Will never return. Beware: If you try to communicate your constructive criticisms to Management (thereafter found out it was the Owner), you may risk having him yell and scream at you and imply your family is untruthful as was the case with our family. Unbelievable treatment and very sad and brutal example of poor customer service. Attempted as a courtesy to provide constructive criticism of how the restaurant could provide better customer service and ended up feeling threatened and being yelled at by the Owner days after our visit. Very sad indeed. Have been going to Uncle Sals for a long time as we are big supporters of the small, local independently owned establishments. Had a delightful, delicious experience on Christmas Eve 2011 and on other evenings since and have shared those experiences with all our family and friends. Decided to go back for a special birthday in April 2012. Upon arrival, my party was wished a Happy Birthday by the hostess but was advised the restaurant had "received three other more important reservations after I placed our reservation and the table we requested was no longer available." That was the beginning of a disastrous evening. Thereafter, my party was treated by the staff as if we were a great inconvenience for the entire staff. We asked to speak with Management before paying the bill and were advised that Management was not there that evening. We left a note on the check inviting someone to call us if they wanted an explanation as to all the horrible actions taken against us at what was supposed to be a happy, quite dining celebration. After paying and attempting to leave, we asked another hostess for the Owner or Managers telephone number. She asked us if we wanted to speak with the Owner right then? Our party advised her that her colleague had just advised us Management was not there that evening. She blushed and handed us one of their business cards wtihout further comment. A man representing himself as "a representative of the Owner" called back the next day which was very appreciated and prompt. After attempting to return his call, we were able to speak with him (turned out to be the Owner) today, Tuesday. My family was advised that contrary to what I know I did, no birthday arrangements were ever made, although once again he could not explain how his own hostess greeted us with a "Happy Birthday - is today your actual birthday - [no, yesterday] well, then Happy Belated Birthday." The hostess must be commended for being clarvoyant as it is now a mystery as to how she knew of the birthday since we are assured in a threatening, abrasive tone that our family is untruthful. If you go to this restaurant, you may receive tasty food, but the service may be substandard and for goodness sake, dont dare complain about anything or you may face receiving their wrath. It was not a pleasant experience for innocent customers who were simply trying to get a good meal. Our entertainment dollars are better spent elsewhere. Good luck to this restaurant.

Horrible. Wont be back. The clam fettuccine came with one little clam and a "diced clam meat" substance that had the texture of eraser heads. Absolutely disgusting. I think they ran to the grocery and bought a frozen lean cuisine and microwaved it. When I told my waiter Gage/Gauge how bad it was he replied "oh, ok" and walked away. What an idiot. The hostess girl was equally moronic. She ignored us upon arrival while flirting with one of the kitchen staff who was hanging out with her and the reception counter. Crazy...never again. What a dump and what a bunch of tools.

What an experience. First served hot toasted garlic bread when sitting down. Atmosphere is quiet and dimed lights. Lots of patrons prefer to eat at the bar. We started out with stuffed mushrooms and escargot: perfection. Main course: FILET GORGONZOLA and VEAL MARIO. Uncle Sals serves a large filet ( I ordered medium rare and it was spot on) smothered with gorgonzola over roasted potatoes. She ordered the veal mario that melted in your mouth. Uncle Sals is a treat and we go back every chance we get.

This is hands down the best Italian food I have ever eaten. I stopped in for lunch with a co-worker and the food was absolutely amazing, the service was polite, professional, and as fast as could be. I could not have asked for better food or service, I would give more than 5 stars if I could. I will be adding Uncle Sals to my regular lunch routine!

Old fashioned, real Italian. Great food, excellent staff. Takes me back to the 60s when this would have been mentioned as "being just like the 20s" You cant improve upon good old fashioned Italian fare and atmosphere! I used to work in Italy, and had to go to the smaller villages to find a place like this. Scottsdale, you have it good!

Re-heated frozen food, bland, service is mediocre. My husbands lasagne was cold in the middle. Chicken picatta was tasteless, calamari was awful. Marinara sauce was plain tomato sauce. I think the potato soup was a plain, unseasoned, potato in a blender. Over priced for the quality of food. I do NOT recommend this place.

Have to only give it 2 stars this time. We love this place. Great food, but last night the service was incredibly slow. The place was very busy, but Ive seen it busy before and didnt have to wait as long as we did. Either not enough wait staff or not enough kitchen staff. Too bad because we love the food.

Old world restaurant, love the food, atmosphere, servers love to answer questions about their dishes. My wife and I just love it, and fortunately, it is close by. We do not have to go to NY to enjoy. We highly recommend this for great Italian dishes like mama used to make JS & MCS

the owner of this business is an idiot. I parked out front to eat and had a trailer. he didnt ask me politely to move my trailer he started out by calling me an f n moron. a lot of the other customers were shocked by the way he was acting. he was like a child throwing a fit.

Uncle Sals is like eating at your cousins place if he had an established restaurant.. Friendly, great service, but not overbearing. Food is always delicious. Nice place, nice people. I have been going there for about 10 years and NEVER had a bad experience or meal.

The best neighborhood bar and bar food. You can order a great dinner in the dining room or patio too. Prices dont break the bank. Always busy. This is the best find since we moved in this area last year. Our new neighbors took us there...thank you neighbor!!!

I do not know what that lady was expecting -this is NOT a fast food joint! I have been going here for years and the food and service are consistently great. Awesome place to bring out of town visitors for a nice dinner. And the bar is fun too!
