Pancakes and waffles that I can honestly say I will have cravings for... om nom nom. I was a little reluctant about coming here since it had a wide spread of reviews, but I decided to order something off the menu that was pancake/waffle related due to this place being called stacks, and hey, I had a fabulous experience. I got to try the blueberry pancakes and the chocolate waffle and both were spectacular. I looooove that they use real blueberries in their pancakes, and each bite was a burst of flavor. I also was a huge fan of the fact that the chocolate waffle wasnt too overpowering in its chocolate chip-ness. Sometimes with chocolate themed breakfasts they go a bit overboard and you get tired of the flavor after a few bites, but the ratio was excellent and I would highly recommend it. I will absolutely be back when Im in the mood for a sweeter breakfast. I highly recommend this place for pancake and waffle lovers.

If you are in the mood for a heavy and hearty all-american brunch, you have come to the right place. My boyfriend and I shared the full stack Banana Macadamia nut & Coconut Pancakes (true to our asian roots, we could not resist the economies of scale savings that 3 pancake-full stack offered). Combined with an applewood bacon avocado omelette, this was WAY too much food. Both dishes were delicious, but as I ate more and more all I could think about was grease clogging my arteries. I personally prefer lighter fare so this was not my favorite meal in terms of nutrition but any brunch fanatic would truly enjoy it. They were busy when we went on a Sunday morning and I believe the slow and sparse service was exacerbated by the fact that we were seated outside. While you wait for a table, you can enjoy complimentary coffee on the balcony.

The biscuits and gravy are hit or miss. When they get them right they are the best on the peninsula. I have ordered them once a weekend every weekend for awhile now. 4 out of 5 weekends are really good. It is that 5th weekend that disappoints. Yesterdays biscuits or served cold. Two of the cardinal sins of biscuits and gravy. Not a real big deal in most places, but when biscuits, gravy two eggs and a side of toast with coffee are north of twenty dollars for a breakfast, there should be no venal sins allowed, much less the cardinal ones.

I ordered a full stack of buttermilk pancakes, and the server hesitated. . . . "Have you been here before?" she asked, recommending the short stack as a starting point. I reluctantly accepted her advice. Now, at the point of exploding, I regretfully cannot finish even the short stack - despite it being the most delicious plate of pancakes Ive ever had. Service here is great, the food is fantastic, and the atmosphere is pleasant even when it gets crowded. Definitely come here for a nice breakfast.

This is basically a slightly upscale Dennys -- I feel so unhealthy every time I eat here, though the pancakes are delicious. This is a solid brunch place but not the best. They offer free coffee while you wait (there is a super long wait on weekends) and there is a parking under the buildings. You have to take an elevator to get to the bathrooms which seem to be outside / on an upper floor of the building.

When you want a family friendly pancake or waffle meal, Stacks is always a good option. We like it because our 1 year old daughter can be loud and/or messy, and we can have whatever type of pancakes or waffles were in the mood for. The servers are always fast and thorough. I dont think these are the best pancakes/waffles in the world and they are kind of pricey, but they are good and not too greasy.

Great food, good sized portions, and quick service. Thumbs up for having coffee available outside while you wait. The blueberry pancakes had a good mix of berries without being too soggy. The biscuits and gravy were hearty and flavorful and came with eggs on top. Even the potatoes were crisped on one side instead of the bland skillet potatoes you get everywhere else.

Excellent diner style coffee and breakfast. As a Jersey girl, Ive craved authentic diner food since moving to CA. This is a slightly more upscale version of diner cuisine. Loved their pancakes- did I mention the awesome coffee? It bears repeating. Friendly and helpful waitstaff. The one caveat: a bit pricey, even for deeply overpriced Silicon Valley.

Stacks is a staple in Menlo Park, and the food is consistently good. Ive had better breakfasts with something special about them, but if youre in the area and looking for a quality place, this is it. If theres a long wait, you might just have to hang out for a bit as other options are limited nearby.

the pancakes are great and so is the French Toast. the staff is okay, but I know who I would fire. I urge you to go because it is in a nice location and some of the greatest pancakes I ever tasted. also, the kids pancake is just enough for PA light breakfast or brunch. can get noisy on 0n weekends!?!?!

Busy but good spot for breakfast. We stopped in on Sunday morning and breakfast was great. The portions are pretty huge, so keep it in mind if youre thinking of ordering a side or anything. The decor is also pretty unique, as they have more flower arrangements than any restaurants Ive ever seen.

Stacks is probably the most popular for brunch in the area. The wait is usually not more than 15-20 minutes because the place is huge. Its nice that they provide coffee and water while you wait. As for the food - its decent but not amazing. The portions are huge with a whole bagel and potatoes.

Its ok. Nothing more nothing less. Our waiter was really nice but when it came to splitting the check on multiple cards he looked at us like we were aliens. He literally had no idea what we were talking about and we had to write it out for him.

I cant imagine standing in line for this regularly, but based on the lines of people out the door every weekend, its pretty popular. The food is good, and a good step above Dennys, but its still diner-style breakfast, which I dont enjoy.

Had the Chorizo 3 egg scram.. Im partial to Chorizo but it was amazing. The pancakes are fluffy and the size of a plate. Very good atmosphere with great service. My girlfriend had the Apple Waffle and I had a bite, awesome. Go here.

Awesome brunch joint and very reasonable prices for Menlo Park. Im a big fan of the chorizo omelette, but their pancakes are really good too. On Sundays you might have to fight the church crowd, but its worth the wait.

Ive been to Stacks a number of times with my family for breakfast. Its quite loud and thus kid-friendly. The wait staff was very attentive and the food was great. Definitely the best spot in Menlo Part for breakfast.

Good service. The food is fine, but nothing to write home about. Everything was just a bit off; not quite crispy enough toast and potatoes, and slightly overcooked eggs with slightly undercooked veggies.

More or less the diner you would expect. Decent eats, plenty of options, and not unreasonably priced (for the area). Expect to spend about $15 a person after tax and tip for a decent and filling meal.
