My wife and I were at Via Mar for dinner last Friday night. I have to say that it was super special. We ordered a fresh lobster right from their lobster tank. It must have weighted about 7 pounds ( well I may be exaggerating just a bit), it was cooked perfectly, it came with rice, beans, tortillas, salsas, melted butter for dipping. My wife and I also shared a mexican salad, also perfectly made. It was fabulous, why drive all the way to Puerto Nuevo or Rosarito and put up with the 3 or 4 hour wait to get thru customs at the International border. When we have a True Gem here in Baldwin Park. Food, Service and Drinks were outstanding, must order lobster. Not even Puerto Nuevo or Rosarito serve their lobster this fresh. They are alive in the tank until you say "I want that one" 10 minutes later its on a dish in front of you. Thank you.

I have been going to Via Mar for happy hour over one year now. Loved this place. In the past 3 months my customer sevice has gone down hill. Bad enough our beer is warm. Two months ago I. took a sip of my beer and I thought it was a piece of chipped ice on the beer mug and it was a piece of glass in my mouth. I was at ah. Not a sorry , let me get the mgr or comp my beer . Nothing. This happened again to me last week. They again did nothing. I asked her to comp the 99 cent beer a d she said she couldnt. Ok thats not enough the 3nd time is a charm. My friend visited and they burnt her food. It was black. . the list goes on. Their beer mugs are so old they are chipping off into the mouths of the payi g customer. Dine at your own risk. Be safe when you drink from their mugs. I will never go back.

This will be our third time at this restaurant this week. The chips with Salsa and hot beans are complimentary. My friend Maliheh Bartolomeo, Artist from Sacramento is having an exhibit across the street and at the Baldwin Park Art and Recreation Center on the corner of Maine and Ramona, just across the street until September 9. We plan to make this our go to restaurant to eat, drink and hangout. Service is good and they have happy hour. Food reasonable price and fresh fish good. Highly recommend. Check out Mother Earth exhibit open between 4-8 on Monday to Thursday and 10-2 Saturday and plan to stop by this restaurant to hang out and eat. Baldwin Park is a happening place! The happy hour is among the best I would class in the San Gabriel Valley. The appointment was attractive, the serving ladies and men were very polite and helpful, and the free chips that arrived with the complimentary salsa were warm, and had obviously been freshly made not too long before being served me. The seafood was respectable if not superb, but for the price, it was more, far more, than sufficiently succulent. The main sticking point, though, were the drinks: $1 pints of Dos Equis and 2.25 strong margaritas, and inexpensive well drinks, as well as all the sports channels (including fox soccer, champions league fans) will keep me coming back.

Ive been coming to this place for over 7 years since Ive been living in Baldwin Park. They sometimes get my order wrong but they fix it. Today I was surprise by the lack of professionalism from the manager. Once again, they got my order wrong after I had repeated my order 3 times. I definitely will stop coming to this place. All businesses fix your order when they get it wrong, but not Via Mar.

Love this place its cool for nights out with adults and that atmosphere is partying and drinking the sea food there is delicious my favorite seafood place the Bears are a dollar the people are great outside theres heaters music a bar highly recommend people to go and eat and drink there I give this place a good review

Im a ussual customer. Been goin to via mar for 5 yrs every friday n saturday for happy hour but the new set up for the tables on the patio its wack. Not to mention that the prices are goin up,,, modelo glass bottle are 6.40 when it use to be 4.80 non happy hpur price ,,,,, Not got that the prices ate goin up.....

Karaoke every Thursday and Saturday nights, and DJ on Fridays... It starts at 8pm.....There is hardly any other place that will compete with their food quality, service and price.... I am extremely satisfied. Best seafood, I reccomend their "ViaMar oyster".

Very nice place to eat. Good Mexican food,and sea food. The seating is nice. You can eat inside or outside, nice set up. The bar is great, lots of TVs thru out restaurant. Feels like youre vacationing in Mexico.

Happy hour is great and now music is being played from 6:30 pm till 11:00 pm, it really adds to the friendly atmopher. Prices are reasonable and the owner himself is walking around talking to the people.
