My sister and I had been wanting to try this for months. Funny thing was, we were actually headed to Sol Food. But when we saw a line that stretched from the door down we decided to keep driving to Boriquen sol. Best. Idea. Ever. The food we got made me feel like I was visiting a relatives house. It was so flavor and nostalgia hit me as soon as I took a bite. I got the Pernil combo plate with Arroz con gandules and tostones. But since we had driven so far I had to splurge and buy a pastele and a bacalaito on the side. They were perfect, I was only missing ketchup for my pastele. Haha. But the fact they included mayo ketchup made me hella happy. The lady at the front was funny and it just felt like a chill place. I will be back eventually to try the mofongo, which was sadly sold out this trip.

Found it asking my phone what foods near me listed as a foodtruck nearby. It is actually tucked inside a convenience store of all places and easy to miss if youre not looking for it. The food was good, though I wouldnt call it "authentic". Having come from east coast and been to Puerto Rico I was leary, but pleasantly surprised. Bit of a wait for the mofongo, which is to be expected. No tables, strictly take out. Staff was friendly.

Great tasting Puerto Rican food! Highly recommend for anyone who is looking for authentic Puerto Rican food, that has that home style cooking flavor. This place is located inside the 5-star grocery market. They offer a take out service, as well as a catering service. They have limited seating outside, enough for small groups. Arrive early, as they tend to sellout of the good stuff in the evening.

4.5 stars. Really good Puerto Rican food. Their mofongo is authentic. The bacalaítos are really really good. My friend from PR confirmed the authenticity of the food! There is usually a wait but its good because it means the food is made fresh when you order. Also if you go later then there is less choice. Take out is also good from here.

Great food, made right there while you wait.. oh, but the WAIT time; perhaps the only thing more memorable than the food is how slow their service is! Last time we were there it took 10 minutes just to have someone take our order.. and we were the only ones in line. So if time is really not a factor then, yes, this spot is tops.

Well this was my second time going there and they still didnt have what I wanted on there menu and they had different cooks this time and the food was not that good and the Puerto Rican rice was a very light orange color and it had no flavor so that was going to be my last time going there.

Pricey. Lacking attention to detail. Service is slow and food is wildly inconsistent. Hopefully they can work these things out. I would love to have a good local Puerto Rican spot. Sadly, this is not yet it.
