Worst experience ever. My wife and I ordered first round of all you can eat and had spicy scallop hand rolls. The scallop hand rolls were not very good and to make them spicy they just squirted a bunch of rooster sauce on them. The rice soaked up most of the sauce so we picked around and ate the scallops in an attempt to not waste food. There was 2-3 bites of rice left and the waitress explain they would have to charge us extra for wasting food. I explained to her what had happened and her reply was "Its their policy". Mind you we had many other dishes with rice which were completely consumed. I asked to talk to their so called manager and she was just as dimwitted in her response. So then the chef yelled over to me while I was waiting for 2nd round that he would go easy on the rice. I said "excuse me are you talking to me?" He said yes. So I then explained to him the problem was not the rice but the amount of sauce he put on. And my thought was why is a chef yelling over to my table. At that point I was done eating there and the manager wanted to charge full price for the food we ate even though we only got one round and less than hospitable service. To sum it up they lost a semi regular customer over 2-3 bites of rice. Thats incredibly stupid. The manager was completely inept and had no clue how to deal with the situation and should be properly trained or Im quite sure they will experience many more unhappy customers.

Enjoyed the sushi at this establishment. Tried the all you can eat option. Sushi was excellent, though most people will be better off ordering the rolls individually (cheaper). It would be nice if they had a discounted all you can eat option for two (i.e. $40 for two people). Service was excellent, and they brought several free samples throughout the meal. My guess is that they only do that for the all you can eat patrons, though they didnt mind that I shared it with the table. Only other thought... the rolls should come in orders of two pieces (with the all you can eat option). People basically choose all you can eat to try multiple items. This also resolves the wasted food problem. They have a note that youll be charged extra for wasting rice or excess food.... This is problematic for many reasons and will ultimately drag down reviews if they enforce this rule. But my guess is that they arent overly harsh (I had left over items unfinished, with no extra charge). Great place! Give it a try!!

Went for the first time on a Monday, got the AYCE sushi, and was happy to see it only cost about $17 per person. It was the lunch special, which I believe ends at 3pm, and I arrived at 230pm.. The sushi itself was pretty basic. Nothing too fancy, and pretty much exactly what you would expect from an AYCE establishment. The servers were fast, friendly, and polite. Normally, a solid 3 star review when it comes to the taste of the sushi, but because it is cheaper than most AYCE sushi places, and the service was on point, I gave it that extra star. Definitely worth coming back to. Update: my review previous to this update was written over a year ago. Since then the quality of sushi and delicious varieties have gone up. The prices remained basically the same, which makes this place well deserving of 5 stars. I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Went there earlier today for a late Fathers Day lunch. This is an Excellent place! Dont be fooled by the non attractive sign. Its everything youd expect out of a sushi joint as well as a quick and easy poki entree walk-by for quick lunches or take out dinner. Sushi bar with ample seating as well as plenty of table dining. TVs lining the sushi bar as well. A man whom I can only guess was the owner was there today. He personally delivered a bagged Tshirt and a happy Fathers Day balloon to all those he could see were fathers. That was a very pleasant surprise. Portions of fish were large and tasted amazing. It was Good food and a good experience. This is my new go to spot in riverside.

I first came into Taiyos Sushi to treat my sister to sushi, it was our first time there and I absolutely loved it! The staff was very attentive, and the all you can eat very really reasonably priced! Everything was made fresh and to perfection, the Hawaiian Roll is amazing! Special shout out to the mussels, and Golden Tiger Roll! I was even able to land a job there as well, and the owner along with the rest of the staff really makes the place feel like home! If youre thinking sushi, or even Poki. Think Taiyos Sushi and Poki!

I really enjoy this place. I especially love that they have Japanese pickles as a Poki topping! I have had the sushi too. I am picky about Taki and Salmon skin rolls, and let me tell you, they make them right! (With a decent size pickled carrot) The service has been friendly and the food good. The garlic edamame is amazing and I have been pleased with the Udon as well. I guess I could go on... but I wont... except about my appreciation for a decent Sake selection, keep the Sake selection decent!

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The service was wonderful and the food was even better. We ordered all you can eat, the prices were comparable to others in the area. The fish was extremely fresh, the restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere was really nice. It was also very spacious compared to other sushi places in town. The food came out very quickly and I also saw that they have beer dispensers for the table. We definitely will be back and we found our new favorite place!!!

The sushi was amazing and looks as great as it tasted great presentation. Our server was very prompt in taking our orders. While we waited for out first round a young man came to our table to recomend us the baked muscle, which we tried and OMG it was amazing thank you sir. We sadly only made it two round of sushi I was stuffed next time I go I wont eat all day at all to eat as much as I can. Will come again soon.

This place is by far one of the best sushi bars in town! Service is great, prices are competitive, and everything is kept fresh. My deepest regret is not thinking to take a few pictures of the food when it came out...as well as ordering way to much. But luckily the all-you-can-eat option didnt have a time limit, so my partner and I were able to muscle the rest of our food down before leaving.

Just left there on a Sunday afternoon after having all you can eat. Almost $26. The food was good but after our first round the staff disappeared. There was only 4 tables seated and at times we were all looking around for a server. Twice I watched my rolls get delivered to a different table and then picked up and brought to my table.

I went here one night with my brother. We both have tried all the sushi places throughout riverside area. This place was very fresh, everything was made to order. Tired the poki bowl which will be my favorite lunch during the weekend. There a must try for all sushi lovers. Prices are average for sushi and AYCE
