Cool organic Japanese bakery that offers bread, cakes, cupcakes, macarons, Intelligentsia coffee, and Taras ice cream. This is one of very few places in the bay area that serve matcha lattes. (They say "green tea" but they actually use matcha powder, which is basically the king of green teas.) I had my matcha latte made with half sugar. The matcha flavor wasnt as strong as that of other matcha lattes Ive had in Japan, but it was good and satisfied my matcha craving. (Its probably a good thing if they use less matcha because I had trouble sleeping after drinking matcha lattes in Japan. The caffeine content of matcha is substantial.) The only thing I would change is the slightly grainy texture of the matcha latte (compared with matcha lattes Ive had in Tokyo)... not sure what is causing it, but it would be great if they could fix that. The bakery also has matcha cupcakes and matcha brioches. There is very little seating inside, but if you go on an off hour, its a nice clean place to chill out with a warm drink and some yummy treats.

Such a lovely place to have tea with dessert! The service is outstanding also. Thats why I give this place 5 stars. A co-worker and I stopped by to wait out the traffic on one of the weeknights and both of us ordered two different kinds of tea. Each tea arrived in individual tea pots with beautiful tea cups and even a sand-watch, to tell us when we can start sipping the tea. They have so many different teas to choose from! I will definitely go back to try more flavors. And the croissant that I had was also very good. They have a large variety of different cakes and pastries to choose from. All looked very appetizing and stunning.

Prices are outrageous for the quantity and quality. The service was horrible--i stood at the counter for over 5 minutes ready to order but the young female staff couldnt care less. There wasnt any other customer in the store. I got one slice of cake and two bread items. The passion fruit cake had absolutely ZERO passion fruit flavor! The size was less than petite. The brioche was not flavorful and rich. It didnt taste like it was baked on the same day. I have baked a lot of brioche in my life, and so I know how good brioche tastes like.

The best Latte in the city!!! Im not exaggerating, tried other places that are famous for their espresso-based drinks but La Terra are by far the best one. Their cakes are also very good, high quality, I would dare to say French bakery quality. The service is welcoming and fast and the place itself is very clean and cozy. Couldnt recommend more of this place. Just love it.
