Where to start! I would have given this place 4 stars solely for the chef, had it not been for the COCKROACH!!! Alright, my family had made a reservation for my engagement party. We were unable to sit until the whole party was there, but once we got up to 14 people, out of the 17, we decided to be seated. There are three pregnant women in the group, and we were all getting quite hungry at this point. We let the hostess know we were waiting on 3 more people, but they would be about 15 minutes late. They decided to seat another family at our table, which was super weird to me since this was a very personal and special event to us. When the remainder of our guests arrived, we had to shuffle a couple chairs in, since you know, they sat another family at our table. (WHATEVER, it ended up working out.) We had two servers, one male, one female. The female server was being very snarky and gave me a bit of attitude, which was totally uncalled for. Thankfully I only saw her once, as she never even came by to refill waters/drinks. Anyways, moving on to the chefs. We had two very awesome chefs preparing food for us, although one of them had a nasty cough. He kept coughing into his sleeve, and my hubby was less than impressed with that, to say the least. The other chef however, was phenomenal, and kept us all entertained and was even throwing in a joke here and there. That part was awesome! I even got to catch a bit of rice that he threw at me in the air. (Caught it on the 3rd try!) Food was great, I ordered the NY Steak and Shrimp. We had quite the variety of dishes, from seafood combos, to chicken teriyaki, calamari, etc. Everyone seemed to be satisfied with the flavor/portions. My mother in law brought me a beautiful cheesecake, with strawberries on it, which we even shared with the family that sat with us. I had my slice in front of me, and was waiting for a fork, in a caddy provided by the restaurant, when I noticed there was a damn cockroach walking all over the caddy, happy as a clam. This of course made me lose my appetite, and made me lose my $30 dinner down the toilet at this filthy establishment. I was so sad, because Ive been a server since I was 16 and would never dream of ruining somebodys engagement party with a disgusting roach!!! All 17 of us were on one check, and my in-laws paid. I have no idea how much the tab was, but Im guessing it was probably around $500-600. Im sure the owners/management are aware of their bug problem-- at least they are now. I will !!!!NEVER!!!! recommend this restaurant, and hope that they make an effort to rid themselves, and their poor customers, of this atrocious infestation.

My boyfriend and I used to go to JK just about every two weeks (every pay day) and the food was always so so good and service was not bad either. Every chef cooks differently so you can go there once and love it and go again and get a different chef and the food could be not as great. It really depends on the chef you get. Well like I said we visited JK quite frequently so we were familiar with the way the chef cooked (he puts sesame seeds in everything) so before he started I asked him to not put any sesame seeds in any of my food, he said okay and began to cook our meal. long story short he put sesame seeds in everything and also mixed some other things up with our order but it wasnt the end of the world and I wasnt going to make a big deal about it. Im just not the type of person to be rude or complain so we went on with our meal. When it came to my boyfriends steak he burned the hell out of it, it was literally crisp like bacon. He didnt even touch it and we decided to just leave. I didnt feel comfortable paying that much for a burnt steak so we brought it up to the manager and he pretty much blew us off, said too bad and took our payment. It was ridiculous we left all the steak on the table untouched didnt even take it with us. I work at a restaurant my self and anytime a guest has a concern about the service my managers are more than willing and happy to correct the issue. I was really disappointed with the response I received from the manager! Not even an "Im sorry about that" or anything. Sad to say we wont be going there anymore.

Well, it figures that as soon as I start singing the praises of this place, we would go there for dinner with friends and have a horrible experience. I didnt realize they double the prices at dinner.... For lunch the prices are good, but I wont pay their dinner prices again... Just too expensive. On top of that the service we received this time was terrible. I was embarrassed because I had just finished raving to my friends about how awesome this place was. If you go there, go for lunch, and dont expect too much from the customer service, youll probably have a nice time. Skip this place at dinner time ;) ----------------------------- We love this place!! Its not the most entertaining tapenyaki show, but the food is really good, and the price is right! Where else can you eat this kind of food for $9 a plate??

OMG let me tell you, Ive been here 2 times already the first being as horrible it was, i decided to give it another chance a year later. Same horrible experience. Service was terrible. The waitress literally was running away everytime I asked for something that SHE forgot to bring me. If you order a drink other than water (like soda!) they charge for refills. I ordered the rainbow roll and all the fish were dry! I ordered the bento lunch and they give you Itallian noodles! The egg roll tasted like it was made 3 months in advance and re-fried several times. The chicken was rubbery and dry. The tempura batter tasted old as well. The only thing I enjoyed from the meal was the rice. THANK GOD they didnt mess up the rice! I will NEVER eat there again and I will be sure to tell EVERYONE I know not to either!!!!

Thee worst SERVICE anywhere Ive been and the food wasnt good either. If you fo to be served somewhere I think you should be asked "is there anything else or anything I can get you" and I wasnt even asked once. Got there right before the dinner rush but our main server acted as if he was too busy to even get back to our table for anything we had already asked for when we ordered. My husband ordered spicy and ginger sauce and had to ask twice. Got my sushi order 5 minutes before we left because yet again, we had gotten there before the dinner rush but yet my roll was somehow forgotten. Never had the chance to ask for chopsticks either, which should be on every place setting, I think. Will NEVER go there again! Food wasnt even good.

We were staying overnight at the Hilton Garden Inn, and we were hungry. I checked local restaurants and decided to surprise my honey with a chop-chop dinner. She was delighted! We lucked out and there were 2 seats at a table that was about to start. Our chef was funny, fancy and did a great job. Our waitress was awesome, keeping out iced teas full throughout the performance. The food was very, very good! My filet mignon was very tender. Her NY steak was not as tender but was good. The shrimp was tasty. WAY too much food for us! We had an excellent dinner and a fun time. Highly recommended!
