A co-worker of mine (a graphics guy) had been telling me about a Pulp-Fiction-like 50’s restaurant down in San Diego, and the way he described it, I had to go to at least TRY it, myself. It was EXACTLY like the description!! The entire diner was set with 50’s memorabilia that had me thinking we landed on the set of Grease! All of the servers were made up to look like silver screen stars, like Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Audrey Hepburn and James Dean!! On top of all the spectacle of flashbacks that had our eyes wandering for a good minute, the food was AMAZING!! They actually had a money-back, guaranteed PEANUT BUTTER BURGER!!! I had to actually debate on it and kept asking details, but decided to take the guarantee challenge and DO NOT REGRET IT ONE BIT!! That was one of the most surprisingly taste burgers ever! Along with the food and eye candy, the service was truly great and entertaining!! They all seemed so fun and welcoming, and after having our meal, they actually even tossed us a couple BAZOOKA JOE GUMPACKS!! I have not even seen those gum packs in I don’t know how long. Definitely a place I will be returning to!! Recommend trying it out, and dare you to take their PB BURGER challenge yourself!!

We tried out the Corvette Diner in its new location tonight. I keep a list of places I never need to go again and the corvette diner is now officially on it. The atmosphere is loud and the food is below average. The waitress did not bring the correct beer and forgot to give us straws for the kids drinks. My husband asked if they have hot wings and was told yes but what was given to him was fried chicken strips with buffalo sauce - not the same thing. Also, it was out daughters birthday which we mentioned to the hostess and to the waitress but absolutely no recognition was made of that even though happy birthday was sung to nearby tables. We had to chase the balloon guy down and basically bribe hime (read give him a $7 tip) to make 1 balloon for our birthday girl. She wanted a giraffe. He tried twice and broke the balloon twice then suggested and made a monkey for her and complained about how long he had been there and how he had both a headache and a stomach ache while he was making it. All in all a below average experience for an above average price!

This was the first (and last) time my family has been to Corvette Diner. Weve been to 50s inspired eateries before and they were nothing line this. Corvette is loud and over the top. The burgers are WAY overcooked and "side car tin" that comes with your $6 shake is a joke. There was barely two spoons worth of shake in it. Basically, they could have left off the whip cream in the glass and what was left in the tin would have fit. We were seated in probably the worst part of the restaurant, in this glow in the dark, make love not war room which seemed even louder because there was so much echo. This is supposed to be a family place... Well, as long as you have zero interest in speaking to your family this is far from family friendly. If you want to test your infant or small child for a sensory overload disability this is the perfect place. For the older kids, expect to leave with trash in their hair because the waitresses go around putting giant straw "bows" in their hair. Did I mention the balloon artist....?

This place is definitely an upbeat and fun restaurant for families and groups... and for that, youll probably have to wait almost 45 minutes on a Saturday night to get seated like we did tonight. Thankfully, theres quite a bit of outside garden seating areas where you can wait comfortably with your buzzer. Our table ordered a California Dreamin and Buffalo Blue burger, a French dip sandwich, and a chicken fried steak. Aside from two of those orders having something wrong with them, we all thought our meals were pretty average. Service was pretty subpar... our waitress only really came by to take our drink orders and to drop off the check. I guess I cant blame her too much since she had to dance for a bit with the rest of the staff, but we were right in front of her and she never came by afterward. Overall though, a lot of kids seemed to be having fun with the balloon folks and large pink cotton candy. So if you have a reservation and a few kids, youll probably enjoy this place!

This used to be next to the Mercy hospital and had better clientel. Ordered the chicken parmesan (yucky), the mashed potatoes were ok. The gravy was too spicy with pepper and had zero flavor. Ordered an oreo shake and it barely had an oreos. Coffee was so bitter even salt wouldnt fix it. Ordered a hot choc and it was made with hersheys syrup (really??). Service sucked. It was so loud we got our order to go, and left most of it, as it wasnt worth taking. Kids were screaming at the top of their lungs and parents didnt care because they were drinking. SUPER LOUD!! Ranch dressing however was fabulous. This used to be a gem and held wonderful memories for us as we have eaten here for many years. Since they have moved, it is not worth going there ever again. Just horrible!! If you have small kids that you want to scream and be wild this is your place. But if you are looking for good food and something more peaceful go somewhere else. Very sad!!

In San Diego for a family trip. Wanted to check out Liberty Station and was told that this place was great for families. While this kids enjoyed it we had a terrible experience. Over the top loud so you cant even begin the have any type of conversation without shouting at each other. Got seated in a section where it looked like they had bussed five tables into one behind us and then let it sit pulled up for 15 minutes while we waited to have our order taken and had to look at it. There was food & trash all over the floors, my French Dip came out with no au jous and when I asked for it he said hed be right back. Never saw him again. Halfway through my sandwich I noticed something strange as I was about to take my next bite. It was wax paper all stuck to my melted cheese - nasty! Took forever for our waitress to come back and check on us. Overall a complete waste of a good meal opportunity while vacationing in San Diego!!

To management!!! - Ive sporadicly come to Corvette Diner since 1989. Sad to see what its become. Used to play music to the 50s theme, now "blare" popular songs at a decibel level uncomfortable for any conversation from any era including last year. Servers used to entertain every 15-20 min with a cute song and dance or occasional birthday song, that has been replaced with "how loud can I yell" servers. Totally obnoxious to all patrons Table near us asked to be moved away from the part they came in with because music and servers were too loud, but still, when the "Birthday Song" came up you still had a mother and father covering the ears of their two young children because the servers were yelling the song with no melody to it what so ever. Food was good - Plz get back to 50s music at a respectable decibel level and just sing happy birthday or whatever song - yelling not needed!!!
