Terrible experience yesterday. The owner apparently has nothing but time on his hands and malicious intent for the surrounding business. I parked my car across the street(parking around this area is very difficult) got my three children out and was half way to the coffee shop when I was approached by a man that had been sitting across the street in front of the saloon. He asked where I was going and then told me to move my car that I could not park there. I asked who he was and he said he was the owner of the Irondoor Saloon. While I was there I saw him do it to two other cars. One was an elderly couple that had a very difficult time parking and getting out of the car! I watched them drive off and not bother to find another spot to park, business lost for the coffee shop! I need to add that there was at least 3 other open spaces when I was told to move. After speaking with the owner of the coffee shop I found out he does this all day and has for the past few years. He is not nice about it either. After witnessing his conduct I will never frequent his business.

A great stop on the way to Yosemite. What first caught my attention to this is that it is a wonderful old building set in the center of town. You do walk though the Iron Doors to enter the place and they have a restaurant and a saloon in the same building. Every time that I travel though I stop in. The main reason I keep coming back is because they have sweat Potato French Fries. The burgers are fresh, and sometimes they even have buffalo. Great beer on tap I always like the Grizzly Brown. I have never been here late into the evening but I am sure that it is great bar. Hanging with the locals and some travelers is always fun. It is also known as one of the oldest bars in California.

Ive got no experience with the restaurant except an entertaining story, so I rated it a four out of five (the average). In 1991 I was traveling with my wife out of Yosemite to San Franciso along this "northern route". We were hungry and there are practically no restaurants along the route. We saw the Iron Door Saloon in Groveland and stopped. We walked in only to find the place was filled to the brim with Hells Angels (really!). A waitress walked by while we were standing openmouthed at the entrance (me in my shorts and tennies with polo shirt and my wife in her culottes) and smiled a wicked smile as if to say "What the f___ are YOU doing here?" We left. Quickly.

Disappointing. Was here back in 2010. One of the best Buffalo Burgers Ive ever tasted. Same goes for their daily soups. Heard owners passed business to their kids. Guess what? Its not the same. Handmade burgers are now store bought frozen burgers. Soups are probably Sysco too. The place itself is the same fun place as always where one has time traveled to the oldest saloon in Cali. Plus patrons get to toss and stick dollar bills into the ceiling for charity. It also would help when one has pool tables they be in decent working order.

Decent food, great atmosphere, cold satisfying drinks. The decor might be strange to some but made the saloon feel as authentic as it is. Great place for a meal, small appetizers (I had the home made potato chips) or just a cool beer or soda. This is a bar and they do have a dining area that I didnt see. Salad bar was next to the registers. The bathrooms where clean but incredibly small. All in all I would go back, and I did. Free Wi-Fi too.

Food is good but unreasonably high. Waitresses are knowledgeable. The problem that I have is that they do not keep their advertisements under control. Their fountain has gone out of business and that phone number has been reissued. For three years they have not been able to correct the situation. Also. There is no parking for the bar or grill. The entrance is a trip hazard and is a law suit waiting to happen.

Stopped into the Iron Door Saloon after a long Sunday at Yosemite. We had been visiting California, from New Jersey, and it was nice to sit down and enjoy the atmosphere of a local spot. The food was good! The beer (805 light IPA was good! The service was good (thank you for being kind Rachel)! When I come back to visit Yosemite again, I will definitely make it a point to stop into the Iron Door Saloon!

Fun atmosphere, good beer. We ordered a Cobb salad and the fish and chips. The place wasnt empty, but it wasnt busy either, yet it took over a half hour to get food that takes just a few minutes to cook. When we got it, the salad was fine but the fish was overcooked with the coating nearly burned in places and the fries were nearly cold. I would have sent it back, but I didnt want to wait again.

One of the best experiences. The moment we went in and sat at the bar, Kevin made the experience great. The food and beer was good and the price was fair. But somehow the energy of the place just seemed to be a very happy place. The when the little boy, maybe 4, got up on the stage and lip synced "sounds of Silence" everyone clapped and cheered. We also stuck our dollars on the ceiling.

Fantastic historical place! Food is great, bartender and wait staff are friendly and talkative. The decorum is fantastically historic, and is testament to its claim to "longest continually running saloon." Music and dancing at night. If you are in Yosemite or traveling through and need a place to eat, come enjoy a meal here. Pool tables in the back room, moose heads on the wall. Very fun.

Great stopping point before heading into Yosemite. Very interesting with all the stuff as well as history photos hanging in the place. They also have pool tables if you have time to kill. We also watched a couple of gentleman try to get their dollar bill stuck to the ceiling. They still had not gotten it stuck by the time we left. It was fun to watch. (Bathrooms can up an upgrade).

Totally original experience in an awesome historical setting. Real crowded in high season and very quiet in the cold season. Great to walk around and look at the history, displays, enjoy live music, open mic. and karaoke nights. Locals and tourists from every part of the world mix here. Its an experience the first time you visit. Friendly feel good crowds on vacation. Friendly service.

We went to this establishment on our way from Lake Tahoe to Yosemite. The place lived up to our expectations. It is a fun place, and it has an incredible history. Our lunch was well prepared and served hot and fresh. My only critique was that they ran out of fresh lemonade, something I was coveting when I saw it on the menu. It is a great place for kids.

Cant recommend this place. Waited way too long to get served. Tried to order from the bar and was told hed send someone to take our order. That didnt happen, so I flagged the gal down and asked if we could get a margarita. Then watched while the drinks sat on the bar for 5 minutes before we asked someone if we could have them. Crazy, smh!
