Ive changed my mind about this place! Say hello to your new happy hour regular! Stopped by Cafeteria 15L because they are one of the few restaurants that has a happy hour that runs past 6:00PM. I dont get off work till 5:00PM, so I wanted someplace to maximize my time spent. Came here with a few friends and we ended up staying for almost three hours! I lost count on how many rounds from the bar we had but we definitely had our fair share of drinks and appetizers that night. Let me start with our munchies. We ordered the Trio of Fries, the Patty Melt Sliders, the Spicy Ahi Tuna Poke, the Mac and Cheese, and the Salt and Pepper Calamari. The Trio of Fries, what is there to be said? Everybody who comes to Cafeteria 15L knows that these fries are ridiculously delicious and super amazing because they are written about in almost everyones reviews. If you didnt know, well, you should. =] The Patty Melt Sliders were equally just as amazing. The boys in our group were addicted to these, so we ended up ordering three of these. Three come on a plate and they definitely are the definition of a slider (small), but the flavor was very good. The onions were sweet, the patty was juicy, and the rye added a nice texture and zing to wrap the whole thing together. The Spicy Ahi Tuna Poke was surprisingly delicious. I was extremely pleased with this appetizer as the Ahi Tuna wasnt fishy in flavor at all. In fact, the avocado, orange, and radish mixed into the tuna gave it a sweet flavor, which complimented the spiciness of the dish. Add in the wonton chips and you have a wonderful combination of crunchy texture and sweet/ spicy flavors. The Salt and Pepper Calamari was probably one of my least favorite during my night of eating and drinking. The Calamari came out hot, but it lacked a crunchy texture and was a bit on the bland side. Ive had good calamari at so many places that I thought it was impossible to serve bad calamari, Apparently, I was wrong. Lastly, the Mac and Cheese appetizer. It came out in a cast iron plate was insanely hot, temperature wise. We had to let it sit for at least five minutes before we even considered touching it to our lips. I was really happy that Cafeteria 15L used pasta shells instead of elbow pasta for the mac and cheese, however, the flavor of the cheese sauce was a bit lacking. It was slightly bland in flavor and could have used a stronger, sharper cheese to give it a little extra "pow". In addition, the pasta was cooked a little too long for my liking, so I would have liked a little firmer pasta for better texture. On to the drinks. That evening, I sampled three of their signature cocktails; the Pom-Pom, Girls Best Friend, and Brazilian Nights. The Pom-Pom had a wonderful pomegranate flavor, but it was a bit overpowered by the Blueberry Stoli. I like blueberries, but I would have liked to have seen the pomegranate flavor highlighted a bit more in this drink. The alcohol flavor was subtle, for the most part, but it definitely would sit on the back of your tongue for a while after you finished sipping this drink. A decent choice for happy hour sampling. The Girls Best Friend was certainly a fitting name for this beverage. Served in a champagne glass and pink in color, I liked the fruity flavor of this drink. It wasnt too sweet and the alcohol taste was most definitely bearable for a beginner. I dont really like carbonated beverages, so the champagne wasnt exactly my first choice, but this definitely was my favorite cocktail of the evening. Lastly, the Brazilian nights cocktail was my least favorite drink of the night. The Blackberry flavor mixed with the rum and topped with soda water made this drink taste like a menthol cough drop, It was not happening at all! Good thing boys arent as picky with their drinks as they helped finish this beverage best served as cough medicine.

Let me start with the decor, its awesome. The space is open and inviting. It has a large bar, and both indoor and outdoor lounge style areas w/ couches chairs, tables, etc. A real pleasant waiting spot if tables are full :) My party of 3 arrived on a Saturday right around Noon, and were seated outside upon request. They initially didnt offer it outside because the tables were currently in the sun, but we didnt really mind and once asked for they were quick to comply. Since it was Saturday, that means it was Brunch time. So we got to order from the Brunch Menu. The following items were ordered: Trio of Fries -These were very good, all 3 of them. Crispy and full of flavor. My personal favorite was the Sweet Potato, but the other 2 options were also good. And you got a ton of Fries, just like you should for a fry appetizer. Chicken & Waffles -Full of flavor. The Chicken was crispy and moist. The waffle was well cooked and the maple pecan butter was full of flavor. And to top it off the gravy was creamy and peppery. Seared Ahi Tuna Sala -My wife got this and she enjoyed the dish. She did report that it was a bit salty in some spots though, but she ate most of it, so Im not dropping the score. Kids Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup -My daughter got these, and her reports were pretty positive. She ate the whole grilled cheese, which is kind of a rarity. The Price for everything was fair in my opinion as well. Id definitely return here.

My family and I had a good, if pricey meal on a hot Summer night after a lengthy negotiation as to where. The mixed green salad with dates, pecans, and goat cheese came with a lovely creamy but not thick vinaigrette. The service was lovely and attentive without being intrusive, and accommodated my kids desire to split the ribeye entree, which was perfectly cooked and had a nice pineapple-soy sauce. My prime rib was a choice medium rare cut served with buttery garlic mashed potatoes. The only down side was that the prime rib was swimming in au jus while I prefer sauce and horseradish separate. Chicken strips were plump, tender and the server didnt blink when my husband asked for maple syrup in addition to the Thai chili and ranch dressing dipping sauces. The grilled artichoke was unfortunately dry, and couldve used an olive oil basting. (Too few places know how to grill artichoke correctly, and if the dish shouldnt need bread crumbs if the produce is good quality. Drinks were quite tasty, including a refreshing raspberry fizz mocktail that warranted seconds. A solid meal.

I went here last night before going to the movies. The food was not good. I guess it wasnt horrid, but that should be no standard for a restaurant. We had the Trio of Fries, which was good. The only thing that was good. Garlic, Sweet Potato, and BBQ (Powder) Fries. That was good, shoe string fries. For entries we had Braised Short Rib, Salmon, and the Meatloaf. First the Short Rib had no rib in it, who knows where the meet was from? I guess it could of been short rib. It was also overcooked and dry. I tried to eat the sauce but it was like sucking on a cube of salt. The veggies that it was on was very unspectacular. The Salmon was over cooked and dry, and really nothing special. I feel like I could of nuked that quality dish. The Meatloaf was terrible. It was obviously microwaved because the crust was hard. Flavor was nothing to rave about. We spent 75 including tip for our meal, and it felt like we could of just stayed home with some instant dinners and be happier.
