New ramen place just opened. Its nice to see more businesses opening up. First thing first is a first come first serve seat yourself kind place. First you order from a menu, get your order number and seat yourself. The menu is small. I got a ramen, the broth flavorful and good ingredients. I thought it was filling but my friend said he was still hungry. The noodles is not the typical ramen noodles, more like soba noodles which is all wrong for this sort of noodle soup. The texture doesnt have the chewiness of traditional ramen, for that theyre getting 3 stars. They also dont take reservations, so if you have a large party go in early to snag one of the three large tables in the back.

Itani Ramen is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in all of Oakland. The staff is phenomenal and helpful, the ambience is pleasantly fresh without feeling like its forcing how "cool" it is down your throat. Ive even met the owner who can be seen on the floor helping the employees and serving as an equal, which is great. The food is all delicious, and if for some reason it doesnt taste right, you can ask and they will get you a better dish. Ive sampled most of the menu at some time or another and its all been flavorful and quickly delivered. My favorites? Miso Pork Ramen, extra Egg. Pair it with a spiked lemonade or a J-Pop with an extra shot and youve got yourself an amazing dinner.

I came here twice, once for dinner on a Friday night and once for brunch on Sunday morning. The service here was great both times! There was a wait on Friday night but I had a free glass of wine while I waited. Every dish that Ive tried here has been great! For dinner we had a burger and the mussels, and for brunch the eggs florentine. The portions are pretty big and Id recommend coming here anytime! I will definitely be back to try other goodies on the menu :)

The atmosphere is really nice. Very clean, nice open floorplan. Menu is small, but its nice since you dont feel super overwhelmed. I got a bowl of ramen and gyoza. I wasnt super impressed with the ramen. It was only "okay". The noodles felt very raw and chewy. Ive had ramen at many places with noodles that firm, but their noodles felt very underdone spaghetti. The food looks amazing, but overall its just okay.

The Ramen was fair and ambience nice, Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant or any other in this neighborhood especially at night. Car break-ins are routine, our car was no exception. We counted four other piles of car window glass on the same block. Wont go back as it is impossible to enjoy dinner when you dont feel safe.

Great service. The Ramen wasnt bad, but it just wasnt good. The broth seemed flat, thin, and relatively flavorless. I would have appreciated a broth with depth to it. The shio Ramen had a building bitter aftertaste that didnt make me want to finish. Really wanted to like this place! There is so much better Ramen out there...

I had an excellent time here with my friends. It wasnt too busy and hour after it opened, but I can see this place getting a lot of traffic. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was great! Ill definitely stop by this spot again when Im in the area.

Enjoyed an amazing dinner here Saturday night. Service is quick, prices are reasonable and they really put some thought into the offerings at the bar - try the grapefruit shochu! The noodles are handmade and the gyoza are awesome! Ill be back!!

I got the sloppy style pot stickers and a bowl of chicken Ramen. The ingredients seemed fresh and healthy but I did NOT enjoy the flavor of either of the things I ordered AT ALL. And it was $40 for two bowls of soup and some pot stickers.

Got the pork ramen, was way too salty and the noodles were not tender. It was an okay sized portion but still not worth the price. Also a cup of green tea is $3, which does not seem reasonable for for a place that sells Asian food.

First timer really to Ramen shops. Guy behind counter/cashier very helpful explaining Ramen types and assisted with my order. Yasai was very light, fresh and tasty. Perfect for lunch. Nice ambience. Will go back to try more.

I ordered the miso pork ramen, couldnt finish it, the flavor and texture was so unpleasant. The broth, ingredients, very unappetizing. will not be ordering this dish again. wouldnt reccomend

Decent ramen, but pricey for what you get. Gyoza and salad is overpriced for the portion you get. Good selection of sake and Japanese beer. Service is pretty friendly.

Ok food that is not too expensive. Gyozas were good. The chashu in the donburi just tasted like it was soaked in soy sauce for a long time. The ramen wasnt much better.

Good ramen but the veg broth was off - it was too sweet. Not a lot of toppings. Friend got the eggplant rice bowl - it was pretty good with avocado and rice.

My broth was very tasty, but I wish my pork ramen had come with some actual pork instead of two large slabs of just pork fat. Over-priced and disappointing.

Great ramen and beer selection. Their gyoza were ok but you can find better. The place is clean and there is plenty of seating.

The ramen felt average to me. Nothing in particular stood out to me - if you got a craving, this will satisfy it.

Pricey, but decent for ramen. If you want a better option, head to Sobo Ramen on 9th.
