I noticed a happy hour menu as I walked by Pizza Nova and thought Id give it a shot. I ordered their meatball app which included 6 golf ball sized meatballs on top of their marinara sauce. The parmesan? I was handed a standard faire glass shaker, a disappointment. I was expecting freshly grates parm, oh well. The appearance was good but once I sliced into a meatball and tasted it, it had the texture of processed meat, spongy, and flavorless. I also thought their marinara sauce was bland (weak), but I occasionally eat in NY & Philly so Im spoiled by real Italian marinara sauce. This was not definitely not it. You just cant fake great sauce. I ate 2 of the sponge balls since I was paying $8 with the disct (overpriced). Next I ordered their happy hour pizza, $7?, which I have to assume is the kids pizza which was a perfect size for an HR snack. It was OK. The sauce, already mentioned that. Crust, was OK. Cheese was fine. Service was good. Cleanliness? Hum. I was staring at a long black hair on the bar top about 12" from me for a good 10mins. I was trying to give hints to the BT but she must of just thought I had a nervous twitch so ignored me. I finally pointed and she immediately wiped the area down. Essentially this place tasted corporate. If the prices werent happy hour, I would have kept walking. I know I was in SoCal but the prices were still excessively high for what I ordered. It was clean minus the hair, that was not a deal breaker. The BT was very nice and again, maybe thought I had an issue with my nodding, no harm, no foul. Take my comments for what theyre worth. You may love this place. Good luck.

Pizza Nova is SO good! We stayed at the Best Western Yacht Harbor across the street, so eating here for lunch and dinner was an obvious choice. The great reviews also helped us make our decision. The garlic rolls they give are seriously delicious. I got shrimp Alfredo which was fabulous, my fiancé got the pepperoni and mushroom pizza which was so tasty. We shared their house salad with candied walnuts, apples, dried cranberries, and a surprisingly not sweet vinaigrette to offset the sweet ingredients. We went again the next day while we were visiting San Diego and I got the lobster bisque...just YUM! I also got a southwestern chicken salad with roasted red peppers and a delicious vinaigrette, while my fiancé had the lasagna, which was huge and amazing. They have a good selection of local beers and a decent cocktail list. Pizza Nova has a great location on the Yacht Harbor in Point Loma, palette-style wooden walls, spherical glass hanging terrariums, bistro lights upstairs, and friendly servers. Win win win all-around!

Was in town for a few nights, had traveled most of the day coming from the east coast. Ordered for delivery a 10 inch bar-b-q chicken pizza ($14.00) and a half house salad ($8.00). Pizza was pretty tasty, but could of had a little more chicken and cheese. The salad was a nice surprise with mixed greens, crumbled blue cheese, sugar coated walnut and dried cranberries. The salad also came with sour dough balls...yummy. Overall food was a 3.5 to 4. The price with delivery was $26.00, a little high in my book. (Did not include tip). Id order again, but the price is to steep for what youre getting, so I probably wont order again. Price pulls rating down to a 3... Under $20.00 I would order again and rate higher. :-)

Nice cozy lunch for me. I sat by the window to enjoy the bayside scenery. Remarkable especially at sunset. Sipped on their Double Nut Brown craft beer (tastes like Guinness but has a nice nutty/Amber taste) and relaxed with a personal portion of my lunch special - Margarita Pizza, which was yummy itself. Used a dab of sea salt (condiments at table) and the taste led me to looking down at an empty plate before I even knew how much I had eaten! Looking to my right I see they have an original BRICK OVEN cooler for the delicious pizza they have here. I love that BRICK OVEN taste... Crispy on bottom and a mouthful of meltiness in the top :)

The place is beautiful and in a great harbor location. I was visiting San Diego on vacation and was very excited to go here after reading the reviews. The food looked awesome but unfortunately it was not. The famous pizza balls people raved about were heavy and doughy without much flavour. I ate one and left the rest to save my appetite for the pizza. It arrived and I could barely get past the smell. The cheese smelled like old gym socks. The mushrooms tasted like they were old. I did not eat much of this either. Very disappointed

I must first say that I LOVE Pizza Nova. I work within walking distance to their Hillcrest location and after my first time there I quickly became obsessed with their food. So I was in Point Loma one night and decided to stop at their restaurant there. Boy was I disappointed! The pizza was like cardboard and their signature garlic rolls were so undercooked, I swear the dough was still raw. Do yourself a favor and if you want to have a positive impression of this place, go to their location in Hillcrest instead!

I eat there every time I go to San Diego and have always had amazing food. The service is always at least good and usually great. I eat at Italian restaurants everywhere I go and this is tied for number one on my list with Kauai Pasta on the island of Kauai. I have referred Pizza Nova to everyone I know and every one that has tried it loves it. My sister even loves it and she is generally impossible to please. Its hard to find restaurants that can consistently deliver great food anymore.

Stopped by for lunch on a whim. Ordered salad and pizza combo. Im not much of a salad guy but this was one of the best Ive ever had. the personal pizza was everything a pizza should be, crispy, cheesy, tasty. My friend ordered a pizza with an "unhealthy amount" of garlic and they not only complied but made it look pretty decent, he loved it. Bottom Line: its a little pricey, but worth your money, go check it out.

We enjoyed this restaurant as a family. Kid friendly - kids menu, crayons/paper available. Simple menu, good food. Individual sized pizza. Service with a smile. Outdoor eating available next to a soothing fountain. Harbor views both indoor and out. Occasional views of jets taking off from the naval base is a plus for little (and big) boys. Right across the street from Holiday Inn and Best Western.

LOVE this place. They give you these amazing little garlic bread balls that I cant stay away from. Only downside is their pizza can sometimes be extremely greasy. I usually get the pasta though which I have no complaints about. You can also bring your dog and sit outside. Even when its cold, we bring the dog along because they have heaters outside that keep you nice and toasty.

Our Server Carly was awesome! Super friendly and definitely kept making sure we were ok. Showed us how to receive a discount through the Thanx app, and we got a free appetizer! The food was great, loved the Pizza Nova Pizza. Fresh Salmon, and portions are generous. Love the view from the booth, all in all great place to come eat if youre visiting.
