A few weeks ago, my boys had a track meet at Trabuco HS. In looking for a place to have dinner between the races, my wife and I found Piccilino. The food was excellent and we promised to try it again in the near future. Tonight, having just returned from a business trip, I took my entire family to Piccolino despite it being more than 20 minutes from our home in Laguna Niguel. This time, the food was awful! The waiter recommended the veal chop which was so tough my mother-in-law took two bites and stopped eating. He also recommended a special pasta with Marsala sauce and chunks of Filet Mignon. Sadly, the pasta was terribly under-cooked and the Filet was inedible. Upon asking for the check, seeing we left a lot of our food uneaten, the waiter asked us how was our dinner. When we shared our disappointment, he said "sorry" and handed us the check. And upon leaving, the manager asked the same rhetorical question clearly not interested in understanding the basis of our disappointment. Obviously not interested in hearing what their customers think about their crappy dining experiences, I predict this restaurant will end up failing just like more than half the businesses in this desolate strip mall.

Food was excellent. I ordered the linguini alla vongole and my only complaint was that I wanted more. Pasta was so dente, clams were plentiful and flavor was fantastic. My husband ordered the veal parmesan and he loved it. He said the veal was tender and cooked perfectly.The sauce was light, fresh and full of flavor. My son ordered the Margherita pizza which was mediocre. Come here for the other dishes, not the pizza. The prices are higher than the average. House wine was $14 per glass. The ambiance is nice, the service was excellent and well definitely be back.

We had never been here before and it was AMAZING. the atmosphere, the food (rack of lamb, fish and linguini), the wine. We got to meet the chef, our host and server were so caring and focused on us having a quality experience. They genuinely took care of us and wanted to create a good experience which they did. Definitely recommended for date night, birthdays, special occasions, or a treat. Loved it here!

Had Easter lunch there and it was a fabulous expereince. Great food, nice variety and crativity on the menu. Service was extraordinarily personalable and authentic, a welcome and refreshing change from the moderan lack of true service that has overtaken the food industry. Would definitely return and recommend to others!

Excellent friendly service. The food is also very good. Try the pumpkin ravioli or the angel hair alla checca. This is a great place to take a dinner or lunch date or to celebrate an event with a moderately sized group. Its rarely that busy due to its location off the main roadways. There is also a full bar inside.

We were SO happy with our experience at Piccolino! Beautiful ambience, wonderful service and we all loved our dinners. My husband and I both had the pappardelle with lamb ragu - wow, so very delicious. We also noticed that everything came out piping hot. We will definitely be back!

My wife mom and I came down here from sf for a wedding and found this place on Google. We decided to try it out. It was by far the best Italian restaurant I have been to. The staff was great and the good was amazing. We will definitely be coming back. I would give it a 10 if I could.

Excellent food and service. Another patron accidentally spilled my water into my almost finished meal - they offered to immediately make me another. When I said it was fine they brought me dessert for free. I will be back. And the wine was good too!

Great food and wine in a high-end Italian restaurant. Loved the carpacchio and the pizza. Can be expensive, some entrees are$40 or more... but its possible to go cheaper if you split a $20 pizza. I like having that option.

Try the Oso-Bucco. Its better than grandmas. The sauces are primo. Best Italian restaurant in Orange County! Also on the must try list is the Canoloni. Tina gave us wonderful suggestions!

4.5 stars. Close to 5 at times. Theyve moved recently. Gourmet Italian more than family style hole in the wall italian. Though the take out menu is more traditional family style.
