Full disclosure: Im an anglo so dont really bring expertise to this review that a Chinese person would have. That said, I found this a really good hot pot experience. Right off the bat, the restaurant passed the Asian test. We were pretty much the only non-Asian family in the place. It has the usual quick bustle of a Chinese family-style restaurant but the location and interior are attractive and the service quick but good. The food format is not what I was expecting. Each order is a large single-person serving wok with all ingredients already in the broth, brought on a wooden box with a flame underneath. There is no dipping sauce bar (probably not usual with this style of hot pot?) but a really nice cold side dish bar with a lot of authentic (duh) selections including bitter melon pickle and (my fave) lotus root. The soup base broths were all excellent and the ingredients in each pot were highly varied, from tofu skin to shell-on shrimp, to dumplings, greens, varied mushrooms, and of course thin-sliced meat. Choices include lamb, beef, chicken, pork, probably others. Our favorite was Grandmothers curry. The least favorite was our safety the chicken bowl, although even this was fine. Our slightly baffled waiter was nice about helping us navigate unfamiliar culinary waters as soon as he realized we werent after orange chicken. Definitely recommended for anglos looking to expand their horizons beyond the usual chinese-american fare.

I am a regular at this restaurant. I would have given them a four star before today, but I made a big mistake by ordering something new on the menu. It turn out totally different from how it looks on the picture and when I bite into the fish it was still cold and tasted funny. I ask the waiter to return the dish and talk to the chef, he return and said thats how the dish should be and he can only go back to reheat the dish but still need to charge us. I told the waiter go ahead and keep the dish dont bother to bring it back, just make sure the chef taste the dish in person so he knows how bad it taste. For todays experience I would have to give them a zero star. I would never go back again. Maybe they dont care because they are too busy anyway. For those of you guys that are going to give them a try, good luck!

Over all the individual hot pot places in the Bay Area, I definitely think this place is almost tied to Tasty Pot. The broth on each of the hot pots Ive ever ordered here are just divine and you can tell how much time is spent allowing the bones to flavor the broth. Also, the contents is never skimpy! They definitely pack as many things into each hot pot that they can. I also like how their broth isnt powdery like other places. Id highly recommend this place and their Lamb Special. Also, if you are feeling adventurous, at their front counter they offer a selection of cold items, try their pig ear! Its great!

I came to this place twice this week for lunches with a colleague and friend. Service has greatly improved since last week. The price is not high but you get more carbs than proteins when you order noodle soup. $10 for a noodle bowl for lunch, hmm, its actually a bit pricey. However, they have a great water view. Its marvelous and what you come here for. I bet its a good place to have a sunset drink. Maybe I will try next time for dinner. Good place for hot pots, noodles soups, and hot dishes. Interesting refreshing cold drinks.

Tucked away in the corner of this edgewater plaza, Fashion Wok offers several options for the new or veteran hot pot enthusiast. Fashion woks wide array of individual hot pot types provides several options large groups with specific pallets. I bring my coworkers here every couple weeks and weve got a bunch of picky eaters. Luckily theres a pot for each of us! And for those not into hot pot that day their menu has non-hot pot options that are just a filling and come in great portions.

Not fresh at all. Everything came from a package, prolly frozen. I kept pulling shards of shell and hard tendon from everything I was chewing. Im really praying the clams dont get me sick. Nothing tasted good, just bland and the rice was hard... looked great at presentation but not pleasing to eat at all. Also, their menu shows everything raw yet my pot came completely cooked... talk about false advertising. I will not come back!

Not the best place for a vegetarian. Even their "famous" woks are made with meat broths (although they did offer to replace it with hot water - doh!). Like many Chinese restaurants, the "Vegetarian" section should really be labeled "Vegetables" as many of the dishes have meat. They wouldnt even add tofu to any of the stir fry or noodle dishes. On the positive side, the views are nice on the patio.

The items look nothing like the menu. The slices of meat shown pre-cooked in the wok does not match the amount you actually get. But it tasted pretty good. The one thing that you should never get is the shrimp and chives pancake. In the menu it looks delicious and stuffed with goodies showing about 2 inches thick. When we got the order it was flat like Chinese onion pancakes.

Came back to try some other dishes, still delicious. Toothpick lamb, chicken in flaming oil, and chicken legs in chili peppers. Great view, good selection of spicy food with good variety of hot pots. Enjoyed the dishes we ordered, but will definitely be back to try the spicier dishes as my sister in law cant eat spicy we.ordered mild dishes.

在这家吃过好几次了,点过不下几十个菜,每个菜都好吃!特别推荐他家的凉菜,五刀一份便宜分量足且好吃!每次吃完饭都打包凉菜回家。

Pretty cool idea to have personal hot pots. There were a lot of different soups to choose from, and the food comes pre-cooked. If you dont feel like having hot pot, you can also choose to order noodle soups. I tried both and they were scrumptious! Perfect for a chilly day.

吃过很多次他们的菜,出品不错中规中矩,凉菜性价比很高,经常路过的时候打包两个凉菜回家喝喝小酒?

Best variety Ive seen in a hotpot place. Super delicious and filling. I love their milk based soups! And they have amazing desserts - their shaved ice is top notch with flavors like green tea strawberry and avocado!!!

Their individual pot comes with plentiful meat and veggie. I like to add complimentary garlic sauces to my soup to make it even more flavorful. I also like their pick your own appetizers bar.

Hot pot was great. Id definitely come back again for it. The menu is huge, so it is hard to decide and not all the other dishes were winners. The salted egg tofu wasnt salty enough for me.

People love their stinky tofu. Some of their hot pot woks need to have more flavor. Servers need to be more aware of customers to serve them properly.
