I went to Char with my girlfriend on a whim. Drove by the place many times and decided to stop in. First thing i noticed was how sticky the floor was and how dirty tables were including the one we got sat at. There was sweet and low all over out table and frys and other food on the floor under our table. It also seemed strange that the lady that seated us was also running around the restaurant clearing tables and getting drinks for patrons while the wait staff just kind did what they had to do. Kinda felt bad for her being she is the one who greets you at the door and seats you and she is sweating because she is working harder than anyone else in the place. As for the food i was excited. I looked around and the burgers looked great. They were big and juice looking. We were sat by the kitchen so i got to see every plate coming out of the kitchen with these huge burgers on plates. My girl friend ordered the jalapeno and cream cheese burger. When it came out it was a massive patty overflowing the bun and it looked really good. I ordered the Carolina BBq burger. When it came out and was placed in front of me i thought they forgot the burger patty. I opened up the bun to find a patty that resembled a Wendys Jr burger patty. I couldnt believe how small my burger patty was. In comparison to my girlfriends burger I felt like I ordered off the kids menu. My advice to have us back would be to hire someone to clear and clean tables maybe sweep a little and check with the kitchen and make sure there portion size is under control.

My fiancee and I went to Charr a few times and enjoyed the food. However, the last time we went was on a Saturday around 1pm, during the time their lunch menu is listed online. The menu was also up on the giant wall inside the restaurant when we went inside. Both my fiancee and I ordered items that were on the lunch menu for cheap (some even a low as half price). But when the bill came, we had been charged menu price. The waitress (who was the manager/owners wife) insisted that the lunch menu was only from Monday-Friday, and that it even said so on the door. Deflated, we paid and left. However, my fiancee looked at the door on the way out and it said NOWHERE that the lunch specials are only Monday-Friday. Even on the website, it lists lunch menu as "starting at 11AM daily." Normally, I would accept that we were wrong and move on, but this lady was very rude in responding to our concerns that we had no way of knowing that lunch prices dont apply on weekends (especially not by looking at the BIG-ASS WALL IN THE RESTAURANT that listed the lunch prices when we walked in that day). Will not be returning to this poorly-run business again.

Not impressed at all. Ill start with the best part and that was our server. She was very attentive and friendly. Now the rest....The restaurant was incredibly dark. Everyone in the place, including all at our table had to use our phones as flash lights to read the menu. Once we ordered the food took forever!!!! I dont see why it should. For one it was slow and they only really make one thing...Burgers! We ordered our burgers med-rare. All of them came out well done and of course dry. Not much flavor either. I expect much better from a place that specializes in burgers and charges $14 for them. We will not be going back. A little advice to the owner....If your gonna run a "burger" bar, you need to make a good burger.

We won a gift certificate from a Halloween trunk or treat display, and I am so glad we did! I have never been here before, and was pleasantly surprised. The veggie burger was delicious, my son chowed down the 2am burger, and my husbands steak artisan sandwich was cooked to perfection. I would have never driven by this place tucked away on the SE corner of 7th St. And Thunderbird. If it wasnt for their kind donation to the church trunk or treat contest we probably wouldnt have found it. But we are going to definitely be patrons of this great burger bar and love supporting our local businesses.

I went today for the first time and had a burger and fries and my mother had sliders...It was the best tasting burger ive ever had and I love the buns on the sliders..the price was good..the long island was a little high in price though. the waiter was really cool.. im going back maybe tomorrow for the bread pudding..i do not understand why some people put bad reviews...i went today only because all my feiends have been talking good about the place...its also upscale inside..very nice looking...these people that complain must really have there nose up in the air...

Tried to order a burger on a bed of romaine lettuce, the "manager" said he had no way of ringing that up. I have made this order in many places as my wife has a digestive disease. I was blown away that the gentleman couldnt find a way to place the order and also lost a sale of another burger. Good luck running a restaurant with that opinion. Couldnt tell you if the food was good, never made it past the terrible service. I would go to any other place in phoenix even if Charr had the best burger in town. A 9.5 is as good as a 10, 99% of the time.

If I could rate our server Dana and not the food this place would get 5 starts but as far as the food and the manager go I wish I could give 0 starts.... if I was not starving I would have gotten up to leave! The mozzarella poppers were very soggy and when I sent them back the manager came and told me that it was the way it was ment to be because they made it in house and I was wrong to think it would be any other way. There was no bacon flavor in the belly buster and the mac and cheese was just like a box from the store. Not worth the calories!

So i walk in the door and the waitress immediately asked if this to go (Im a black truck driver). I pick my seat, and ask about drinks (i like sweet tea), i was told thats a southern thing not south west OK. so i googled the place so i already knew wht i want a veggie burger. It took a little longer than i expected but the burger was worth the wait, the fries were real thin but very tasty. a second waitress VICTORIA came over and was very friendly and talkative. overall a decent meal on a Sunday afternoon. nice quiet atmosphere.

Another great restaurant by the Aiello family!! The burgers are excellent and they are willing to let you do a burger without the bun. My favorite is the steak salad. The steak is always cooked perfectly to my order and it isnt just a small amount of steak, it fits every bite of the salad perfectly. Then there are the made to order milkshakes. Do I need to say more?? If you have been to Aiellos, walk a few steps down to Charr, meet the fantastic staff, and get to know the regulars. Cant go wrong here!
