The food is quality, but not quantity. Waitress was attentive, but for 72$ it was a very light fare. The cherry salmon was fantastic, a very unique flavor, we never received our saltwater eel which I was looking forward too. All of the menu items were rather small, only 2-6 pieces. They were traditional Japanese style cuisine, the sign on the door even said "we do not serve American rolls" All together it was 12 pieces of nigiri plus soup and a sake. Dont bring an appetite. McDonalds is down the street to top the night off. This is miscategorized and needs to be listed as more then one $ sign, probably two or three to be screened appropiately.

Got the omakase. The reason why I made it 4/5 its because I though their starter plate is a little too salty. However, their fish selections were very fresh and the rice were well made with the perfect amount of vinegar, soy sauce and wasabi. I like how they each plate were a selection of fishes with similar flavor profiles. They started off with light flavors and then ending it with more umami and fatty fishes like otoro. The chawanmushi is unique. It had little bits of uni and had a more umami flavor in it.

This is very interesting restaurant, wont notice it unless you know about it. Their food is amazingly good and fresh, one of the best sushi Ive had, but the size is very small, we ordered so many but I didnt leave satisfied. and the service is a little slow between the plates so the whole time I guess you are excited on the edge of your seat for the next plate ;) But the service other than that is very good, very nice and polite. SO I guess I will definitely come back here, but not when Im starving :)

delicious, fresh fish. his amaebi was to die for, topped with a little uni sauce too! highlight of my meal. next time I have to try the whelk... supposedly it is similar in texture to giant clam. also really enjoyed the Kobe beef carpaccio, and the smoked orange clam starter. the toro was solid(ly awesome) but then toro always is!

Great Omakase. Some dishes definitely wowed us. Our favorite was the uni + truffle chawanmushi (egg custard). The scallop sashimi with potato chip was also a winner. If you are looking for great sushi, Oshima or Nana-san in OC would be better. But Ikko has great mix of cooked food items and a touch of fusion for added creativity.

Best sushi and modern Japanese cuisine. Perfectly cooked and seasoned shari (rice) paired with a wide selection of netta (toppings) of fish and other seafood from Japan and around the world. The appetizers and seasonal cooked and sashimi style small dishes are absolutely delicious. Ikko is awesome!

This place is a real gem. During lunch, you can order most a la carte items in the dinner menu. The fish is really fresh and they have daily specials on the chalk board. The ambience is cozy, chic, and romantic. Perfect location for a date or a client meeting. Expansive sake selection too.

Holy cow. Some of the best sushi I have had anywhere. Had the sushi omakase, fantastic array of fish (and a wagyu beef one!) and very reasonably priced for the amount and quality of food. Wish I lived closer; would be here every week.

Dry rice with the sashimi. Fish was just ok. Got the bill prematurely even though they had plenty of tables left and it would be another 20 mins before closing. Not sure what that was about.
