment you see an opening and send someone to stand in line to place the orders. Brunch fare is decent, nothing too spectacular. If the weather is nice, its a good place to pick something up after giving up hope at the two aforementioned places. You can take a stroll to the beach afterwards too.

I stumbled into Beachside Cafe one morning after giving up on the outrageous wait for Outer Lands, and was more than pleasantly surprised. Warm atmosphere, excellent coffee, and the food is phenomenal. I think they even had... chicken & waffles on the menu? Awesome! I had the eggs benedict, and it was amazing. Now I go to Beachside Cafe without even a second glance towards that "other" restaurant. Maybe thats too harsh. Both are good, Beachside is better.

I can only speak for the fried chicken sandwich... It was okay. I guess since eating fried chicken in the South of the US, I expect a lot anywhere I go. The fried chicken here was ok, but didnt really rock my world, if ya know what i mean. Service is faster is you order to-go. My to-go order took less than 2 min, but some other people that ordered (to eat there) before me were still waiting :/
