Decided to come here on a whim. There arent many chicken and waffle spots in the area. I was pretty excited to try this place. Even though I was craving chicken and waffles, I just got the chicken. My original side choices were collard greens and mac and cheese. I was told they we all out of collard greens. No big deal. I switched to green beans. After putting in our order, our waitress came out to tell us that the kitchen was changing the oil and it would be 10 minutes before they could cook our food. Really?? Changing the fryer oil at 1pm?!? Its still lunchtime. Anyway, got my food which looked okay. Mac and cheese was gritty. The chicken was okay nothing extraordinary. The green beans were the absolute worst. Salty and mushy!! The best part of my experience was that my water was never empty. I would take a sip and someone would come by to fill it right away.

Being from the south I got really excited about finding a soul food restaurant. Needless to say this food had everything BUT soul! The greens had a very tart taste that could not be corrected whatsoever. The macaroni and cheese had a powder taste and there was no cheese to be found. Words cannot express the "smothered potatoes"! They were the absolute worst. The only thing somewhat savagable were the red beans and even still, I did not eat them. The chicken wings were okay. I ordered peach cobbler and it was ice cold! However, I cannot comment on the cornbread (I did not taste it) because I was over everything at this point. The best thing I received from this meal was the packets of hot sauce and plastic utensils! Needless to say I wont be back for more!

This is owned by the same family that runs the original House of Chicken and Waffles in Oakland. We came here late afternoon for lunch. First impression wasnt great as most of the dirty tables just sat there. We were seated by the one of few employees there. No smiles. The menu was dishes named after people. Sounds cute but took much longer to read through each description and they decided the combo of sides with a charge for substitution. The chicken was ok, waffle wasnt very good. The worst part was one of their employees came out of the bathroom with sagging pants. I got a full frontal view of his boxers. The dirty tables were not cleaned the whole time we were there.

my gosh the challenge of serving the only 3 customers promptly? Friendlly service doesnt cover up for the slow service (food was sitting on counter for 5-7 minutes while Wait staff chatted ... and another person right beside the food arranged napkins) and super overpriced food ($5 for a piece of fried chicken ? Thats hitting gourmet restaurant pricing and this is far from it) I do want to like this place but its just not worth the money. At this pricing, Id expect impeccable service at the very least. This place is NOT worth the money

Before you continue, I am going to give this place another chance. The prices are pretty here, but I think they have alot of potential. The waiter was nervous but the waitress was well trained and amazing at her job. The food I got was Jessies party. The wings were fried correctly but I expected more flavour. The fries had great flavour but lacked crispness. They needed to put more seasoning on the wings and fry the fries another three minutes more. Ill try it one more time.

I wanna start with the positive. The service was amazing. They made sure we had everything we wanted or needed. Our glasses were never empty. The food portions were huge. Now the negative. The chicken my husband had was dry and overcooked. The Mac n cheese was way too salty. My chicken livers were gritty and greasy. And I had gotten scrambled eggs with runny bits all in it. All in all it really wasnt a great experience.

The chicken was super tasty but it took 30 mins to come out. However, they had a lot of people on a Friday night. The hospitality from the servers were extremely friendly because they came around constantly and I had constant refills on my delicious sweet tea. The sides were tasty and even though the wait was long Ill still come back. The waffle seems smaller than the Oakland location though.

These guys make the best waffles I have had in the Bay Area. When I am in a mood for sweets I know that I cant go wrong with Home of Chiken and Waffles. Sometimes they get busy and service is a little slow but the quality of the food justifies the wait. Anyway, my experiences at thus restaurant have been pretty solid despite the negative reviews I found on other websites.

There is a hygiene problem here, I have been here twice, the first time I walked out. Second time around I saw the same bad practices. The person handling you food and vegetables is using the same gloves to go and open the refrigerators in the back wiping up and then holding your pieces of chicken with the same gloves to put food in your plate.

The busser/host was super nice, the server did impress me by memorizing our order (not writing it down). HOWEVER, the wait was long, the floor was dirty, the food didnt have much flavor to it, service was ssllloooooooowwww, and it seemed pricey to me. Never returning, and I dont recommend it. Still going to work my way to Roscoes!

I walked in and waited 10 minutes to get greeted. The bartender was the one to greet me not a server. He said "what do you need." Sat down and waited again. Ordered some Jessies party. Which took 30 minutes to come out. Never asked me for water once. Horrible experience and service.

With all things considered we enjoyed our visit here. The chicken batter was not as salty as I prefer but still good. The waffles are nice and crispy served with hot syrup. I would skip the biscuits cause its dry and not good. Servers are still new but nice.

Theres nothing comparable in the area. The service is very friendly in neighborly way. Twice Ive left some important personal item where I say and they went out of their way to return it to me. Love the greens and grits along with the chicken & waffles.

the food is great! but... they always run out of items on the menu. Mostly the fries,chickenstrips and chips, the last time i went i was starving and annoyed because i have not had food that day . Chicken and waffles is a 3/10

Service is great, waffles are like the softest and most delicious waffles I ever had. The chicken is Crispy on the outside and juicy in the outside. Recomend it to everyone in Daly City,Walnut Creek, and Oakland.

How is the food so bland, expensive, and poorly cooked? How was this so bad? Why did my grits have a rind on em? Dang, this was the worst meal Ive had since I got to SF. I wish Id noticed it was in a mall. RIP.
