Hella packed up in hurr! Christmas dinner was held at Norms restaurant, located in a circumspect area in Bellflower. Not my call, naturally, but gotta take one for the team sometimes. Walking in, the horde of people waiting to be seated was quite the sight. I jotted my name & party size on the sign-in sheet, and the waiting commenced. Fortunately, the wait was a lot shorter than I was expecting it to be. Soon, we were sat in a snug 4 person booth. Norms had 3 Christmas Weekend Specials & their Trio platter (consisting of steak, chicken fingers & shrimp), to go along with their regular menu. I decided upon the New York steak & shrimp plate. Soup & salad- First up was my choice of gumbo (turkey soup was the alternative). The gumbo was delicious! Seasoned, salty, spicy - it really hit the spot on a very cold, cold night. The salad was the basic plate of iceberg lettuce, with croutons & cheese. I asked for Caesar dressing, but was later told they were out. Ranch was quickly substituted for me. NY steak & shrimp- Cooked medium rare, the steak was quite good, with a decent amount of fat. It was also a respectable size. Choosing mashed potatoes with gravy over a loaded baked potato, the mashed potatoes were buttery smooth & went well with the steak. The squash & zucchini were cooked perfectly and provided the mom-approved serving of vegetables. The NY steak & shrimp was a good pick! Service was good. Our server was quick with my 3 refills of soda water w/lime, and our plates were cleared in a timely manner. Seeing how hectic & jumping the place was, that deserves some recognition. Seating is via booths and some tables. I didnt get to check out the entire restaurant, but it seems there is plenty of seating on days that dont land on holidays. Booths, tables & counter seating available. Parking is in a private lot, which was hard to come by when we went. A sign stating extra Norms parking led cars across the street to the parking lot of a small business, which we used to park our car. Not bad at all, Norms. For a bustling Christmas dinner, the wait was much more bearable than I assumed it would be and the service was on point despite the hungry crowds piling in. Plus, youre always open! Not a place for atmosphere or a romantic evening, Norms has affordable prices & food in large portions. If you can tolerate some of the riffraff that frequent the joint & keep your nose clean, then I think you might be pleasantly surprised at what you can get for not a lot of scratch. Just dont come here in the middle of night. Recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM

Went to norms cause it has late night hours I was surprise when I ordered steak dinners that they actually had a full menu going that the time that I went there I was pleasantly surprised the place is clean a lot of people but not too many for you to get in and out in a good amount of time I was there for 20 minutes and the food was just excellent I got to park right out front of the business so there was no problem with parking and I noticed that the parking was on the side and theres ample parking there the people there are very friendly and very helpful and very patient especially at that hour in the morning that was pretty surprising to most people that are working at that time of are pretty tired and grumpy but not there they have music going people in the background are having a good old time laughing and carrying on and the price wasnt too bad I ordered 3 steak dinners last night actually breakfast steak and it was only $40 and I was really really pleased and I got what I paid for it was very good steak and just the way I wanted my eggs it came out perfect so thank you norms keep up the good work I would recommend this place to anybody and everybody

The service was horrible we get there and we were seated the waitress was upset and told the other lady you can seat them somewhere else then they bring our napkins with only a knife and it takes 20 minutes for someone to come and ask us for a drink my wife asked for a salad the food came and no Salad and to top it off we had to wait for our forks we ask for Syrup 6-7minutes laterwe are still waiting we ask again and they finally brought it we ask again for my wifes salad and they said u still want it. it was just horrible I couldnt believe it we always eat at norms I just couldnt believe how unprofessional they were by the time we ate our food it was cold I forgot to mention when they brought my food they didnt bring my pancakes I had to wait I dont recall on how many minutes it was but it felt forever again we go every Sunday To norms and I cant believe how horrible the service was.

We patronized them on this past Saturday morning... 1:we were seated at a table that had a single uncovered set of cuttlary (there were two of us) Upon requesting a couple of fresh sets, after waiting awhile I walked to the counter, where I was informed that "it would be a moment " as the cuttlary was in the dish washer... 2:The servers appeared to have been in a bit of disarray,as to who had which tables. 3:Upon receiving our bill my wife discovered that we were given the "WRONG ONE"!! While this does appear to be a popular location, I dont think well be going back there again nor would I recommend it to anyone as I found the food mediocre and the service leaving "a bit to be desired "

My supervisors took twenty of us out to breakfast and we were unapologetically turn away. We work graveyard shift got there around three am.the sever Russell said its only three of us here we cant take you. I said are you really going to turn us away? I said we going to your competitor Dennys , he replied do what you gotta do.This use to be mu favorite place to take my family. I think we should be compensated for this rude unlike norms behavior. I dont like Dennys but they took wondering care of our group.

came with the family for dinner, you knowing seeing all those steak and eggs advertising really lured us in...well it was a mistake. I ordered steak and eggs , and got ham and eggs (dude forgot my pancakes) , mom order filet mignon and got a over cooked (non filet mignon )...I dont know what to say, it was just a hot mess all around. People at every table were complaining , two I over heard. I worked in the restaurant business for years, and know that this is not how you handle such a popular business.
