I have been coming here every week for the past couple of months. Unfortunately, I am extremely disappointed with the experience we had today and will not be back for a while. I called to order our meal ahead of time for dine-in. The service over the phone was terrible. I felt very rushed and she assured me that there would probably be no seats for dine-in and we would have to find space at the stand up counter/bar, but when I arrived ten minutes after the phone call half of the restaurant was empty. The woman taking my order said we could not pay when we got to the restaurant; even though I have done that every single time previously. After I asked for separate checks the woman claimed to have forgotten our order, said we could not pay separately until I kept asking "why?" and she finally gave in. The phone call was a red flag, but we decided to go to the restaurant regardless and see if we could figure it out once there. When we arrived to the restaurant we were helped promptly and the waitress was extremely helpful. But our food was cold and there was hair in my plate. We asked the manager over to our table to explain our experience and he did not seem to be sympathetic to our needs or reassure us that he would take care of us either. His response to the cold fries was, "Thats the sort of thing that happens when you decide to order ahead of time." This is very unfortunate because I constantly refer people in the Huntington Beach area to this restaurant and after this I will no longer be speaking highly of this establishment.

I could totally see myself becoming a regular here! We came here after a friend highly recommended this place to us. We came in last night and I was a bit overwhelmed by the menu. Plenty of options to choose from and so many different ways to eat it - wraps, salads or entrees. We decided it would be best to divide and conquer on this. We ordered the eggplant dip, falafel wrap, lamb kebab plate and sides of roasted mushrooms, roasted artichoke hearts, fries and the rocka salad. I have to say the portions are quite large and totally was not expecting so much for the price tag. Hands down my favorite items were the lamb kebabs, rocka salad and the falafel wraps. Everything was perfectly seasoned, you didnt feel like there was a ton of salt in any of the food - which is generally what I experience with falafels and roasted meat specifically. I did like the eggplant dip, it had a smokey flavor which I enjoyed, but just a fair warming if that doesnt suit your taste buds. The ambiance was really well put together. The offer a large outdoor patio area. The service was friendly and fast. I definitely enjoyed our experience here and we will certainly be back again for more soon!!

I went here for lunch today and I was really disappointed. I love Greek food and restaurants such as Georges and Athens West, but this place was a huge let down. The prices were high, the service was slow, and the protein portion sizes were small. I live a low carb lifestyle and I tend to order off the A La Carte menu expecting to get a nice portion of meat and small salad. Instead they messed up my order and serve me a salad topped with 3...count them three small pieces of meat. When I told them I wanted just a side of meat with a small salad they charged me $3 extra for one more small piece of meat and it took them over 15 minutes to bring out my corrected order. The meat was seasoned ok, but by this point my husband had finished his lunch and I was only beginning. The salad that it came with was bland and full of croutons which I had asked them to skip twice. All and all this will be my first and last time ever at The Olive Pit. I know that meat is more expensive than rice, salad, and potatoes, but this serving size was ridiculous. I prefer Athens West in Seal Beach.

Our family met at Olive Pit for a Mothers Day lunch. I was in the mood for something light so I ordered up a Mediterranean Salad. Our meals were served up in short time and everything looked delicious. My father requested oil and vinegar and the server seemed a bit annoyed at having to create a side of this for him. I was thinking it couldnt be that unusual of a request. The Mediterranean salad was fresh and the dressing was good. It seemed a bit flimsy on the olives. The portions were decent with everthing being served up in big bowls. It wasnt the best salad Ive ever had and it wasnt the worst. Eh...3.5 stars maybe...

This lively local hot spot serves upscale Mediterranean food at moderate prices. Before 6pm you order at the counter & your server brings it to you. After 6pm you get full table service, dinner portions and bigger crowds. Service is above average and the food is superior quality with recipies both traditional & innovative. One of these innovations is a variety of meal salads with your choice of optional proteins. Luncheon portions are adequate, dinner portions are ample. Free Wi-Fi.

It seems like you get a lot for your money. Your meal is prepared fresh, not out of a bag. And if you order a Salad you get a full meal. For $10.64 you get a great salad with your choice of fish or meat on top. (Note, the cost has increased to $12.61, but still a good deal.) The only problem is that they get busy at meal times, and sometimes parking can be a hassle--dont park in front of the liquor store because liquor store employees will yell at you.

Love this place but prices have risen dramatically so I cant see myself continuing to enjoy the establishment. I am not sure what happened but I have a budget and well if they give more food for more $ , it doesnt help my diet. I wish them well. I am sorry they have moved into a price range I cant do. Also, something happened to their chips. Now they seem to be from a bag and not spicy as before. What a shame.

I went here with my husband for lunch whilst spending a day on the beach, I quickly checked trip advisor to find somewhere specifically for tacos. What a great find, the place was busy but the service was very efficient. We ordered 2 tacos each, one of us had the shrimp and the other chicken, then shared some nachos with guacamole. All of it tasted so fresh and yummy, would definitely recommend this place.

We went there yesterday and it was very good. Had the special fishermans soup and my wife had the lamb burger. They were both prepared perfectly, and the hummus that they served was out of this world. We live in Irvine, but came up to Huntington Beach for the day and made a special point of going to the Olive Pit. Its that good!

The food quality is impeccable. I havent had a single menu item that was displeasing. The staff and service are wonderful. On occasion, I receive an unusually small meat portion or missing shrimp in the kabob order. This rarely happens and is the only reason 5 stars was not given. I definitely recommend giving them a try.
