One good thing about serving jury duty at the Alhambra courthouse, is having all the food options on Main. Jasmine House is a sit down restaurant with a to go in the back. I dined here on 3 occasions, once in the restaurant & twice to go. Restaurant The restaurant has various lunch specials, starting from $6.99. After a quick glance, I decided upon the beef w/ bittermelon. It came with choice of soup (egg flower or sweet & sour) & choice of rice (white or brown). The beef w/ bittermelon was a good sized entrée. The slices of beef were tender, with just a hint of sweetness. The bittermelon was bitter, which does all kinds of wonders in regards to health, especially blood sugar. The sweet & sour soup was satisfactory and the rice was fluffy. To go 2 item combos w/ soup are at the bargain basement price of $3.68 plus tax. Unfortunately, most of the items warming in the hot trays are nothing to write home about. I tried to find the best of what was to be had & went with braised eggplant & fried whole shrimp. Plenty of eggplant was to be had, but combos are limited to only 4 shrimp per order. On the second occasion, I asked for more since there were only 2 shrimp left in the hot tray. The lady gave me an extra one, but was firm in not giving me that last one. Go figure! The eggplant slices were soft, with a salty sweet sauce. The shrimp had a light breading on them, and were satisfactory. The soup was watered down, but for $3.68 plus tax, a filling meal was to be had, if not extraordinarily so. Service was okay. One complaint though, I asked for water at the to go & the lady tried to sell me a drink. I insisted on a cup of water, but she wasnt relaxing on the drink solicitation. I then went to the restaurant, asking for water, which a waitress replied "sorry". Unperturbed, I asked another waitress and she graciously gave me a Styrofoam cup of H20. Im a customer, I should get a cup of water if I ask for one. Plenty of seating, with booths & lazy Susan tables inside the restaurant. I sat at the al fresco tables overlooking Main all three times I visited Jasmine House. Parking is at the public parking structure to the rear of Jasmine House on 1st. Jasmine House serves its purpose, nothing more. Lunch specials inside the restaurant & cheap combo plates in the to go section provide meals quick & inexpensively. I was satisfied with the food I had, and excluding the hiccup about the water, was content with the service. Jasmine House does in a pinch when youre looking for cheap eats on Main. Recommend! Called to order party trays. Over $100 in food for a party of 10 adults +... Asked a few questions about pricing and how many each tray feeds, then he said "mmhmm, ok" and hung up on me. ... Hung up on me. Very clear, very deliberate. ... Really!? Dont recommend based on service. Update: Ordered from Panda Express across the street. All questions answered, ordered in 5 minutes. Pretty simple.

Food is okay here. If you are craving Hong Kong style food, this might be the only option on Main Street. However, if you are willing to travel a little, there are far tastier choices to the south. Thats basically the problem with Jasmine - everything is okay, mediocre, nothing exceptional. This extends every aspect of the place: to the service, the decor, and the pricing.

Another Hong Kong Style Cafe/Restaurant though more on the Restaurant side. Food is solid and well cooked but prices are a little more than similar type restaurants around the area particularly my preferred China Bistro. Service is a little less hospitable when compared to other restaurants especially when they tried to not honor a coupon I had.

the workers are exceptionally stingy… they actually count how many times we refilled the brown rice bucket (just 1 refill) and doggie boxes and plastic bags they gave us as if we owe it to them… food portion is small and definitely not the quality you will normally get from the other "islands"… dont think i want to come here again…

Mother T. is always wanting to go here to grab a roasted duck, simply because its one of the cheaper option out there, and the quality is pretty good. Do note that they do take card, but only if its a $30 and over transaction.

Those beef roll things (have no idea what its called) here is amazing! I love the dough that they use, and the meat is great. I also really enjoy the jalapeno salsa they have at the tables. yummy.

I died this place game me aids .. the food was horrible and no flavor .. negative 3 stars .. specially for the price I paid .. Ive couldve eating a top Ramen and be more satisfied.. a la verga

The portions are large but the hot sauce is sour. Staff is friendly and nice. The soup we were served was too sour and bitter for my taste but the chicken chow mein was good.

The peking duck was good. And snow pea leaves was wonderful. The Macau roasted pork had just the right balance of fat and meat. Overall very good

Very enjoy my first experience here at this HK style cafe. Its total different atmosphere with the surrounding Chinese eateries. Give them a try!

Food taste so average. Service was average. Prices is too high compared to other Chinese restaurants around them. Go somewhere else.

Great food and large portion sizes. The prices were very reasonable and the staff was sufficiently attentive.

Theres a Vip room that you can reserve for small parties. Food is tasty and presented beautifully.
