One of the best Indian/Nepalese Restaurants in the area! (5/5 green stars) Mount Everest is becoming my go-to local Indian/Nepalese spot. I think it’s on-par with my other fav local Indian spot, Flavors of India, and perhaps a little better for ambiance. Good selection of vegetarian and vegan options. If you prefer your curry on the mild side, they do a good job here with reducing the heat but keeping it flavorful. Last visit, we tried the Kacho Alu Tareko from the organic specials menu – potato with a thick coating of spiced chickpea flour, deep fried. I’d never seen that before and I’d recommend it if you’re in the market for a hearty appetizer. Also recommend the Malai Kofta and Navratna Korma. Reasonable prices and good service. I’m also giving Mount Everest 4/5 “green stars” for social and environmental impact, based on these reasons: • A decent number of dishes are vegetarian or vegan. • They have a specials menu that’s all organic. • Could do with more local drinks selection (and no PepsiCo). • If you have left-over food, they package it in the typical Chinese take-out boxes. I prefer this to plastic containers but they are still polyethylene-lined so it would be nice to see an upgrade to completely compostable boxes. • Indian food is generally based on sustainable ingredients like potatoes and legumes (lentils and chickpeas).

Disgusting food, if you are desi avoid this place. Very Americanized food, naan are thick as size of flip flops. Food is very creamy to fit the appetite for american whos pallets are different. Again if you looking for authentic desi food this not for you and any time avoid rating. Their spicy is damn creamy and food is sweet momo are old and food is expensive yes you order and forget about food they are super slow

I highly recommend the lamb vindaloo! We usually forgo rice and order several orders of Naan once its so tasty. My faves are the garlic naan and honey naan! Last time I also ordered lamb kebab, and although the flavor was divine, they overcooked the meat(in my opinion) next time, Ill be sure to ask for it rate in the hopes it will come out med rate and Not well done and hard.

Ive been here twice and will likely go back again soon. The aroma outside the building is almost too good to pass up if youre hungry! The food seemed authentic to me and the flavors very rich and diverse. Ive eaten quite a lot of Indian and Nepali food over the years so I can feel good about recommending this place to just about anyone.

Good food at good prices. Some authentic Nepali items were on the menu. Sekuwa were the best. Momos were made in the restaurant and were very tasty, especially liked the sauce that it came with. We arrived late near closing but the owner was kind enough to let us sit and eat way past the closing time. Would recommend to check it out.

Very friendly service. Well maintained restroom. Paneer Tikka Masala was the worst Ive ever had - very little flavor, no spice (wasnt asked spice level), not very much paneer. Maybe get something else? Naan and basmati was pretty good. Water, like at nearly every Indian restaurant, was as plentiful as the Ganges.

Pros: - good chicken dishes - there are always tables available - they butter your naan (so delicious) Cons: - slightly slow food service - chai tea does not include refills Bottom line: some of the better Indian/Nepalese food in Berkeley, but I usually dont go out of my way to have food here.

“Elegant Restaurant in Elegant Julia Morgan Building” We shifted our annual birthday lunch celebration from the Chez Panisse Cafe to Julias just to try someplace different. Julia Morgan buildings are truly gems, so before eating we explored the elegant yet slightly run down building.

Good quality Nepali and Indian food with a quiet environment. Location is in an accessable part of Berkeley near shops and other food. Ive always had good service with them and they were easily able to accommodate a large group.

I ordered chicken tikka masala, veggie chow mein (stir fried noodle), and rice pulau as side dish. All qualities were above average. The flavor of tikka masala was OK. Chow mein was too oily but delicious. Rice pulau was good.

I was 2 times in Nepal and I can say this was as authentic as it can be. The food is just great. The garlic Naan is soooo good. The price is really cheap compared to the quality food you get. I can recommend this strongly.

My go to Indian restaurant. Tikka masala, chicken curry is always a good choice. Big portions for lunch plates. Service is always nice and friendly. Always use Mount Everest for company group lunches. They deliver.

The waitress was really rude, and the cooks kept staring at our table making my sister and I really uncomfortable. The food was alright. I will never be back because of the disrespectful service.

The setting is simple. The staff are kind. Everything is clean and the tableware is authentic. But the food is awesome. Masala and naan from heaven. My go to place for Indian in Berkeley.

Not the chow mein I was expecting but delicious enough! About the atmosphere: I did go around 7~8pm but it seemed a bit too dark than I would have liked; not much lighting.

Amazing Honey Naan!! It compliments well with the paneer tikka masala. They have pretty lights on at night around the restaraunt which makes the mood warm and cozy.

Food is good, though "mild" is not spicy at all (fine with me but most people would probably want more heat). Interior is quite dim. The garlic naan is excellent.
