Opening Day - Definitely coming back. They opened on 2/3/17 so thought Id go down and give it a try at lunch. They werent quite ready at 11:30 so I went back at 2:30 pm. I ordered some food to share with the office. We got fish and chips with the New Zealand ocean perch, the Louisiana Catfish (and chips), and then 4 tempura jumbo shrimp. The first thing that caught me was the price. The price is extremely reasonable. All three items were less than $20 together. I waited about 8 minutes for the food to cook up. That seemed pretty speedy. When I got back to the office and opened the boxes, they contained the following: 1. 4 pieces of tempura jumbo shrimp. They were of good size and one of my coworkers was excited that they actually cleaned out the shrimp correctly. 2. 4 pieces of ocean perch and a couple handfuls of fries. 3. 4 pieces of catfish and a couple handfuls of fries. 4. 2 small containers of tartar sauce 5. 2 small containers of Franks Red Hot sauce 6. A medium container of Cole Slaw 7. Napkins It looked good, so we got some plates and took what we wanted. I love shrimp so that was the first thing I tried. It not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. Light batter, good quality shrimp. Then I tried the perch and chips. Again, light batter, juicy fish, good tasting overall. Fries were done just right, not soggy but not super crispy. My co-worker who had the catfish said it reminded her of being in Mississippi. Well definitely be back. When replacing a historic business like The Mug, its nice when the new place lives up to those expectations.

Nice little place. Food was priced very fair. The service is prompt, polite, and friendly. See the pics I posted of their fish n chips, 5 nice sized pieces of fish, crispy fries not overcooked. And only $6.50 per order. I was expecting higher prices for this quality . I only give it 4 stars because a cold pint of ale would have been good, but they dont serve beer or spirits. Otherwise this is a great place to come and I will return again.

Not the best fish house and not the worst. Basket of shrimp was really good and the clan chowder was better than okay. The kids meal is not really for kids. His hush puppies were jalapeño spiced. Fish and chips was greasy and mushy. But the bathroom has been remodeled. Over all it deserved a 3 from me
