I had lunch at the Cafe today with two friends. We met around 11 am because we heard the place was busy and noisy. My friends arrived first and ordered coffee, which didnt arrive until I arrived and ordered my own. No coffee for another 20 mins, and even that took speaking to a staffperson. We ordered a simple lunch and waited, watching a party who arrived after us get served. Our salads arrived but it took another 20 minutes to get the third order. I requested the check, fearing we might get stuck waiting for it. I paid with plastic on a laptop; the wait person asked if I wanted to tip. I explained why I did not. Later a second person came over to apologize and offer us a card for a free waffle. The food and coffee were OK, but the service and chaos did not work for us. No one expected elegant dining, but this was just sloppiness.

normally I dont write any bad reviews...I am really dissappointed about customer service. In such a lovely place such a rude amazing bavior.I dont know why two girls totally ignored us for 20min served other customers but probably because my boyfriend is Iranian and mewith long dress...I dont want to judge but even it was not racistic ot was very rude they totally ignored us and even when we were leaving laughing in our face saying bye bue, have a wonderful day...I used to work as top retail manager,I have never in my entire lifeexperoence such a rudness.Very big pitty for owner pf such a great lovely place....

This place is tiny, so it can be a little hard to score a seat. But, once you do, youre in for a real treat! The coffee is amazing, and the food is uniformly delicious. They have one rotating waffle per day, and Ive never been disappointed with the selection - the waffles are topped with a little yogurt and fresh seasonal fruit. Im also partial to the smoked salmon plate, which has toast, poached eggs, smoked salmon, cucumber, and capers. The best way to do Guerilla, in my opinion, is to go with two people and split a savory option and a sweet option for the best of both worlds.

Rarely write reviews, but just terribly customer service. I ordered a drip coffee (which Im fairly sure I was charged for a pour over) and then waited directly in front of the cashier for 20min without any sign of getting said coffee --- when I finally asked she seemed like she had no recollection of having taken my order & charged me & gave me a small cup of pump style drip coffee. Seems insane that a) forgot my VERY simple order b) did not even give me a large or anything more than a "oops" for having wasted 20min of this lovely day

Bad service for the steep price. Just went in to grab a cappuccino and waited 10 minutes - and that was with NO line. Another weekend I had brunch there and the tinny place was packed, so it took 15 min. just to get the order in, which is understandable, but the barista and servers clearly showed their "excuse me....Im busy attitude" . Not pleasant. When the food arrived they mixed up tables and were very confused. We had to explicitly ask for utensils twice. We ended up fetching them ourselves from the kitchen.

The GC has amazing food, coffee, mochas, lattes, and music. The service is on point and the atmosphere is poppin. There is a new theme constantly and there is never a quiet moment. The people who work there treat you like family and really make it a positive experience. Best food: waffles or croissant with the works. Best drink: spicy mocha or regular latte. Worst part about GC: you never know what food is on tap for the day but you know it will be pleasing.

the place was so packed with people you could hardly move. I had one of the panini sandwiches and the red, green, and white spritzer. the drink was so refreshing, tasted just like a mojito without the booze. sure beat the Coke I was planning to have. my friend ordered a cappuccino and said it was one of the best hed ever had, the foam on top was just perfect. service is fast and friendly.

One of the best place to get espresso-based drinks in the East Bay, Guerrilla Cafe is a long time establishment amount locals. It is chronically understaffed, in part because it is both small and popular, but you sometimes get the feeling that its purposeful in order to maintain its anti-establishment vibe. Expect good food and coffee, and a long wait.

I like this cafe, the food and drinks are good, but the slow service is legendary. The vibe from behind the counter is uber-hip, sometimes friendly, other times aloof. 20 minutes to get a hot chocolate today, and my kid was late for school. Never again, Guerilla Cafe!

Guerilla cafe is a great breakfast / lunch place. We love to eat here before a hike around Redwood Park. The portions are generous and the price is fair. The staff always seems friendly and helpful. The music and decor are also great here.

The service couldnt have been better. Great atmosphere and amazing food! There is no table service (you order at the counter) so I wonder if some of the bad reviews are from people who sat down and waited for someone to come to the table.

The coffee was rather sour and bitter, but the food was decent and the music was good. There is not a very large selection of food though. Good coffee would make this a 3 or 4 star cafe. Also, the cafe is very not wheelchair accessible.

Waited over an hour for our meal and it never showed. Finally went to ask about it and they forgot about it. All they did was refund us. I would expect a refund and the meal brought to us. Would never recommend anyone visit this place.

I love this little art-infused organic/local foods cafe. Great menu and great art that rotates each month. Always packed but worth the wait. One of my favorite places to eat in Berkeley. The music is great as well.

Great quality for simple, standard brunch fare. Order and pay at the counter, and wait for your food to arrive. Sidewalk seating available. Reasonable prices. Rough around the edges in service, but easy to forgive.

They use fair trade coffee, organic milk, and make great sandwiches, egg dishes, and waffles (using organic free range eggs). Could have more vegan options maybe. Good music and friendly warm atmosphere.

Wonderful polenta and poached eggs. Will go back for the waffles next time. Blue Bottle Coffee works well with the interesting and ecclectic menu. Keep up the good work and great cooking.

Their waffles are done perfectly, but keep in mind theyre only served in the morning (til 1pm?). Staff are friendly here, music is nice. Im a big fan of their paninis too.
