I come here often, and the food is always good. They have a great chef working their that makes real authentic sushi. Prices are above average, but you pay for good food./ But last time I got some sushi to go, and I was a bit surprised at how much it costs since its usually cheaper, though I didnt think too much of it. When I got home I realized they overcharged me $5 for a $15 meal I usually get. So I paid $20, plus another $2 for tip on a take out order. Ugh, so lame, I hate when mom n pop shops are inconsistent with pricing, or rather, taking advantage of a customer by charging extra just for the hell of it. Not only did I pay $22 for a $15 item, but it usually comes with a small salad, and miso soup. I didnt get the miso soup. The chef is great, and his sushi is probably the best in town, but whats with the waitresses being so, not sure how to put this, a mix of rude and disinterest. Its that feeling where they may say polite words, but the tone and body language show a rude attitude.

Like others have said about this place, truly a good authentic sushi place. I came in to have a few beers and Jack the sushi chef gave me a couple complimentary items off the menu to try after i told him Ive been trying to find a good authentic place since Ive moved back. Family owned for over 21 years this place is the best Ive found yet. Unless you like the Americanized sushi (drowned in mayo and crappy sweet sauce) dont bother coming here. And you can tell his fish good quality compared to everyone elses pre frozen, no flavor fish. I will definitely come back regularly!

This is the best sushi place in the Clovis/Fresno area and has been for like 20 years long before the boom of sushi around here. If you want traditional style sushi with excellent fresh fish prepared by a great chef this is the place to go hands downe. If your idea of "Sushi" is sauce covered deep fried fancy named rolls like those served in every single other Sushi place in the valley then this might not be your cup of tea. Best fish around, and try their Green Tea ice cream. Better than whatever is server at other places.

If you really like sushi, this is the best place in Clovis/Fresno. I never had the other plates, or rolls, as I only eat sushi when I go there. The fish is always fresh, never had a bad meal in over 10 years going there. The place is simple, but the sushi is great.

Beautiful presentation, wonderful flavors, excellent service, simple decor. The best authentic sushi in town. We had beef teriyaki, tuna donburi, spicy crab roll, sashimi, and seafood salad. Every dish and roll was delightful. And they have Sapporo on tap.

The only Japanese sushi that is AUTHENTIC and original. Most sushi places are "americanized" which is also great but there is nothing like eating in Kijima to experience such a beautiful delicious meal prepared by one of the best sushi chefs in town.

The food was great and so was the service. We had sushi and sashimi, fresh and very good. I would recommend this place. The restaurant is older so aesthetically the environment may not be the best. But the food and service out shine the looks.

Best classic style sushi in the Valley. No fancy named deep fried rolls or anything here, but if you want the best sushi around this is where to go. Always picks the best fish and it is noticeably superior to every other sushi place around.

Relatively unknown compared to other sushi joints in the area, but definitely one of the best. They also serve other traditional Japanese dishes too if you dont want sushi. Definitely a go-to spot for me and my wife since discovering it.

Great food and friendly service. My girlfriend is a tea enthusiast and was very excited about their toasted rice sencha green tea. The food was fantastic and authentic. We had the vegetable tempura and katsu. We cant wait to go back.

Excellent food, great service. Take it from me, I have eating there since I was a child. It is the only true Japanese resturant in town.
