Im very surprised at all the positive reviews that this diner received. The quality of the food is incredibly low. For a restaurant that claims to be sourcing their food locally, I would not expect to be served canned mushrooms and canned beans. In general, ingredients seemed low quality. They had a breakfast special that included blue cheese and bacon. When I tried to order it, I was informed that they didnt actually have any blue cheese. Reading all the other positive reviews, I can only wonder if this place is undergoing a management change or something like it. The waitress was polite and friendly and the location is a positive, everything else was not.

I have been going here for breakfast every few months over the four years to summer 2008 during which Ive been living in Albany and this place is consistently very good, one of the better restaurants in the area. The only reason I didnt give it five stars is because I think the options could be a little healthier, but maybe thats just what I order more than what the menu actually has.

It was *very* good. I have only myself to blame for losing my mind and saying I wanted rye toast, when I had changed my mind to Eggs Benedict. The waitress didnt say anything, just replaced the, in my opinion mandatory, English muffin. Its a lot more expensive than one "$" would indicate. With tip we spent $46 for two. Worth it? ummmmm yes.

Well worth the wait. Eggs Benedict variations (the wildcat ) was really good. My wife and son got the classic Benedict, and said it was the best they ever had. My daughter got the pigs in a blanket and loved it. Very good service despite the crowds. Will definitely come back.

Plus the service has always been friendly and efficient. Total win. Try the Alameda, its decadent and utterly delicious. Also, the restaurant really tries to be Green / eco conscious. Theres just no reason not to eat here (for about $10-15 per person).

tasty brunch! While the prices are a bit on the steep side, they have great service and food. Never seem to have to wait for a table more than a few minutes, and the staff works at making sure you are getting what you need.

English breakfast was pretty bad, baked beans werent baked beans. Garlic on the tomatoes (English wouldnt do that), mushrooms werent fried but from a can of salted water, generally just not very good. Staff were nice.

Specials menu changes every weekend. Its always creative and always delicious. I like how the menu tells you the average distance your food travels from farm to table. Support local business and local farms.

Classic breakfast spot with local ingredients and tempting specials. Outdoor seating is available and lots of people bring dogs to sit outside with them. Great coffee. Friendly, attentive staff.
