I went here for dinner with a coworker on a Sunday night. Like others have said, you would not think this would be a great Italian restaurant from the outside or from the location. We were pleasantly surprised. We did feel a bit under dressed inside (t-shirt and shorts) but it was not a big deal. The service was very quick and inviting. The appetizers were delicious and the dinners were superb. Like old school Italian restaurants, one of the owners came by mid-meal to make sure we were happy and had a quick friendly conversation with each table. I was very satisfied with everything at Chapellis.

Love this place. Good, local haunt. Always good drinks, friendly team and the food is traditional. Not "San Francisco trendy" but the kind of place you can come by regularly and count on a nice evening. If youre looking for African Teak finishes and glass block accents, go elsewhere. If you want a comfortable restaurant, with a reasonably priced wine list and consistent experience, this is your place!

You advertise being open till 9:30 but we walked in at 8:50 sand was turned away. Who closes fur dinner before 9pm? You will not be hetting my service or anyone I know if Im asked. The desert needs to wake up and start serving people at normal dinner times. Its extremely annoying and bad business. Thanks but no thanks. You must lost a good customer x 5.

This restaurant doesnt know how to cook. We were a party of 4 and nobody liked their food. The risotto was bland. Portion sizes of the meat dishes were tiny. Chicken parmesan and veal picatta were tiny on top a mountain of pasta and marinara that was tasteless. Bread pudding served at the end was a disappointment.

Surprisingly elegant white tablecloth dining next door to the ubiquitous Ralphs Dont be put off by the location...this is some of the best classic italian food. Excellent red sauce and pasta, great meatballs, and really subtle and good veal piccatta. Small, with a nice wooden bar and stucco walls.

What an exceptional dining experience I had with my 12 yr. old daughter, and 14 yr. old son! Chapellis possesses a charm and character that is superseded by excellent and attentive staff, and great, and I mean GREAT, food. I am so glad I discovered this Gem in the Desert.

Excellent service, nice staff, big portions of food, knowledgeable staff, nice relaxing atmosphere, crowded...people love it hear. They accommodate people without reservations best they can. I would come here again. The owner is very nice.

While service was subpar, the food was horrible. Way overpriced for the portions. Someone needs to give the chef a lesson on the overuse of garlic. Even the marinara sauce was terribly insipid. Waste of money & will not go back.
