Went with a friend whos been out of town, we were looking forward to some good eats after Slice of Humboldt (so good). Both of us got single slices from their standard list of pizzas on the wall, and a large garlic fry. Fries were OK, just ordinary string fries with minced garlic on sprinkled top, seemed like freezer fries but decent...I guess. Quantity over quality there sadly... The real disappointment was the reheated cheese pizza they used for ny chicjen and his pepperoni/meat lover type slices. It was obvious they took older cooked cheese slices and dropped some meat and veggies on, then threw it under heat. Costco throws out pizza when its as old as what we got. The pizza was SUPER thin, borderline "thin crust" and the toppings were in the center of the slice and not baked into the cheese because of the prep method. My friends slice almost had no cheese too. Taste was OK but overall mediocre for over $5 a slice. Id rather have Taco Bell. Im not going back, been there a few times and full pizzas are OK, but when you have Dons Donuts down the street selling GOOD pizza AND donuts, and Smugs two blocks away selling GREAT pizza; why go to APD? Oh well. Maybe the manager will see this. Finally, the cashier was obviously having a bad day, or hating his job, or both. He was pretty blunt and unfriendly with both of our orders and seemed more concerned with his phone.

We ordered the garlic lovers pizza. It was a very large serving with plenty of toppings to cover it. The crust was not too thin and nowhere near thick. It was a perfect flake and doughy center. The garlic was complimented by the cheeses and spinach on top. It definitely is one to eat warm as much was left desired when we had the leftovers cold (we are traveling through). The kids loved their cheese and half pepperoni pizza, they thought it had a perfect blend of sauce and toppings (not too saucy but enough to taste).

Absolutely amazing place to eat. Staff is always extremely friendly and the food is consistently delicious. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced and the quality far exceeds the price. If youre in the mood for a burger the out n about burger is a must. Highly comparable to an innout burger be sure to go animal style. The pizza is delicious and the slice portions are even bigger than Costco. All around A+ its a must for a quick bite to eat in Arcata.

There is a Oriental Girl jen working there and is billing my credit card. and is tipping her self on people credit cards. it wont stop me from eating there, but if some thing like this happens. U must call the police, I think her name is jen . one person working isent ganna stop me from being happy just because shes a crime girl.I will still give this place 5 star because this place has been great for me every other time Ive been going

Well bad experience here, went there on a Friday night around 8, I ordered a veggie pizza, not a vegetarian but it sounded good. First we sat at a table that hadnt been cleaned yet thinking someone would come bus it down as we waited didnt happen. I ended up moving the stuff to another dirty table after fifteen minutes. This place is amazing! Stayed in this part of California (Arcata) for 2 months and had to stop here almost everyday. I was trying to get a bite of everything on the menu. Fell short but I covered a lot and it was all fantastic. Lots of classics all with a unique twist that doesnt take anything away from what it is and adds plenty to it.

We were passing through on vacation and the front desk clerk at our hotel recommended. We were a week away from home and this was hands down the best meal of the trip. We bought a pizza that was top 5 best Ive ever had. The restaurant is eclectic and the server was friendly and attentive. Thank you for making our vacation memories

I was driving by Arcata and stopped in this deli based on a recommendation from a friend and was disappointed despite the expectations. I had the BBQ turkey sandwich and it was really good. The price was average, the service was beyond good and a very friendly wait staff. Overall, it was a good dining experience.

One of my favorite spots in Arcata. Been eating there since 99. It has changed over the years but not too much. The food is quality. Servings are huge. They use local produce, meats, and breads in some dishes. It can be packed on the weekends, late night. They serve beer, wine. Local beers. Big menu.

APD offers large portions of good food made mostly from local ingredients. Make no mistake, this is a college town joint. Pizza is good but the real beauty is the variety on the menu. There is something for everybody. My favorite is the ruben sandwich made from house roasted dark meat turkey.

Had bad service for a while but gave it another try and was impressed. The portions are huge and the service was great. The French dip is unconventional but amazing and the turkey club is the best in town. Its just like the good old days. Glad to see this place return to its former glory.

Not sure how the food tastes, waited 30 min for food to be made, and when we asked if it was ready, one guy lied trying to keep us there (for what could have been at least 10 more minutes, according to the other cashier). NEVER AGAIN (it might be fine if you order ahead, though)

A Long wait for a very disapointing food and service. Pizza was a salad- pizza (transparent crust). Our complaint was received badly, she tried to blame us for a terribly cooked pizza, definetely not going to return after this bad experience.

Bomb food. Had the burger way better than stars. A bit on the pricey side depending on what you order but the food will full you up. They have pizzas, cold sandwiches, hot sandwiches, burgers (chicken, beef, veggie), fries and beer.

I love the "out and about" burger. One of my favorite burgers in Humboldt. Local Humboldt Grass-fed beef burgers done right. I have eaten the double out and about with cheese multiple times and gotten a quality burger every time.

Not sure whats going on down at APD,we asked for regular burger. We get soggy nasty out and about road kill. As for Cole slaw,Ouch more like onion salad. Yes !! Hire locals ,just make them Adults and more than a dorm room cook

This place costs just little more than others but they use only the best ingredients and always....always fresh. Perfect avacados and sprouts..homemade mozz sticks...cmon..homemade. AP and D is the one and only.

Really good pizza. I had the garlic pizza. I like Margiareta pizza, but didnt need a whole pizza and they dont sell that one by the slice. The staff is super friendly. The whole place has a nice feel to it.
