Weve had mixed luck here. Ultimately, were always happy at the end of our visit -- but on two different Saturday evening visits we experienced very different service. On one evening we were seated almost immediately (were Landrys card members, which is supposed to bump you to the front of the waiting line)... but once we were seated it was a good 10 minutes before we even got water. The times between the waiter coming around to the table were long, and it took almost a half hour before our orders were in. After that, things went smoothly... but that was to be expected as other people were finishing dinner and the restaurant was less crowded (but still a healthy crowd). This is more of a management issue than anything else -- to save money they had too few wait staff for the crowd. On our second visit we waited almost 40 minutes for a table, but once we were seated our waiter took care of us like a ninja expert. Perfect service from this guy. I still think they were understaffed, but we lucked out and got a very seasoned waiter. Overall, not my favorite restaurant in the Landrys lineup (that award goes to Saltgrass Steakhouse)... but this is the closest thing to a Saltgrass that they have out West.

See Yelp Review. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Being a member of the Landry network for restaurants, my wife and I decided to go to dinner at Claim Jumper Restaurant. We arrived there at 6:00pm (dinner hour) today (Monday, July 4, 2016). Upon entering, and with no one else in the waiting area, we stood and waited for about 10 minutes, waiting for the host to look up and greet us. As he didnt, I went over to him and asked whether we just sit at any table. Surprised, he said to have a seat at any table and pointed to the back of the restaurant where a few other people were seated. We did, and we sat there for about 10 minutes without any server or acknowledgement. Waiting, my wife got up and grabbed a menu. We selected our menu items and waited and waited and waited and waited. After being at the restaurant for 25 minutes with absolutely NO service, we decided to leave and go elsewhere. Upon our departure, I looked in the waiting area near where the host would be and there was absolutely NO ONE (including customers). This experience was beyond incredible! Never again at the Claim Jumper in Mission Viejo!!

The kitchen made a few mistakes for our meals yesterday, but the server and manager acknowledged that and helped correct them. Our family keeps coming back because we enjoy the food and the seating is always comfortable. Service has been consistently good here when we visit, but -1 star for how often we need things to be fixed Issues that had to be fixed on our most recent visit: * Serving items with gluten on a gluten free plate * Mashed potatoes had a sour taste * They were out of stock on 2 cuts of steak * The credits from our Landrys card were applied incorrectly All of these issues were corrected and the servers and managers were polite, friendly, and professional throughout our visit.

We have eaten at this location a few times. Brunch I would rate 4 stars no problem. This time however, we were here for dinner. The waiter was fairly prompt at taking our order. Receiving our order on the other hand was unacceptable. After 45 minutes, I went to the Manager to ask about our meals. A few minutes later, the waiter comes to the table and says there was some mixup in the kitchen. No, the mixup was that the waiter didnt put the order in. This is the 2nd time we have had this same issue with dinner.

I have been going to claim jumper chain restaurants for many years, and to this one in particular since it opened. This particular location is either well managed, or gets really lucky with staff. Every time I go here the wait staff is courteous and professional. I remove one star for two reasons, the kitchen at this location seems a little slower than others I have been to, and Landrys is making changes to the traditional CJ menu that in my mind detract slightly more than they add.

Poor everything. This is just down the street from where we live and it only exits anymore because of lack of competition for our area literally. This is the worst Claim Jumper there is. They have gone corporate which means low grade. Glorified Dennys in our opinions that live here. Woodranch and this Claim jumper for our area only because of lack of places to go. Sorry but its the truth

Ive been here a few times for Sunday Brunch, and its been pretty decent. The variety in food is good, although since it is a buffet and things are left out sometimes the food you grab will be a little on the stale side (Im looking at you, Eggs Benedict!), but honestly its about what you would expect from a buffet. They do offer Mimosas, or you can order yourself a Bloody Mary.

Went to Claims Jumper in Mission viejo last night with a group. The menu was large and covered everyones taste. The food itself was poor. I had the rib steak dinner. The meat had a funny taste like it was defrosted. It did not have the fresh meat taste I get from cooking a USDA cut of meat from my near by grocery chain store. Wont be going here in the near future.

The server was slow and rude. The manager is even worse laughing when I complained. They should both be fired. The server is andre. The manager is the bald Hispanic mam. The worse ever. The manager would not give me his name and they tried to blame it on the kitchen as a kitchen error. The food was great just very very very bad service. I will never go back

5-27-17 its 4:05 PM and the host had no customer service skills. Couldnt even great us properly. The server girl was nice. My first time EVER stepping into claim jumpers. If Im going to be paying good money for decent food please dont be treating ur guest like McDonalds guest, but then again Im sure McDonalds across the street has better customer service.

Very very average, cushions on chairs and booths are worthless and uncomfortable. Help is nice but sometimes snippy and in a hurry. Store at PCH and 2nd in Seal Beach is everything this chain is supposed to be and help is always all-over themselves to make sure you get what you want. Booths and chairs in much better condition

The service was very slow to start. The ceasar salad was very fishy tasting. The chicken was decent but the country fried steak was over breaded, very greasy, tough and had a wierd aftertaste. Our dinner for four turned into a 2 and 1/2 hour ordeal. The quality of this place has gone downhill over the years.

We ate here twice within the past month. Used to be a great place but now if you go there you better have loads of time. We waited SOOOOOOO LOOOOONNNG for our food, both times. Very frustating, as they were not that busy. Seriously question if well ever go back. Terrible service!!!!

Great experience usually, had a 6pm reservation tonight. There was a 35 minute wait for walk ins. They seated us at 6:32. Also ordered a soda water, they charged us $2.99 for a soda water. This is something that should be free if it comes from the fountain.
