We arrive, were seated, we order water to start because its soooooo hot outside. I head to the restroom, on the other side of the restaurant, and come back and...no water. I look through the menu and settle on the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich w/sweet potato fries and Hubby orders the weekly special: Buffalo Burger w/regular fries. We order when the waiter comes back (still no water) and Hubby orders a beer as well. When the waiter comes back with the beer, he then has the water with him. Im parched at this point. The food came promptly. My sandwich was not what I was expecting. The chicken had a thick breading on the outside and was cooked to the point of no moisture. It appeared to have buffalo sauce on it, but I could barely taste it; the bleu cheese overwhelmed everything, even when I removed as much cheese as I could from the second half. Hubby couldnt taste the buffalo sauce on his burger either and was equally dismayed at the presentation. He described his meal, including the fries, as "disappointing." Im giving the place 2 stars because their sweet potato fries were good. On the other hand, Ive never had bad sweet potato fries. Will not be coming back after the poor service and mediocre food.

Ever since Pyramid Alehouse closed in Walnut Creek this has been our go-to restaurant. We bring our growler in a few times a month for a refill. Since the growler was from pyramid, they required an EJ Phair sticker be applied in order to receive a refill. Was not a problem. Sticker covering Pyramid logo and a refill for $12. That is until our last visit that they decide to charge us $12x2 because our growler is now apparently larger than the normal. It is an average 2L jug. After explaining to the server that we have always been charged $12, she explains that it was the bartenders decision. Didnt bother to check with anyone, just dropped the check off and left. Pretty sure that our pints with dinner were cheaper than the growler (which makes absolutely no sense). While the food was great, the beer (which is the main thing they having going for them) is way over priced. Not recommended

I had a few beers while waiting for food to go. There was a nice selection of local beers on tap, as well as in bottles. The bartender was a nice enough guy, but he did not know anything about the menu. Each time I asked a question he had to run to the kitchen to get the answer. Hence I had beers, plural, while I waited. I had never eaten hear before and I was picking up food to take to a sick family member. I went with the sausage trio and mashed potatoes. The sausage selection rotates and that day they were all chicken varieties. The were all very tasty and tender. There was a ground mustard sauce poured over everything which complemented each sausage well. The mashed potatoes werent special but they didnt let me down. I would order it again to try different sausage flavors. My friends ordered the fish n chips and said they were great

E.J. Phair has some thoughtful attention to detail I rarely see anywhere. The interior is inviting and cozy. The menu has detailed descriptions of every item. Great craft beers at great prices. The food is flavorful, not just salty. I saw the bartender rinsing the outside of the glasses of his draught orders after pouring excess foam off the top- just so guests never handle a sticky glass. Overall, staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Will be returning with friends!

I really like the food and atmosphere here. The only reason I didnt give a 5th star was because of the smaller IPA selection, but they do brew their own beer so thats great. I asked for them to make Mac n Cheese out of the Ghost Pepper cheese thats on one of their burgers. They said yes, and not taking into account Home Room, it has been there best Mac n Cheese Ive ever eaten!

Nice place to treat yourself to tasty beer, if you dont mind it hitting your wallet a little bit. Last time I went in there for dinner and a gentleman was kind enough help me determine a good choice for the flavor profile I was looking for. The one I chose happened to be pricey but he came through on a little discount for me. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, good food.

A solid brew pub. Im not sure E. J.s would get as a a rating if I didnt have great memories there. The food is good but depending on the cook it can be hit or miss. The guest beers are great but most of the in house brews arent anything special. I love the location, the staff is friendly, and its moderately priced. A good spot to catch a game or take the family

Well the brunch quality has gone down the last few visits. Still a decent quantity but the kitchen doesnt keep the food hot enough. Everything lukewarm. Bacon and sausage overdone and server today (gal in the back) had an attitude when we complained about the lukewarm coffee

EJ always has a great selection of beers on tap, especially if youre a hop head. Im anxiously awaiting the return of Shortys now that the Pittsburg brewery is open. Food is good, not great. Brunch is amazing with bottomless mimosas and the people are great!

The beer for the most part is good. The place itself is nicely appointed and cozy. But the accoustics make it much too loud when the band is playing. The play room in the back is nice with its pool tables. The food is average to lousy.

Ive tried this place multiple times and the food has gotten worse every trip. If you pay $11 for a burger you deserve more than what you get. Beers are ok. Good location, but I think Im done eating dinner here

Independent brewery that serves very decent food, especially given the price and atmosphere. They have a great selection of microbrews. I recommend the lamb sliders with feta and grilled onions.

The location and ambience is great, but twice I have been really disappointed with mediocre, over-cooked food and functional service. There are lots of better places around Todos Santos square!

Fantastic food, great vibes.loved the ahi sandwich and the potato salad. The saison and face puncher were okay, but nothing to write home about. But also, Im spoiled with CO local brews.

Great place to enjoy a brew and a bite with friends. Great view of the park. Friendly service and a rotating selection of craft brews for something new every time you show up.

Great beer. Try the Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat, its amazing. The staff is pretty friendly and the environment is fun. The menu has a ton of really good stuff on it too.
