Id long heard of Five Guys, but there arent any local to me. I found myself in San Mateo for Maker Faire and overhead people saying they were going to the Foster City Five Guys for dinner. So I decided to do the same. I found the burgers equal to most non-chain greaseburger joints, but nothing distinguished them. The fries, on the other hand, were disappointing. No crunch. Limp. And as one of my pet peeves is overly large portion sizes, I ordered the "small" fires - and watched them serve it. Apparently, its their practice to cook up a fixed amount, use to to fulfill waiting orders, then dump the excess into the bags with the orders! As I was the only fry order, they first filled a small cup with my fries, placed it in the bag, added my burger, then poured the excess fries into the bag, so portion I got was HUGE! And it cost $20 for what I would by $10 for at my local greasy burger places (3 of them!).

6:00pm 1/15/2016. I left, screw that place. I waited at the counter for more than 1 minute to order dinner, seemed like I was standing there like a dummy, and thats supper not cool (5 Guys, check the cameras). The 3 non cookers were looking at some paper (I guess it was a large order that they were trying to plan out how to fill, but why should I have to care!). The 1 cashier totally ignored me and was chatting with some other patron that was not ordering food (possibly a co worker off shift?). They all (cookers and other staff) saw me and no one seemed to care. Totally disappointing from past good experiences. I left and went to Carls Jr. instead. I left, screw that place.

Pretty much any 5 Guys I go to is very similar in quality, so I am not going to comment on that (FYI, I love 5 Guys!!!) I judge 5 Guys based on how quick I can get my order. Sometimes I have to wait 15 minutes for my burger. Not with this location!! Every time I go in, the service is prompt and friendly. I dont think I have ever had to wait longer than 5 minutes for my order. Also, THEY HAVE MILKSHAKES!!!!!!!!!!!
