Caters to the usual mix of locals for the caffeine fix. Theres a quick cup, brew bar or espresso bar. Staff gets to know the locals and tries to manage rushes pretty well. Downside is lack of smaller tables so more customers can enjoy the changing art and local people watching. Heres hoping that the plans Safeway has for the center wont drive this business out.

Im in Santa Cruz for a concert, decided to camp instead of getting a room. I woke up super early both mornings and Aptos Coffee was open right on time, their baristas are friendly and helpful. A young man named Kieran was particularly pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend this beautiful little gem if youre in the area!

Decided to close at 6:30 PM when the sign clearly says 8 PM. Went to walk in at 6:30 PM and was informed Sorry, Were closed. Unsure if incorrect hours posted on their window or if lazy employees that wanted to go home early. Oh well Starbucks in Safeway was open. Poor

Great service and a wide variety of roasts and regions. Not sure how they are. Ordered the darkest roast which was, unsurprisingly, a little over roasted for my taste. Ill be back for the Ethiopian medium roast...

I love just a plain cup of coffee with a bit of cream and this is the place to get it . Getting a fresh brewed cup of coffee is miles above what u get out of the big metal tin at most places.
