Honestly, La Huaca deserves some credit for its beautiful atmosphere and decent service (most certainly not the best). However, they should not have any credit for the food. I can deal with high prices and good food. But the food here was horrible, salty, and not an authentic Peruvian restaurant. If you want good authentic Peruvian restaurant go to San Francisco or San Mateo. Las time I got aji de gallina it was bad and the usual recipe does not have Parmesan cheese, I also got the Pachamama and the sweet potato tasted like it has been out for days. If you ask for aji expect to get a pinch and it is not the typical green aji. It is a very decent place, but the food was not good and too expensive. Not worth it!!!!!

FANTASTIC!!! Today (mothers day) we were going to get some frozen yogurt next door and decided to pick up some ceviche as well... We didnt realize that they were not taking to go orders and it was reservation only, not to mention absolutely packed! Hostess was kinda like sorry, maybe tomorrow but the young man who appeared to be helping with seating, serving, greeting etc.stepped in and filled our order! Every time we come here we are blown away by the exemplary customer service! Oh yeah, the food is super fresh and just amazing. I cant say enough good things about this place.

I had the Salmon del Sur and absolutely loved it. Ive never had a more perfectly cooked and flavorful salmon, and to complement it there was a flavorful bed of quinua and a side of asparagus, artichoke hearts, baby corn and tomatoes. The flavors were very light and refreshing and I would highly recommend it. My boyfriend had a filet mignon dish and couldnt believe how tender it was. Add in the great service that we received and the beautiful ambience, this place is now a favorite for a nice night out.

Went here for mothers day. It was extremely busy, which is to be expected. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was great, and the service was outstanding. Only thing I noticed was, that they didnt seem to be ready for mothers day. They were struggling to find enough menus for everyone, but the restaurant wasnt even completely full. There was also this noise that I believe was from a mixer of some sort. That aside, the overall experience was great. Would definitely come here again.

Great place! Food was just perfect - not too heavy, not too fried, authentic and also healthy! Size of the portions was a bit too large for the European customers, but we took the left overs home. I highly recommend their Sea food dish as a starter and try the Lamb shank for the main course! Wait stuff was friendly and helpful and the ambiance was very pleasant. We are definitely going back there soon.

Ive been to La Huaca a number of times, and usually tend to enjoy it. If you havent been before youll enjoy a taste of Peruvian food. Try some of the unique dishes and drinks. I love the Chicha Morada (purple corn drink) and the Ceviche is great. My only complaint is that over the years I think the menu hasnt changed at all, so its a place you want to go to only if you know you want what they serve.

We were looking for something new and found La Huaca. Wonderful food, great service, and must try Pisco Sours. They have a good variety of foods even if you arent adventurous into Peruvian style. I love ceviche and the Ceviche Mediterraneo is a wonderful fusion. The four of us each had something different and all truly enjoyed our meal. We had a delightful evening at La Huaca and will go back.

I may be spoiled by midtown restaurants, but the food did not justify the price. No one in our party was particularly impressed by their dish. Service was hit and miss. Everyone was polite and helpful, but two of our drinks were forgotten which forced us to go to the bar to ask about them. At one point a server asked my friend if she was my daughters grandmother, which did not go over well.

My wife is Peruvian and said this is a very good Peruvian restaurant. We would give them 5 stars, but the causa was really salty. EVERYTHING else was great! Pisco Sours, ceviche, chaufa, anticuchos, and chicha morada, were all very authentic. We would definitely recommend! Ask the servers for cuisine suggestions. Dont be like a stupid American and order what looks safe to you!

La Huaca is an amazing little restaurant with incredible service and impeccable food. I have yet to try something here that I have not loved and/or would recommend. I am 15 and quite the foody for my age, but everything here is worth every penny spent. Everyone should give this place a chance, if only for something new, or because this is quite the perfected establishment.

Decor is awesome. Food is tasty, but doesnt seem very authentic; some dishes more than others. Waiter played down the size of the dishes, and almost talked us out of a great-tasting causa, saying it was an appetizer, while it was misleadingly located in the menus entrée section. There is definite potential for this adorable place, though. Ill give it another shot soon.

So delicious!! We go anytime we are in the Roseville area and sometimes drive all the way from South Sac just because I am craving their ceviche. The flavors are so bright and fresh you just cant imagine-- you have to try it! The prices are reasonable because the portions are large. The service is always thoughtful, considerate and charming as well.

Service is good, friendly. Back in the kitchen, pretty bad. Food was way too salty. Chicha Morada was too sweet. I tried so many Peruvian restaurants in southern California and the food was OK, even though service ranges from excellent to awful. Appetizer was good, enough to get into the mood for more food. Wont be back.

Had a wonderful dinner, and an awesome time. The waiters and management was very attentive and helpful, as we werent sure what the menu was.. Fernando Rios plays guitar and sings nice mellow music in Spanish and English it made our evening very special...we are already planning to go back again with more friends!

Incredible service and great Peruvian cuisine. If you want to impress a date with your cultural awareness, you should take them here, because I guarantee they likely have not had Peruvian food before. The staff is amazingly attentive and enjoy giving tidbits about the cuisine and samples of their Pisco Sours
