An old culinary stalwart in Cerritos, Thai Original BBQ has been serving up the delicious spices & flavors of Thailand for years. Located in the nondescript Cerritos Triangle, across from the mall on 183rd, Ive dined here a handful of times throughout the years. Not having visited in a long while, we came here after redeeming a free premium fruit smoothie coupon at Dairy Queen in front of Thai Originial BBQ Being the weekend, the lunch specials were unavailable. Therefore, we decided upon the house specials (shrimp fried rice included)- BBQ Chicken House Special - The skin, its all about the skin. Packed with flavor, the half chicken was moist & tender. Besides the ribs, the BBQ chicken is the most popular item. A heaping mound of shrimp fried rice completes the meal. A great dish to get. Crispy Duck House Special - Whu hoppen?!? How can you mess up something inherently delicious as duck? Overcooked, tough & just not good. The only slightly redeeming factor being the fatty skin. I asked an attendant that I thought (actually I knew) the duck to be overcooked, to which he replied thats how they cook it. On the bright side the shrimp fried rice was good & the bed of steamed broccoli underneath the duck helped for a filling meal. Alas, that duck though....... Service was good. Our waters were refilled and the attendants were friendly & pleasing. A fair amount of seating, with tables, booths & a private area in the front. Parking is in a private lot shared by such businesses as Chennai Tiffins, Native Visions, Dairy Queen & Josephines. Thai Original BBQ, you left me in dismay on a Saturday. While your BBQ chicken & ribs are excellent menu choices, I cant in good conscience recommend ordering the crispy duck. It fell flatter than a pancake. Order the chicken & ribs, avoid the crispy duck

I came here with the expectation that this place is just like their other restaurants in LA & Carson. I always order Dearest Crab from their menu. I was disappointed, the taste doesnt even come close from their LA & Carson locations. They dont have "the sauce" for it. I cant describe it. They give me vinegar with cucumber. I was like, where is the sauce? The waitress said, thats it. pretending she doesnt know what Im talking about, but she was offering other sauce that is similar looking to the original sauce that comes with dearest crab. Not mention shes charging me extra $0.25 for it. Im already upset that they dont have the sauce; and, then charge me to change the sauce?Comon where is the compromise in replace of a good customer service? The dearest crab was soggy. As I remember it right, dearest crab is a Pattie of a crab in combination with noodles, & pork. There was no noodle on it. It was made sloppy. The time to be seated & to get your order is ridiculous too.

Horrific service! Will never come back nor recommend. Took 10 minutes to be attended to and when we were they were still rude. Never felt welcome here and shouldve followed my instinct and left. Waiters never checked on us... We had to flag them down just for condiments and refills. Ordered Chicken Tom Yum, BBQ Chicken, and Drunken Noodles. Soup wasnt hot nor flavorful, drunken noodles werent spicy, and by the way they charged me $2.50 for a refill of thai iced tea. Do yourself a favor and drive a few miles away to Sizzling Thai in Downey. Its cheaper also. Dont Do It! Waste of $35

We came in at 11.30 am on a Saturday and we didnt have to wait to get a seat. The staff are quick and attentive and the food was served fast too. We ordered the Thai chicken BBQ with Thai fried rice and I loved it! The chicken was very flavorful an the skin was juicy. The vegetables and the sauce were sweet and fresh. The rice was just right that it didnt overpower the taste of the chicken. Great 5 stars!

Cant go wrong, the food is delicious the prices are great, specially for the abundant amount on the plates. Weve never been able to finish everything but were more than glad to take it home and enjoy it again. Overall great prices good service and delicious food.Me and my girl have become regulars. Try the pad thai, basil chicken, and shrimp fried rice its more than enough to feed about 4 for about 30 bucks

Been coming here for 20+ years and the food never disappoints. Ask for the Coconut Soup with Shrimp as a starter, you wont regret it. Prices are reasonable. I just wish the servers were happier and more friendly, but maybe thats a cultural thing. Regardless, the overall experience was a good one.

Food wasnt as good as it looked. The meat was way too dry for my liking, and when i ordered the corn on the side it was 70% kale and only a couple scoops of corn. I got the trio and the smokey chick? I feel the place is more presentation then taste wise. At least the cashier guy was friendly.

The pad thai and the majority of the dishes were all just salty. It didnt taste like Thai food at all. The servers were rude and barely checked up on us. One server pushed a little boy out of the way. Definitely not worth the money.. or calories.

Found out about this place from daughter. Ive never dined-in; only take out. The Chicken Noodle is fantastic. If they say order ready in X number of minutes, the food is ready in X number of minutes. Friendly staff. Place is great.

Meats overcooked, bland seasonings. Great rice minus the shrimp. Service was fast but almost seemed to rush us to order. Ive had better.

This is far the best thai place between LA and San Diego. Very authentic and prices are good from papaya salad to drunken noodle.
