There arent that many Sonic locations in the Bay Area, so coming here is more a treat than a regular occurrence. Plus it isnt really that convenient of a location as it is a few miles from the freeway. PROS: Easy to order from the comfort of your own car. Good selection of food, drinks and desserts. Priced reasonably. Good temp was piping hot. Drinks ice cold. The chicken strips I had were crispy and not overly dry or salty. Tater tots were crispy. Fast service! Brought over by skating servers! CONS: The parking spots are a little narrow, especially if you plan to get out of your car from both sides. Your doors are limited due to the ordering menu/pay kiosks. So if you plan to exit on the drivers side, park closer to the right. The tater tots and fries had a slightly off taste. (was same as my previous visit) It seems like the same fry oil is shared with other fried items like chicken or fish. No indoor seating. There are some outdoor tables under an overhang near the kitchen. Overall: I recommend coming after 8 if you have a sweet tooth as there is usually a happy hour every day for either drinks or desserts. Quantity a slight step above other fast food restaurants.

My friends have gone here a few time and have always said good things about it but I was pretty disappointed on my first visit. First the drive-in menu is designed for only the driver so we had to park and walk to the patio seating, not a big deal but missing part of the experience. At the patio you still need to use the same call-in menu as the drive-ins use so its not that different. The food itself was nothing special, it definitely had that fast food feel to it. None of the food was warm which was weird because the toast on my sandwich was definitely toasted and the onion rings and tater tots were definitely deep fried. Speaking of which it seems like they have their deep frying technique down. Excellent crispy-ness on the rings and tots. The only impressive part was their milkshakes. They have plenty of options and they had a good consistency with very noticeable flavor. I got peanut butter and oreos which saved the experience for me. I dont think Ill be back any time soon considering it was like a 20-30 minute drive but if it was in my area I would consider it.

This place is a solid burger join that differs from others. The burgers are flavorful and juicy. The chicken tenders are very tasty as well as the fries and tater tots. I really enjoy the ice in my soda, soft and comfortable to chew on. The shakes are really good and many different choices to add in. Ordering in the drive thru or in the parking lot was fairly fast despite how busy it was. I will be back again to enduldge in some classic American food.

Some things are better, some not as hot. Be careful of the "large" milkshake, its huge. I do like their tater-tots, nice and crispy. Burgers are fair and have fresh lettuce, tomato, and onion (crunchy and unwilted.). Milkshakes and malts are good and fairly thick. Hot dogs are middle of the road. Service has been good for all of our visits. on par with In-n-Out burgers food wise I would say with more choices and staff who bring the food to you.

Best Sonic Ive been to. The Gilroy one is horrible on EVERY LEVEL FYI! I posted a horrible review on their Facebook and got harassed by some lady for voicing my opinion. I love 6 miles away from that one and Ive been going there for years before I discovered the Hayward location. Ill drive the 45 mile drive to this location just so I dont have to deal with the one by my house. Hayward Sonic: keep up the excellent customer service!!!

Love it for the drink bargains. For me its great for snacking. Trying to clean up diet but still treat myself in occasion. They just refurbished the customer displays to touch screen and its a much brighter and better organized display. The order accuracy slips a bit of you use the drive through so just be aware. I wish they had wider straws for the pineapple shakes. The ones they give you tend to clog.

Happy hour slushies FTW! We always go during happy hour and load up on slushies and buy corn dogs, tots, wings. And the bill comes out to like 20.00. The quality is well above average and the price is great. The kids dig how you park and the servers roller skate to you. It has a very retro feeling.

Being one of the few Sonics locations in the Bay Area, this review is going to be slightly inflated. However, this drive-in place is still good. Service is quick and food is cheap. I loved their tater tots and mozzarella sticks, although their marinara sauce could be better.

We came from Alaska for #momsandileshaexcursion but had to have some Sonic and they totally just made my mouth orgasm with the shakes. Bought the banana cream pie and the strawberry cheesecake shakes, drank them together and it was beautiful.... Made me cry was so good.

Great location and food but ice cream machine never works on hot days "coincidentally", which honestly I really dont believe at all, and honestly its happened so many times I wanted to come here during the summer over the years that I gave up completely.

Its a slow fast-food restaurant. The food is okay. Their shakes and ice-cream are good. However its not healthy at all because the calorie count in menu is too high. They just turn into a** people before they close as well as they may not take orders.

This place is great! Classic drive-in style, order your food, delivered right to car... And its actually good fast food! Sonic burger is like In-n-Out, chili cheese coney was amazing too! And the slushes and ice creams are good for dessert.

Ultimate tater tots (chilli cheese tots, add onions & jalapenos) and a cherry limeade. Fast food of dreams. Half price happy hour for drinks 2-4? As if you really need that ginormous Route-44 size of pure sugar...but I still get it...

The bladder nabbed my change! Got our ice creams for $9.33 and handed the dude a $10 he skated off super quick with a "thanks have a good night" and no one came back! Sure its only 0.67 cents but its the principal. He just took it!

Pretty good fast food. Tips: Happy hour is 2pm-5pm which means drinks and slushes are half off and corn dogs are $1. Plus milkshakes are half off after 8pm during the summer.

If you want drive in food, this will do, but it usually arrived cold and limp. EDIT - Use the drive thru window!! Faster and your food will be fresh and hot!! ☆☆☆

This place was alright. Albeit we had a very complicated $47 order. They had 2 things incorrect, but the manager quickly remedied that. I would go back here.

A scary place to eat if youre counting calories. They serve you in your car, so you dont have to walk inside. Quickest way to get fat-ass.

The jalapeño poppers and the tater tots were good. Chicken strips and onion rings were OK. Priced a bit higher than some other fast food.
