This beautiful place is a must if you like Indian food. It reminded us of a place in the big city as it was decorated so nice. But not only is this place appealing to the eye it is also very clean, offers great friendly service, and food is absolutely amazing! We had the seafood platter and chicken vindaloo. We love spicy so we asked for spicy. The flavors were perfect and the two dishes were more than enough for two. Waiter even offered a big extra helping of rice to go with our left overs. As a fisherman I must say the salmon was to die for. It was cooked to perfection and the prawns that it came with were exceptional. The chicken vindaloo was great as well. However with so many items on the menu we cant wait to come back. However that seafood platter is something we will always order because it was amazing. Everyone at the nearby tables were starring out our sea food platter when it came out wishing they had it. Trust me its amazing!!

Excellent, authentic tasting Indian food. Im only giving it 3 stars for a few reasons. First, its quite pricey. I guess you get what you pay for, but I prefer a variety of foods, and you arent going to get that here. Everything is full meals for at least $12 a pop. My biggest reason for the 3 stars is the SLOW service. I went there for lunch one day. There were only 2 other small tables being occupied when we arrived. It literally took our table 3 times to tell the server we were ready to order and an HOUR to get our orders in, and an additional 20 minutes to get our food. Needless to say, by the time we got our food, we were scarfing it down as we were packing it up to go. When we asked about coupons, the staff was quite rude and strick about a 1 coupon OR Groupon OR special per table, no matter how the bill was split, which seemed a little excessive after taking soooo freaking long to get our food.

I absolutely love this place! I came here with a few friends when they had a special Google Offer. $10 for $20 worth of food, and oh my goodness was it plentiful and delicious! We ordered everything a la carte (or family style). There were 5 in our party, and with 4 dishes with rice and naan we were stuffed. Our dinner included the tandoori chicken, Lal Maas (lamb), vegetable biryani (stir-fry rice), and my favorite the chicken tikka masala. Ive been to a handful of Indian restaurants and although each restaurant had a couple of good dishes, Bombay Bar and Grill is by far the best Ive been. Tasty and authentic, Im definitely coming back!

I dine quite a lot at Indian restaurants whenever i am in a new city. This is the best Indian restaurant in Sacramento. We are not from here, but figured there was a good Indian restaurant somewhere in the area. We decided to try this restaurant out for dinner based on the overall reviews. The food was very tasty and not dry at all. The service was a little slow considering the restaurant was not full. We dined with some close friends and their children. We did not get water refills until I flagged the waiter down. Other than that, the waiter kept on checking on us if we needed anything else. It was a very good choice to dine here.

This is a great restaurant! My girlfriend and I are regulars here and their food is amazing. The servers and bartenders that are usually there are very friendly and helpful when it comes to recommendations. The restaurant itself has a casual yet sophisticated feel to it so when we come in on weekdays dressed down or on the weekends before a night out we never feel under/over-dressed. Belly Dancers (Bollywood dancers) on Saturday nights make it a fun place to have dinner with a group of friends. Considering their selection on free-range meat and fresh ingredients we have find their prices affordable.

Gave Bombay a shot as our regular Indian restaurant was closed. Have to be honest and say we were quite disappointed. It would appear they have Americanized the food to maybe attract a crowd unfamiliar with a more authentic Indian food experience. I understand the thought behind this but this is far from anything I have eaten before. If you are looking for a more authentic experience look elsewhere. If youre looking for an americanized version of Indian food give it a shot.

Just ate there last night its rated best Indian in sac Ive honestly had better pre packaged Indian food from Costco. Ive been to a few Indian restraunts and this one was the worst there food was so bland no spice at all and we ordered medium spice. The nan was good. Service was also horrible. They also should get new high chairs I didnt even want to sit my baby in it it was so wobbly the screws were lose and almost falling out! Waste of money and very disappointing!

A quiet, nice, out-of-the way Midtown spot with excellent food and prompt and friendly service. They offer an extensive menu of dishes, with meat, vegetarian, and vegan options. The food is served fresh (the Naan piping hot). Theres a full bar to enjoy your meal with a cocktail. Soft lighting, but not dim. Meals are a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Small location, but ample seating. Give them a try.

Food was good. Service was spotty. Waiter took drink menu after I told him I didnt want a drink yet. Vegetarian sampler was tasty but portions were small. Chutney was not served without multiple requests. In the end I got the mint and tamarind chutneys I wanted but I had to say something multiple times. Expensive for one vegetarian meal out. Coconut cosmo was delicious!

I was there for a family birthday and I loved every part of the meal! the food was hot and fantastic and the service was amazing! The chicken masala is the best I have ever had and the naan was so freshly baked it was still warm and soft. When you go, ask for Amit! He was so attentive and helpful I cant wait to go back just to hear more of his wonderful suggestions!

Service was awful. Server had a ton of attitude and brought hot water in a glass with napkins around it, and when asked to bring a cup said that we should hold with napkins and drink it like that. Food portions on appetizers were exteremely small. Lamb Maas was too spicy and had no flavor. Midtown high prices but bad service and food. Spend your money elsewhere!

Atmosphere and service are better than most indian places in the area. However the food is nowhere near authentic. We ordered chicken tikka and chicken biryani but they seemed to lack spicy indian flavor you would expect. Dishes are westernized if you will. For the food, the price is too high. You can definitely find better indian food in other restaurant in town

Picked up order. Had the Chicken Curry, Chicken Vindaloo (spicy), 2 orders of steamed Basmati Rice and 2 orders of Naan. Wife and I were hungry, we were delighted and full at the end of the meal. Portion sizes allowed us to reheat the left overs and enjoy a second meal, although with no Naan, that was gone the first day.
