We are not locals, we are from New Jersey and were driving through the area while on a trip to LA and San Diego over the Xmas holidays. We were looking for an Indian restaurant that served decent food without charging an arm and a leg. Mother India far exceeded our expectations. The buffet was very moderately priced at $9.99 per person. We had two kids, but they didnt charge us for the 5 year old, that was very nice of them. The food was very good, very authentic north Indian style, cooked as if you are cooking for guests at your home (as opposed to using excessive oil and spices). The best part was the naans - plain and garlic naans, freshly made and served at our table. If we were locals, we would have definitely made this a regular event. We will be back here, if we are ever in this area.

our friends and I went to mother india tonight. we had a wide assortment of different foods - all were good. of note, the garlic naan was too garlicly (and we love garlic) - it was as if the garlic was raw. the chicken marsala was extraordinary... actually, everything was really good. the service was another deal all together. our server looked to be the owner or the boss. he was completely humorless and could not recommend anything when asked. it took over 35 minutes for our food to come out after ordering... we had to hail the wait staff over a number of times after trying to get their attention to order more food/drinks. I think you will like this place, but be prepared for really awful service.

I came right when they closed for lunch, but the gentleman let me in anyways. The service was excellent, my waiter constantly checking up on me and refilling my beverage. He even brought out fresh garlic naan just for me. The food is extremely good; I would have paid more for the buffet. The only negative is that the selection was somewhat limited, otherwise it would have received 5 stars. All in all this is a great place for lunch, and I will be a repeat customer

Service was great, food was fantastic. I had the vegetable samosas, chicken vindaloo and obligatory naan. Samosas were much larger than expected and perfectly flaky and flavorful. I amped up the spices on the vindaloo and it was everything I was hoping for. Not from the area but highly recommend to anyone looking for great Indian food.

Great lil place to eat for a great price. Ive been a local here for 3 years now and they are fast with the food and a nice environment. Dont expect to be blown away. Very relaxed atmosphere. Do not recommend the buffet at lunch really. Go for a date night and enjoy the Taj Mahal Beer with a good curry! Just like home in England!

A quiet place with a fine dinning atmosphere. The service was great, very attentive and our food was quick and very delicious! Amazing lamb and chicken curry, we got the November dinner special for two. We went on a Sunday night, fairly slow at that time but we were well cared for. I will be returning soon!

This food at this restaurant is so amazing I want to eat it even when im not even hungry. I recomend the tandori quail as an appetizer and the lamb tikka masala as the main course.For desert try the pistachio ice cream or kulfi. Try this place once and it will become your favorite restaurant.

I wish I could give more than five stars! The food was spectacular but even more so was the service. They let us keep our cars parked outside while we saw a show and let us use the bathroom when we came back; everything came quickly and was delicious

Outstanding authentic Indian food. The only slight miss is the sag paneer. Missing some spices, and wish it would be palak paneer. Highly attentive staff. I eat Indian food around the world, and this place is outstanding.

Dear owner, friendly advice.. Please go to Bombay Tandoori in Torrance for lunch and see how buffet is done.. Presentation plus food options.. .. Onion pickle chat chillies samosas.. Taste the items and see the difference..

Worst food. It is waste to go there, even food is $11. You can give this money to a poor guy instead of this place. There are other good India places in Irvine and cost almost same like $12-14. So do not go there.

The service sucks, unless you are eating at the buffet. The owner is an great guy but the waiter isnt that helpful. Little Indias restaurants are much better (in Artesia)
