An Elegy for Pegasus. What was once a truly venerable third-place between our homes and our places of work, whose walls held myriad event postings and flyers-- the heartbeat of a community composed of teachers and makers, healers and seekers, farmers and artists-- and whose atmosphere was worth the price of the bill [$$] though, most often, it was coffee and something to read or someone to meet, is now gone; Its worn, blue walls have been painted beige, sterile and spare as the hotel-art-- lifeless scenes of coffee beans-- hanging in place of Perseus and Andromeda. The Pegasus I knew wasnt perfect but it was good. And in the pursuit of perfection, that Pegasus was lost. A place, which had been something, now, could be anything and so, for some, and for myself may well heretofore be nothing.

This is my favorite coffee house on Bainbridge! I love the historic yet casual atmosphere. The patio is lovely in the summer with lots of landscaping. Its a great place to bring the kids, or hang out and have a drink after work. The downside is that the coffee and food are pricey, and there arent any good allergy friendly food options. The coffee is very good though, locally brewed. On the upside the staff is friendly and the Wi-Fi is good. They dont have a lot of parking, but their lot doesnt have a time limit which is nice on the island.

I went to Pegasus to buy coffee beans as I do regularly. I asked for 1/2 lb each of compatible regular and decaf beans, preferably from the latest delivery--3 days ago. The girl who helped me could not grasp what I wanted. At least she tried to help me. Her coworker who was sweeping the area kept looking over at me with a sullen, annoyed expression. I left without my beans. There was no sense of customer service having any value there. I got excellent service from the two guys who helped me the last two times I was there however.

After wandering around Winslow on an unexpectedly quiet Saturday night looking for a place to eat that was casual enough for a group with a baby and wasnt going to cost $20 for fish & chips, we were pleased to end up at Pegasus. They were friendly and accomodating; we had a very pleasant table out on their patio, and delicious sandwiches and entrees all for under $10 each. Id been there before for coffee and ice cream, and didnt realize the had a full menu.

Great coffee with a few interesting items on the menu that we were not fortunate enough to try. The baristas were polite and had a smile on their faces. While visiting seattle, if you decide to take a ferry to Bainbridge Island and youre a coffee lover, I would definitely suggest giving Pegasus Coffee House a visit.

I will not be back. The portion sizes are small, poorly prepared and very expensive. Most of the staff is unprofessional and unfriendly, its hard to get a smile out of them. The atmosphere is noisy and rather cramped. There are other options on the island for a latte and breakfast.

I like going to Pegasus. I often go alone and enjoy my book and my latte. They make the best mochas!!! The food is creative and locally sourced. I have enjoyed it all. They recently changed the seating arrangements and I am still trying to adjust to the change.

Excellent coffee and friendly service. The breakfasts are ok but very much overpriced for the size of the serving. You will not leave full - thats for sure. If there are alot of people in here - its extremely noisy and hard to converse.

Great coffee and superb lunch fare with an emphasis on farm to table cuisine. Lunch service can be slow, especially during tourist season, but the food is worth it. Nice outdoor patio with cafe seating - dog-friendly too.

Finally found good coffee after almost a week of on average really bad coffee that was strong but extremely lacking in aroma. The French press for two with blend selection is such a relief and the price is fair too.

Really nice people and good coffee. Their internet does not work. "It comes and goes." She said it has been like that as long as she has worked there. A Google search for "internet cafe" will hit this. It is not.

Friendly service, good tunes, delicious coffee and woodsy environment. Love sitting along the window seats looking out at the vibrant red flowers lining the outside of the window and beyond

Prime location right on harbor. Coffee simply tastes great. Staff are bright and friendly. I dare say a better experience than starbucks. Free wifi of course.

Slow-ish service; espresso wasnt great. But a nice cozy space and friendly baristas. Pistachio chocolate tart was good too.

The latte was all milk froth and very little coffee flavor. I asked for a double shot. Will not go back.
