Welcome to the neighborhood, Duchess! With a female owner and female chef, this place is girl power done right. Come in for a cocktail stay for the food, and make sure to check out the beer and wine list. Caroline, co-owner and ex-pastry chef at Nopa, has done an amazing job sourcing delicious and affordable wine. The space is adorable and its the perfect place to spend a few hours getting to know your fellow Rockridgians (thats a term, right?) The pastrami sandwich is a must have. Perfectly smoky, cured pastrami on thick, pillowy bread with just the right amount of cheese. I could eat this every day.

Pros: Great food (try the Crab Fries and the Pastrami Sandwich), Delicious craft cocktails, Expertly-crafted wine and beer selection, Friendly wait staff and bartenders, full coffee bar, and did I mention GREAT FOOD? (try the chicken sandwich and the bread pudding too!) Cons: Not right next door to my apartment. It is clear that a ton of thought went into making each diners Duchess experience amazing. What are you waiting for? Get in there!

It was five stars before but the food has noticeably decreased in quality. Before the burger came with a side salad with delicious pear dressing. Now it comes with fries (not my thing) and when I asked to get the salad that it used to have they brought out a salad that wasnt as good as the one I remember from last time, and it was extra. Also the bun went from something really good to a mediocre burger bun. They should rehire their old chef.

Fried chicken sandwich is alright but way too much breading. The breading doesnt seem to cook all the way through so its gummy where it contacts the chicken. The chicken though is very moist and tasty. You just have to find crispy bits of crust to pair with each bite.

It is a beautiful setting with a cozy atmosphere. I normally seek a Reuben at any pub I go to (Wisconsinite) and the pastrami sandwich is to die for... beyond perfection. This place is going to fill a void that has been missing in Rockridge.

Excellent coffee. Super Friendly staff. Has a solid beer/cocktail selection. Menu looks good, though Ive only tried the delicious breakfast biscuit and house pastries.
