This place doesnt look like much on the outside. You may be tempted to walk past it. If you have a passion for pinball or good cracker-crust pizza, do not make this mistake. First, lets tackle the pizza. I imagine theres a wider audience for that than there is pinball. Its very solid. The crust is crunchy and cracker-like, and thin like a typical New York slice. Toppings are unorthodox and delicious, with a small, well-curated list. Sandwiches and salads do not disappoint, either. They do pizza by the slice to order, but its slow (see below). Now, onto my favorite topic: pinball! This is one of the best places to ball in the entire bay area, rivaled perhaps only by Free Gold Watch in SF. Highlights (currently) include a new Wizard of Oz machine and a mint Attack From Mars with colored display. Upstairs are some older machines that arent quite as nice, but still good. A few pinball leagues home base here. Its a great place to play. The only downside to this place, and the reason for my 3-star rating, is the service. Frankly, it sucks. The best youll ever get is "fine." Theyll ask you want you want in a reasonable amount of time, youll give them money, and right when youre about to get impatient, youll get your food or beer. Often times its worse, and sometimes its very bad. Often times just getting a single slice of pizza can take 20+ minutes. Personally its not such a big deal for me, because by the time Ive paid for my food, Im standing in front of a pinball machine. The pizza and beer are a delicious afterthought. If you went here hungry or expecting good service, though, youd probably be pretty disappointed.

Had a slice with meatball toppings. Came home and vomited it all out within an hour. Food poisoning. Meatballs were old or bad, they reheated them. Didnt even puke with a stomach flu and food poisoning from Johnny Rockets MGM Grand Vegas last year, though it was far worse with a fever. Here puked painfully twice. Food came out almost completely undigested. Bad meat. Called the restaurant and spread the word. Have eaten here before but only cheese. Obviously a horrible experience, to pay for food only to puke it out painfully. Surprisingly not a corporate Johnny Rockets or In and Out, where this happened to me before, but a supposedly home grown Oakland pizza kitchen!

This place went through so many workers that I couldnt remember who work there last. Its just a pizza joint with pinball machines most located upstairs. Daily special are listed for each day of the week, but ongoing special is one slice with high-life or any draft for $8-, or two slices with any draft for $10-. No frills just order eat and play. Indoor ATM available and credit card minimum is $10 or more. Slices are thin with near soggy bottom, but somewhat tasty. Crust was thin showing no brown edges to near burnt edges. Its alright for what it is, but dont get your hopes too high and youll be fine.

I went here last night with some friends to grab some slices to enjoy & the guys at the register totally messed up my order. After asking if I was taken care of I said, "Were still waiting on slices I paid for", another cashier then tries to give me back money to reimburse me for the slices we didnt get. He gives me back the wrong amount. I questioned how much I was supposed to get back and he didnt know. Pretty much the pizza is fire but they definitely didnt know much of what was going on with anything.

I love this joint. I am all about the pinball. But being an ex New Yorker and pizza snob. The Za is more then passable. Crust is a touch dry, but thin and cracks in the appropriate way. Lots of toppings and a good selection of rotating beers on tap. Price is right and back to the pinball. I play in a league based here on Wednesday nights. They have 11-12 tables maintained with pride. They switch them out at regular intervals and tend to have latest titles. Walking Dead and Kiss (even if it sucks).

Dont go! Oaklands best kept secret... Just joking. Popped in there with pretty low expectations. The salads on the menu caught my eye in the window, so I thought I would give it a bash. I overheard some other patrons commending the pizzas to one another and my salad was original, fresh and tasty. I will definitely be back to try the pizzas. Highly recommended.

Amazing to hang out there and socialize, the area is nice and cozy, kind of feels like a living room with booze. Only issue I had was that they didnt cook my pizza properly and had crazy stomach problems the rest of the day. Besides that experience, great place to be.

Good beer good pizza good Kong fu movie. Half life um and watch some old school kung fu flick and have a very good Life of Bees or two or three if youre ever in downtown Oakland on the late night you definitely need to come here

Duck bacon is the best. Be careful ordering garlic on your pizza, they put a ton on there. Also their pinball machines are awesome and they have cheap beer on tap.
