My boyfriend and I ate here yesterday and I was pretty happy with the Gilroy Burger that I ordered and along with his steak salad. Im a sweet and salty person so the sweetness from the cranberries and the salt from the meat hit the spot just perfectly. I was kind of mad at my boyfriend for eating some of my burger at first but realized I couldnt finish the last bite of it so he ended up finishing it for me. The steak from my boyfriends salad was tender and flavorful just by itself. And with the salad, it was even better. I like the seasoning Dog House Grill puts on their fries but I love the fries served over here better. The texture and crispiness of both the fries and tater tots are perfect. I would like to add that I like Mad Duck better than Dog House Grill. I will definitely be coming back. I gave the rating a 4 star because the service was decent. I did however was disappointed my son didnt get his cup of milk until later during mid time of our meal.

Good beer selection, decent (if somewhat predictable) food and good atmosphere. The tater tots here might be the best Ive ever had, the fish and chips was fine and the deviled eggs were really good. There was some sort of spicy shrimp roll that was also pretty good (a little too much bread, though). I was definitely surprised at how good the beer selection was, and they change it up a lot. Always ask, though, because sometimes theres a beer listed on the chalkboard that isnt actually available that day. Service can be a little slow sometimes, but it is friendly. I will definitely be back the next time Im in Fresno to visit family.

Daughter and I stopped by for a bite in January and the food was yummy, but I didnt get a chance to try your craft beer... it looked good! *We are from Washington State, not knowing of any place there in Clovis/Fresno FOOD/BREWERY places to eat ? Daughter and fiancé just moved up there not knowing anybody and they heard about "The Mad Duck" from the baseball coach at FSU. :) PS We went to Old Clovis to "Soup and Scoop" and we walked in and I asked what was the soup and they said WE DONT HAVE ANY SOUP. #conservativeportions #toomanyCHAINrestaurants #noplacelikehome #gohawks #runspokane #

I went looking for a place to watch the Rose Bowl today and found the Mad Duck Grill to be a nice place to settle in at the bar. The Napa Burger and sweet potato fries were excellent. The big TVs were bright and close, with one tuned into ESPN and the other on ESPN News. The sound was off, which suited me fine. This is a place for quiet conversation with friends while enjoying good food. The bartender/manager was very polite and accommodating. I didnt feel the least bit rushed. This small, somewhat upscale establishment has my recommendation.

Came here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon, pretty empty, which was a good thing since we hate waiting. I had the Cali Mad Burger and my bf had the Triple Bypass with a couple of large hemp ales. Soooo good! I should have ordered the Bypass because I kept taking bites of my bfs food! My burger was awesome too but not out of this world. Definitely better than several other restaurant burgers though! I loved this lil spot, the waiters were great and super attentive, also around the corner from my house!

We came late but still expect better service. We ordered to go and noticed the cook brought the food out pretty quickly, girls at the front desk saw it being placed, said "its theres" to eachother and didnt bother letting us know our food was ready... waited about 5 minutes in confusion waiting for them to tell us our food was ready. They didnt. We had to go ask if it was ours and they said yeah and we left. Wont be returning.

Everyone knows that the Micronet Computers guys have to blow off a little steam after work, and the Duck is a great place to do it. Im having a tall Sculpin with the gang, while waiting on my California Mad Burger. Cant wait for the food to get here so in the meantime, Ill have another beer. Come visit and enjoy the great atmosphere and old times pub decor. If you see me here come say hi and buy me a shot.

Mad Duck at Fresno State: worst service. Unfriendly, unhappy servers. They acted like indentured servants. I would probably overlook the average food if the dining experience were better. However, great location and very cool design. It reminds me of a BMW kit car. Looks cool on the outside, but the guts (people who work there & food) suck.

Tasty food. What I tried wasnt horribly unique, though. Good orders of fries. They worked with us to surprise my friend for his birthday. Messed up one of our partys orders twice but comped us for the inconvenience. 40 minute wait for a table and another long wait for our food after ordering, but they were very busy.

Good atmosphere and great prices for a sit down beer and burger joint. They had a delicious vegan sandwich option for my girlfriend as well. For the non-vegans try the Backyard Burger with their IPA. The BBQ sauce they use is amazinggg. I feel now as if I am the maddest of ducks.

Great beer, better than pub grub and friendly staff. It can get pretty crowded between 5-7 but the service is quick and turnover helps new tables open. Families are welcome at the tables and patio. Its a great neighborhood place.

The deviled eggs were good, fish and chips good. The thing that i was disappointed in was the almost non existant variety of brew. It is a taphouse.. more variety of porters and stouts would make the mad duck a true taphouse. :)

Good food bad service... had to wait 20 minutes for someone to get us drinks then our waiter never came back, he was too busy flirting with the table of girls! we had to stop another waiter who already had several other tables!

I loved everything here. The servers were all helpful, no matter who came to your table. The food is creative and absolutely delicious. They have an obvious care in their home brewed beers, and the cocktails were good too.

The menu at Clovis commons is not the sane as the one in fresno. Food okay a little pricey so are there cocktails. Dont really think you get your bang for your buck at this location.
