Before I start my review, Id like to state that I expect the owner of this "restaurant" to attack me with false claims. Thats how customer service works at Taps. (UPDATE: THE OWNER DID IN FACT VERBALLY ATTACK ME) ---Update/reply: As expected, the owner of this crappy restaurant replied with accusations and no apology. To him I say, Eric, I am not Travis (you can note my active history on both Yelp and Google). I am a former customer of yours and am now appalled with the business you run. Reviews of your establishment show that I am not alone in my lack of satisfaction with the service from you and your employees. "Please just go away", huh, weird, thats what we wanted to do when we had to literally waste over an hour of our lives to pay the tab. Is zero stars an option? No? Well I guess Ill give this craptastic restaurant one star just so I can tell my fellow Yelpers what a joke this establishment is. Oh, you want beer? Okay, well theyre probably out of the one you want. Food? Mediocre at best. Actually, their hot wings are hot. I guess they did earn the one star you see listed above. Service? So far beyond bad. We arrived at 6:45 on a Saturday as a party of 8, with reservations. Wed finished eating our crappy food and drinking our overpriced beers by 8. We were unable to leave this unpleasant establishment until 9:30 because they made it an incredible challenge to pay them. Not exaggerating here, it literally took over an hour to pay our bill. I had to walk outside on several occasions to avoid making a scene. When we explained to the waitress, in very logical fashion, what she could do to help us, she repetitively explained, "Im trying to help you, tell me what I can do to help you." Well, you can make it easy for me to pay you. In response, "Im trying to help you, tell me what I can do to help you." She was a broken and annoying record. We asked to speak to her manager, which turned out to be a mistake. That fool doesnt understand the first thing about food SERVICE. Direct message to him here (I hope youre reading this, you doufus), Do: listen to your customers, ensure that their experience is enjoyable, reprimand your staff when theyre rude to the folks paying your salary, and use breath mints; Dont: make it a challenge for your customers to pay your establishment, let your staff treat your customers like garbage. Lastly, and Ill admit this is a parting shot, but I gotta get it in, the hostess. She was aggressive, rude, and condescending. Perhaps this is her first job and the empowerment which comes with being a hostess at a zero star establishment went to her head, but thats not justification to talk to actual adults with the entitled attitude that mustve been cool in high school. I could go on about this, but suffice it to say that even though theyre only paying her minimum wage, shell still be able to afford to buy a better personality. ZERO STARS, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND, EAT/DRINK OUT OF THE GUTTER BEFORE TRYING TO GIVE THIS ESTABLISHMENT MONEY...I SAY TRYING, BECAUSE THEYLL MAKE IT NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE.

I dined at this restaurant last night and we found the staff to be extremely rude. We arrived a little early with a reservation for 8 people. We had to wait a little bit so some of us went outside to get fresh air and a couple of people were vaping e-cigarettes outside of the entrance. The hostess came out and informed us that we had to be 25 feet away from the entrance to smoke. The devices were stowed and no more vaping occurred. Shortly, the hostess comes out yelling that we had to be 25 feet away. We were not doing it anymore yet she is still screeching at us. Not a good start. Next, we get our table, there are 8 of us and we all had dinner and beers. The waitress drops a bulk check on us without even asking if we were separate checks. We ask her to split it up and she got really defensive and was yelling at us. What is going on here? I spoke to the manager and he defended her behavior and made it worse with more bad service. This place has no idea how customer service works. I was having a good time up until they decided that customer service was out the window. What an aweful experience. To top it all off, the manager replied to my Yelp post with more rudeness and straight up lies. What a joke.

Taps is a really great place. Its right on the Petaluma River, so its one of the few restaurants in town that has a really nice view. The staff is always cheerful and helpful, especially since we have little ones. There were very accommodating with extra olives and getting fruit right away for our hungry toddler. The food is very tasty. I have never seen a bigger corn dog! For the money, its quite a treat. I love that they source their meat from reputable and local farms. I am not a beer drinker, but the special root beer they have is really good. Why would a non beer drinker go to Taps? They give back to the community and local schools and it means a lot when I am deciding where to spend my money. To me, it means they are good and reputable people who know where priorities lie. Five stars for Taps and Five cheers for all the donating they do to Petaluma schools. I will be back whether its a dine & donate night or not - the food, atmosphere and staff are that good. Also, I discovered that if youre not into gazing at the river, its a great place to watch a game! Go Taps!

Beer selection rocks service two thumbs down am not the only one that has complained of the service. I actually had to ask the server that served my table for service after sitting there for about 15 minutes without a drink pretty sad. Its disappointing when going out to eat and you get service this bad. Its clear that without us customers your business would fail. Wake up and make sure your customer service always comes first before food.

Do you like craft beer? Do you want tasty pub food? How about hot wings? I think youre gonna like it here. Ive been visiting regularly since they opened beneath the Hotel Petaluma and have remained a fan following their move from those subterranean environs to their new bright and airy location overlooking the Petaluma River turning basin. Beware the stage three wing sauce.

Beautiful setting perched above the river with plenty of shade, even a dog-friendly area. Great beers, and if not too busy they will serve a small sampler. Food was a bit uneven; both burgers were medium rare. However the poutine, if somewhat unorthodox with ricotta-like curds, was very good, as were the oysters. Worth a stop if you are out Petaluma way.

I want to like this place, I like the beer selection, but have never been able to get a table for two! Too crowded, the old place was better... Every time we just walk across the mall to Dempseys and get right in! One time I went there by myself, I was seated at a small half-table in the corner, then IGNORED for TEN minutes! I walked out...
